Cail Dorian

Cail felt something being held back by Sey. He stood up facing her back as glared as though he could see through her.

"Do I get the decency of an answer?"

He walked up to Sey's back with a cold almost heartless look in his eyes. He could tell it was not what she had wanted or maybe it was something deeper.

"I apologize for my actions Miss Sey. Won't happen again."

His mind began to race as to why she wouldn't have answered. I mean she had to have a reason for rejecting him. Anyways, if she really did not like him, he would have to put his feelings aside for they were to be together for if they were to be together for life, he could not let it get in the way of protecting her one bit.

"Cail..." Sey didn't even bother to turn around, her head hanging low.

"We've been apart for 5 years Cail. I've changed, you've changed. You really didn't expect to come in here and, after repeated efforts to knock me out, try and whisk me off my feet with a kiss? Cail I know you're smarter then that." Sey finally raised sad, grey eyes to look at Cail.

"You left me alone, just as everyone else has before Cail. Don't... I'm not that much of a saint. Some things just can't be forgotten."

Sey

Cail solemnly stared into her eyes with regret and yet there was redemption in them.

"Sey....If I had wanted you to forget, I wouldn't have come back. If I had wanted you to forgive I would have asked for it."

Cail took a small step closer, as so he was now almost touching her face.

"I have wanted to do that for 5 years. I came back to do that and be there for you. You are charged to me like it or not and we will be together. I am sorry you do not express the feelings I do. Don't worry they won't. be. there. again."

With the final words emphasized, Cail took a step back still training his eyes on the White mage in front of him.

"Continue your business, Oh and for the record....you hated my presence then as you do now."

"Because... Beacuse you, you..." She said, searching for the words.

"Because you were such a pompous p***k! Just as you are now! Of course I hate you, I can't..." Throwing her hands into the air and beginning to pace, Sey glared at Cail.

"Why did you have to come back into my life?"

Sey

Cail stood there, staring at Sey as she stopped pacing and glared at him with beams that would cut through the thickest of material. He took a breathe making sure what he would say, would be said in a calm voice, no matter how angry he was. He had to regain some composure for he still was a paladin of Falis after all.

"Sey, if it is that you want me out of your life, you wil not have that. Again, You are in my charge like it or not." he stepped closer to her again as he kept speaking. "As for me being the pompous p***k, I am just doing my job. My feelings will no longer come out, have no fear of that. If we are done, find out how long it will be till you see Joeseph. We will need to explain everything to Merielle after you are done."

By the end of his small speech, Cail was again in Sey's face, still letting his feelings be seen in his eyes.

The elevator doors dinged open, revealing three men. One of them with an enormous halberd. That one wasn't Joseph Brown though, the CEO was the one who was slung over Charlie's shoulder. The one with the weapon was Stryphe.

"You're right," He looked at the damage and then to Stryphe, "This building is costing me a fortune to insure. Now excuse me."

He slunk forward off his drivers shoulders, the pain in his side bothering him less. Still quite a bit though, he pushed those stitches to their limit after that jump. But still, he straightened his blazer and started slink forward out of the elevator.

He took a deep breath. But then he paused, now wasn't the time for a dramatic speech.

"Kindly," He began the revised version, "Someone tell me what the ******** is going on?"

Stryphe followed Joseph out of the elevator, careful not to catch his halberd on the ceiling, his cigarette leaving a trail of greyish-white smoke in his wake- an extension of the miasma formed inside the elevator. With an authoritive stride, he stepped up to the side of Joseph brown and glared about the room, jumping from face to familiar face, until his eyes landed on the Falacian paladin. He had a distaste for holy-rollers, especially the zealous ones (Sey Kaikou being one of the few he could tolerate- most of the time).

From behind a wavy veil of smoke and stray, thin locks of long, black hair, those eyes narrowed at the bible-thumping warrior. There didn't seem to be a fight going on anymore, between Sey and whoever her foe had been- but it was only the preistess and the paladin she was standing ever so close to who seemed to have gotten worked up compared to the others in the room.

He wanted to ask questions, but wouldn't for now- Joseph was in charge, here. And so he stood, silent, and waited for an explanation.

"Sweet Light that's fine!" She said, walking away from him before turning around to face him once more.

"Just realize that for the past 5 years that you left me high and dry, I've grown. I'm 20 years old now Cail; I'm not 16! And I've had others who've held my heart-"

Joseph Brown
"Kindly," He began the revised version, "Someone tell me what the ******** is going on?"

Sey spun around to stare at the trio that had left the elevator, her eyes settling on the halberd wielding demon.

"... and others who also abandoned it."

Sey was so worked up with Cail's words and her own tirade that she didn't hear the 'ding' of the elevator, nor did she notice the injured Joseph Brown assisted by Charles, and the notorious Stryphe entering the decimated Main Lobby - which was still uncommonly bright and filled with holy aura due to Sey and Cail's previous battle.

Stryphe was here too...? She didn't miss a beat though. The limp of an injured man was something Sey could spot from 50 yards away and wordlessly, with Dryad-like grace, flew to Joseph's side inspecting his body with experienced hands.

"There was a bit of a misunderstanding between myself and my Paladin protector here. Have no doubt that you will be fully compensated for your damages. Now please, tell me what exactly has happened to you Sir Brown?"

"I realize now that I was wrong. I can't turn back the hands of time Seyumi. What else do you want me to do- grovel?!" Cail spat, quickly glaring at the dinging elevator as it opened.

"Light Eternal - what's this now?" He said, eying the 3 men who walked out; only one of whom he recognized as the man that wielded the Scythe earlier in the Temple of Falis.

Sey
The limp of an injured man was something Sey could spot from 50 yards away and wordlessly, with Dryad-like grace, flew to Joseph's side inspecting his body with experienced hands.

"SEY!" Cail yelled, unsheathing his daggers in a flash and rushing over to her as soon as he saw her move towards the injured man.

Looking over each individually, Cail felt his hair bristle as he stared at the halberd toting one. He had the stench of demon on him...

"Goddamn selfless White Mages..." He mumbled under his breath. Just as Sey voiced her query about Joseph's injury, Cail firmly - yet gently - pulled her back and stood between her and the demon.

"Sey, I don't like the sort of companions your injured friend keeps."

"Oh for Christ's sake," Joseph mumbled as the white mage began to fuss over him, "I had minor surgery recently, I've just been exerting myself too much today. Just give me ti..."

It was on that cue that the mage was pulled back by the other holy roller. Peachy, another God loving idiot with too much time on their hands causing s**t in his life. If Seyumi wasn't enough.
But still, he didn't look too happy with Stryphe, must be the whole demon thing. Though you would think the dofus in armour would be able to recognise the faint trace of Falis left on Stryphe from when the demon was... Well, a dofus in armour.

"Now honestly," Joseph crossed his arms over his stomach. Both for effect and to have easy access to his guns, "You come in, wreck my lobby and then you say that you don't like my associate. I think I would be much more justified to say to little miss here that I don't like her friends."

"But still," He exhaled heavily while initiating a half grin, "This is a place of business, my place of business. I don't want trouble."

Joseph had a feeling that despite not wanting it, there was going to be trouble.

He took a couple steps back, guaging the distance between himself and the paladin as Joseph spoke.

"Hm," He breathed, shrugging calmly.

Then, out of nowhere, he spat his cigarette out onto the floor and yanked violently down on the pole of his halberd. The weapon, resting on his shoulder, arced through the air as if released, brimming with tension and power, by a trigger- like a mousetrap. The paladin before him being the mouse.

He tensed his right arm, the one holding the halberd, as the pole met his elbow, effectively stopping the downward arc of the weapon- moments before the massive, wickedly jagged blade came down on the spot where the Falacian paladin stood, just inches above his head.

"Somethin' about me you don't approve of, bub?"

"Oh for Christ's sake," Joseph mumbled as the white mage began to fuss over him, "I had minor surgery recently, I've just been exerting myself too much today. Just give me ti..."

"Cail, you have your duties and I have mine. First and foremost," Sey said, breaking free of Cail's hold for a small moment at least, and holding her hand out to Joseph's chest - a ball of light cupped in her hand.

"This may sting a bit."

The light, quite intense, yet not as awe inspiring and glorious as the massive spell casting that occured moments earlier, spread out along Joseph's torso and seeped inside of him, condensing around the wound on his torso and arm. The CEO would find his wounds closed - though his temper potentially unabated.

The light seemed to fade earlier then it had before and Sey gave a bit of a sigh. She most definately had her work cut out for her - though if she had to keep on casting offensive spells, she didn't know how long she'd last.

"There. Good as new." Sey said with a bit of a smile. She heard Cail's words to Stryphe and felt a bit of a laugh well inside her, though she bit it back.

"Cail, there are such things as good Demons in the world you know. Though they're not quite tame. I happen to know Sir Stryphe - a former Paladin of Falis; or at least a psuedo follower. It would behoove you to not provoke him, especially here in this already decimated lobby." She cast an appologetic look at Joseph. Hopefully this wouldn't affect their proposal...

Stryphe
"Somethin' about me you don't approve of, bub?"

"Stryphe..." Sey said, frowning at the demon. No... I suppose he wasn't a very tame demon at all. Moving her soft opal gaze to Cail, Sey waited for what he would do.

Stryphe
"Somethin' about me you don't approve of, bub?"

"I don't approve of demons much. Though I suppose a Gaian like you has a chance to prove yourself." Cail said plainly, a look of something close to boredome on his face that had been there ever since Sey had finished healing Joseph. He was unimpressed and not very moved by Stryphe's actions. And didn't move at all.

"Lady Sey, what was your business here again?" He regarded the cocky man before him as a minor threat; only one hand on his dagger. "I do believe we have to see Merielle eventually."

Joseph of course winced at the sting, but it was better than the prolonged pain he was going through. All he would have to do now is cut the stitches out of the sealed wound.

"Business?" Joseph nearly snorted, "I hope you do have actually business. Because, you know, trashing my lobby isn't exactly the best way to get me a contract. Yes, A~E will repair it, but we'll also be paying for it."

"'Scuse the bluntness there," He said as he straighened his posture out, "But I wasn't sure if economics was part of the Falician teachings."

That was another religion, one that trashed his 27th floor. Whoops! Joseph pretended he didn't think that... He still found it funny, he just didn't think it himself.

Joseph eyed Stryphe, and then Cali. That feeling hadn't gone away yet. ********.
