I just realized that eek I haven't read that book, but I've heard about it, and what I've heard of it is that it's a kind of messed-up society like in Fahrenheit 451, but not quite. Where everyone is equal...now that's kind of the "fear" that's going on, where really communism is everyone is ECONOMICALLY equal. You don't have to all think the same way. Nothing will progress if that is the case. True, but for instance, look at what Stalin did to the orthodox church in Russia (when it was the Soviet Union) he took it away because he thought it was in a way brain washing them. He took it away so that there was no religion. he wanted them to think the same way as him without the church getting in the way. He wanted communism. Er...I also kind of think the church is brainwashing, but I'll keep my opinions out of this. Stalin really screwed it up. But he wasn't really communist. He just kind of thought he was. And I guess I can kind of see his reasoning behind that because religion sometimes encourages people to be lazy, in a way. The Soviet Union was socialist. They, and no other country, has reached communism, they havent been able to reach that far. All "communist" countries are Socialist because they havent been able to reach the final step: A nation without classes and no government.

I hate it when people say that communism is evil. How would we know what communism is like...when there hasnt been communism yet for anyone to see. We dont even know if would work. There could simply be a revolt couldnt there?

I still stand by my opinion that humans are too selfish, petty and stupid to work together as equals in anything more than small communities.

I think that you are half right. Humans are pretty damn stupid, I will be the first to admit that and I say it every day. But they dont have to just work in small communities. If humans learn to put aside their diffrences which will never happen we could work in a large group.

And hell even if we got past that, there's always gonna be one person who'd ******** it up just to say they broke the system.

There will always be the want /need to be better, it is human nature, there will always be competion. That is something that Karl Marx didnt understand when he made communism [sorry it was a fact sorry to bring it up again] Humans will always need a leader. I personally wish anarchy could work. But i know that it would never work. people would just keep dying for instance or the chaos would get so bad to the extent that something for drastic happens. Some one is always going to be in charge. they will say things to the public and make the people believe their point, and have the public issue he or she a leadership position. The human race is very gulable [sp?] Look at the German people with Hitler. In their time of need they thought that what Hitler was saying was true and they let him into power. That started part of a war [ i think that made sense] But my point is, is that as long as the human race is the way it is, there will always be one person in charge wether it is good or bad. Sorry That was a bit rantish

Communism is a good idea, but we need to face reality.

I can go on for HOURS on why communism only works on paper. But I will be nice and not force you all to listen to it...yet. I will say this though. Karl Marx must have been smoking a bit to much reefer if he really thought that Communism could ever work Sorry If that offended anyone.
