Ruby grinned, eager to do some sort of recruiting for the resistance. "A garage, huh? Have you ever thought about doin' soemthin in the war? I mean, I could find a place for you to stay easily enough, but it'd be up with Arch's Army. You heard of the resistance at all?"

Verve's eyes shifted to a light shade of green as he looked Hattie over. "This is no place for recruiting Ruby."

"Arch's Army?" Hattie repeated, ignoring the other person that had joined their conversation. "I'm not in to choosing sides. At the risk of sounding oh so Cliche," She paused a moment. "Can't we all just get along?!"

Ruby chuckled, "Sugar, that's the foundation of the resistance." She paused to lob a roll of bandages at Verve's head. "We just want some damned peace, so in essence we protect the right for folks to live an' be free. As for the other sides, well you'd only be able to join, an' they'd kill you if you didn't. The resistance is definatley the best side out there, with the the best commander too." She smiled. "But I'm partial...an' verve is just a wussy, who'd rather not try an help any of the other folks out." She threw another bandage roll at him. "An' no more of your x-ray business either, I know you were checkin out my panties the other day. "

"You want peace, so you make an army?" Verve ducked the first roll. "It's reasoning like that that keeps me away from your resistance." He dodged the second roll. "And she's only recruiting for that side because her boyfriend is Arch himself."

"Yes we make an army." She threw a box of bandaids at him. "Cause we need somethin' to stop the slave trades, an' we need somethin' to protect our backs when that crazy woman comes riding over with giant robot snakes. If you wanna sitback an do nothin' in some alehouse, feel free, but I hate feelin' useless." After emptying her entire first aid kit, throwing stuff at Verve, she took a deep breath and turned back to Hattie. "An' yes, he's my boyfriend, but even if it wasn't Arch leadin' this thing, I'd still be for the resistance. Both sides would have me an' my son dead, an' I've fought long enough to keep him alive, that I ain't gonna let someone take him from me."

Hattie looked between the two of them with her blue eyes. She scratched at her head of rainbowed dred locks and then spoke. "I figured she was with him by her eyes." Hattie said simply. "And hey, if they want peace, I'll join them. Better than fightin' bout nothin'." She rolled her eyes and plopped down on an empty bed.

Ruby smiled wide and stuck her tongue out at Verve when Hattie wasn't looking. "I suppose I'll be takin' you home with me later tonight then," Ruby nodded as she picked up some of the things she had been throwing at Verve. I think you'll get 'long right well with most of us."

Verve smiled, knowing he had accomplished what he wanted. "I never said she shouldn't join Ruby. I merely said that this wasn't the place to recruit." He pointed to a band-aid on the ground. "You missed one."

Ruby picked up the bandaid. "Well considerin' the shelter was started an' is mostly supported by the resistance....." She let the thought travel off, giving Verve a haughty sniff, before putting the bandaid on his forehead.
