She noticed that too. "Maybey we should go a bit faster?" She said, indecating with her eyes to change the subject to whom ever is following wont know we know. "It will get us there faster."

Kareswen nodded and urged her horse into a canter. She didn't cause as much fuss as usual and Kareswen was able to strain her ears as much as possible. She still couldn't hear anything but she had the creepy feeling that whatever it was was getting closer. She shifted her position slightly, it was a subtle difference but it would make it easier to leap from the saddle if anything attacked. She didn't trust her horse enough to count on being able to fight without being unhorsed.

Allaire dismounted her horse, looking around frantically as her boots crushed a twig under her feet. She prayed that it was not a lioud noise, knowing that certain things had very good hearing. She hudled up, leaning her back against a tree and then sitting, holding her knees to her chest and keeping her breathing full, but silent. Her horse made more noise than she would have liked, but there was little she could do about her steed.

The two figures Kar was following picked up speed. He doubted they had seen or heard him yet, either their horses panicked or at least one of them was elven. Van slapped the reighns on the wargs back to make it pick up its speed to catch up.

She also strained her ears to listen in, but heard nothing. Then, a grunt. She turned to Kareswen and mouthed the word 'Warg'.

Kareswen nodded and gave a small grimace. Not only did it prove that their follower was an enemy but the wargs could possibly outrun and bring down the horses, leaving them stranded. She swore silently and watched Venrah carefully. She didn't want them to end up separated.

Kar decided to cut into the woods and stay out of their sight. The warg would be able to follow them with out seeing them by using its keen sense of smelling. And Kar didnt need to worry about it tiring, as wargs are faster than horses as well as a longer endurance for speed.

Nessa leaned her head back against the tree trunk and closed her eyes as she relaized how tired she was. Lately, she had not been getting so much sleep and she had no clue what time it was now. Sure it could be a few hours till first light, but this nigt felt like a lifetime of having to worry. Oh how she dreamed of the nights by a fire surrounded by friends and knowing someone was watching your back.

Kar leaned forward to keep himself from headcliping limbs as the warg ran with tall leaps. Several times Kar had to squeeze with his legsto make it slow down. He still ddint want to get close to the two figures, that would come latter.

Kar constatnyl had to keep the wargs attention on running. Wargs wre resialliant, strong, and amazingly fast but their attention span was less than impressive. As they were passing several twisted trees, Kar almost broke his own legs to keep it from pouncing on a figure in the woods. Kar couldnt tell what it was but it deffinately wasnt his marks. woever it was though, Kar knew they had to be a few pounds lighter after having a warg spring out towards them out of the brush. If silence wasnt so important, he mmight of laughed at the thought.

Allaire stirred slightly, her eeys fluttering in the still darkness. She shivered as her body temperature had lowered from not being active... for what had seemed like hours. She pulled the saddle blanket closer to her body. Although it wasn;t comfortable, she wasn't freezing. She rested her chin back on her knees, her neck feeling a bit tense, but it wasn't worth risking being noticed by whatever was lurking in the woods. The smell of the air changed.

Kareswen strained her ears again. Her legs were cramping in the saddle and whatever it was still seemed to be following them. She pounded her fist on the saddle in irritation. "This is getting stupid. I vote we stop and confront it head on. It can stalk us for hours and easily bring the horses down when they're tired. By then we'll be exhausted too. If we stop now and attack it we have a better chance of winning from the ground. There'll be two of us against one rider and the horses will provide an added distraction."

Kar's Warg crashed down next to another figure in the dark and again had to restrain it from grabbing the person and eating it as it had to the orcish bodies earlier. Again Kar reminded hiself to laugh about it later, because as of now he was stalking his targets. It was a little unnearving that they had picked up speed randomly, Kar knew that the only way the oculd of either seen or heard him would have been if one or bolth were elven, in which case he had the wrong party. But that would come later, becasue now, he just had to maintain his distance and noise.

Therendil had been following a figure on a warg for days not knowing if it were an orc or not. Now that it was getting closer to the elven party the lord knew he must take him out without killing it, for further use.
Therendil shoots an arrow into the arm of the rider. I hope will stop him he thought.
