"Bloody hell. I do not know a thing about the weaponry we have here. So Agent Murrue, would you please pick me something out." Phoenix said, looking over the shelves. He usually relied on his own innate abilities, but they were fizzling out at the moment. He then thought about his own experiments and sighed. "If you see a squid creature, do not kill it. I spent an hour resuscitating it this morning and would hate to see it blasted into mush." he added.

SK44 stood back and watched everyone arm themselves. They seemed to have forgotten about him. Now would be a very good time to make my escape, if I knew why I had to. He walked forward as he said to himself, "Well, I may not know why I am here, but it seems my only option at the moment is to help out." He pulled a Steyr AUG off of the gun rack and asked," Agent Murrue, where are the extra ammo clips kept?"

Agent error was not happy.
His suit was down and he couldent use repulsers.
"I'm off in the vents"
He reached up and pulled some mesh off the vent duct
"wish me luck"
He lifted himself into the vent it was bigger than he thought it would be but there was still only room to crawl.

Tso grabbed his custom six barrelled shotgun and a pair of M1911A1s and on top of a layer of ammo, he placed a mobile security station console, with its battery separated and placed in an electrically resistant container.
Hopefully the agents could disable whatever was creating the effect and Tso could retake control.
Returning to his desk, Tso enacted one of the protocols he'd laughed at when he first got this job. "G.I.B. Headquarters section 13 is to be considered compromised. All Air and ground defenses on the base exterior is now activated. All personnel are to arm themselves with at least a shoulder fired projectile weapon and are ordered to create a defensive perimeter around Section 13. Nothing leaves until Agent Tso or Agent Zi sounds the all clear. All personnel are ordered to await from further orders. Energy weapons and devices are to be considered possibly ineffective. Section is to be sealed in 30 seconds."
Tso slung his shotgun and quickly walked down the hall, gear in tow. He passed under the slowly descending blast door and into the seemingly doomed section. The door closed behind him with a ringing sound that echoed through the hall. Further down the hall he could see that the lights had failed.
"The darkness is my friend. Nothing bad is hiding in the darkness. There is sooooo not something evil about to jump out and bite my face off." With those last, ominous words Tso walked into the black.

The closer he got to the grunny containment rooms the weaker he felt.
Then he could hear it.
"...no..."
a red glow started to emit from his eyes.
He could hear them.
The call of the grunnies.
"Battle not with monsters lest you become a monster."
where his last words before his mind was over powered.
Normally this wouldn't have happened but the power drains had shut down his neural grunny inhibitor.

Zi patted her M249 SAW, gingerly, and turned on the light attatched to it. "She flashed in the faces of her comrades. "Has anyone seen Error?" she asked, a tad concerned. "I could swear he was here....."

"Err. Not recently." Phoenix said, looking around. "What exactly are we facing, Zi?" he asked casually, as the lights around them continued to flicker, leaving the agents in an eerie dark.

Zi shrugged. "It's doctor PH34R's work. I've only been in there once since he disapeared. Everything is taken care of animatronically in Sector G, because we don't want our agents exposed to Grunny... So.... I'm not entirely sure heart "

Agent Murrue responded to the flurry of queries that besieged her all of a sudden. "Agent Justice, most of our non-lethal weaponry is energy-based and thus useless, but feel free to grab an XM320-equipped M4 Carbine and load it with sponge grenades. Agent Phoenix, just grab a MK23, a Pancor Jackhammer, and an M4. Agent SK44, spare clips are kept along the side walls; be sure to select the appropriate ones for your firearm. Oh, and would you please stop flashing me in the eyes with the tactical light on your M249, Agent Zi?"

"Thank you." SK44 walked to the side wall, grabbed half a dozen clips of 5.56 × 45 mm tracer rounds and put them in his bag. "Okay, I will be ready in a minute. I just need to change the pull weight for the trigger." He walked over to the doorway, pulled out a small toolkit from his bag, and set to work on his gun.

"EEEP!" Zi squeeled, and lowered the M249. "Sorry." She turned to face everyone. "Okay," she said, "By now, Tso has followed protocall, and closed up Section 13. We have approxamately five hours to rid S13 of this little "problem". If we fail, Section 13 will be locked forever, and we will die. Any questions?"

"Yes. What about those of us who will not stay dead?" Phoenix asked, shrugging lightly. He aimed his weapon carefully then sighed. "Bloody hell." he muttered, waiting for exact orders.

"Hey! I finally found you!" Nite happily said, without her boxes and carrying a grey salamander. "Phoenix, wasn't this little thing one of your experiments? Why is it outside it's cage?"
Then she saw all the serious faces, and frowned. "...What happened? Why are you holding normal weapons..?"

"Oh there you are! You little bugger." Phoenix said, poking the small salamander. "We are having some technical difficulties." he said to Nite, looking up. "Energy weapons are offline. My powers seemed to have fizzled out. And we may all die in a few moments. Zi, am I forgetting anything?"

"Speaking on behalf of Zi, I don't think there's much more to add to your debriefing," Murrue said tersely. "Nite, just hand over the salamander to Phoenix and grab a P226, an MP5, and a Mossberg 590." With all the experiments loose, Murrue feared the absolute worst. Infinitely worse entities than Grunnies were contained within the maximum-security areas of Section 13. Even though they had been stripped of their equipment long ago, the Covenant incarcerated within the facility still posed a threat. The Flood, the Xenomorphs, and the Zerg were particularly dangerous for obvious reasons. The few Yautja that the GIB had apprehended alive were still formidable foes even with the handicap of not having their weapons and armour with them. The experiments Doctor PH34R had conducted with the T-Virus, Las Plagas, and their derivatives were barely contained even before the breach had occured; nobody could tell just what had happened to them now. Aliens brought over during the resonance cascade in Section 13 a year ago, including headcrabs, Houndeyes, Antlions, bullsquids, and the Race X aliens, were now free to wreak as much havoc as they wished.
