Rae grinned and began to walk. "Rina, where I come from, you don't have time to think about every possible outcome. With so much at risk, you have to think with your instincts, and go with them. No regrets." She looked down at her stomach and sighed. "Although I might have to work on my patience level now. Bringing 6 kits into this world with little patience would be bad indeed." She answered Rina last question with, "I don't really care myself, but it is a way to occupy time."

"Perhaps. In matters of life and death, there would be exceptions, of course." However, there were exceptions to everything. Rina found it a waste of time to amend all of her sentences to say such.
"But is so much of your time spent struggling to live in adverse conditions? From what little I saw of your tribe, life there seemed difficult, but not terribly threatening of itself. Were my impressions wrong?" Rina knew that the permanently frozen water would make so much as getting a drink impossible. And with everything covered in snow, surely few plants survived, so there were few plant eaters around, so there was little food as well. But even so, it did not seem like something that ought to threaten life as often as she thought Rae was implying. But perhaps she was misinterpreting Rae's meaning. That could be possible.
"Congratulations on your pregnancy." Rina wondered for a moment what it would be like to have a mate, and kits. Of course, to have the latter, she would have to settle down somewhere, if not in a tribe, at least in a single location for quite a long while until the kits grew up. Kits, she decided, could wait until after she joined a tribe, should such a thing ever happen.
And, of course, she would need to find a mate even before that. But she had no desire to go look for a mate. While there were plenty of modifoxes whose company she enjoyed, she did not feel any special attraction to any of them. If she did not love one of those whom she knew, then why should she go and seek out a mate? She would not give her entire life to a complete stranger!
((Whoo, rambly. And you have no idea how long I've been waiting to be able to use "whom" instead of "them/those". (It's a German class thing. )))

"But of course it is, my dear!" He said with a grin, shaking himself off as he stepped off of his mate, looking at her with a smile as the three BRCs attached to him moved slightly. "So, what do ya think of my new look, huh?" Shukaku laughed, looking down at the multi-colored red BCR attatched to his collar around his neck, then down at his front paws, one white and reddish brown, almost maroon colored around his left and a maroon red and sandy peach colored one around his right.
"Py-!" Before Yuna could even say hello, he had bounced onto her, now underneath him as she was pinned to the ground. "I'm doing good, except for the fact that I'm being smooshed to death by a certain fox I know."

Rae considered how to best answer this. "Normally, you would be right. On most occasions, we live in relative peace, with just the daily struggles to find food. But danger comes in several forms. Perhaps, we are not normally vulnerable to violence, but should the caribou leave our lands, we would be left with little food. That's part of where instincts come into play. If you do not catch your meal on the first try, there is a great possiblility you will be left hungry for a long time during the harshest part of winter. The deer and fish migrate, after all. Being able to think quickly is necessary during those long months. Or, there's the ever present threat of being caught in a horrible snowstorm. With no sight, sound, or smell visuals, you have to think about what you're going to do to survive."
She thought for a moment. "But yes, I suppose it is not always dangerous. And thank you."

"Oh, no I don't, my bones are being crushed with every second you lay ontop of me!" She said with a pout, standing up and shaking herself off before giving him a nudge in the shoulder with her nose. "At the moment, a little sore, but other than that, I've been doing well. How have you been, Pyre?"

"What, am I that heavy?" Pyre asked, cocking his head a little. He never knew when she was teasing. "You know, same old same old."

"Of course you are." Yuna said with a teasing look in her eye, raising her brow at him. "Same old, same old? What, nothing new? Exciting?"

"Perhaps the caribou might leave. Yet they have not. And winter affects all of us. Should it not be easier for you who live in the snow the whole year, and thus need not reacclimate yourselves to it, to hunt in winter? The animals migrate from here in winter as well. I do not know where they go, but I must assume it is somewhere much, much further to the south." While what Rina said seemed almost insulting in how contradictory it was, that was not her intent. She merely wished to clarify what she was unsure on. Perhaps she was misunderstanding Rae. If so, she could not be corrected unless she voiced the impressions Rae was giving her, so that she could be corrected if those impressions were not correct.
