Boltlock aims at the figure, pulls back the string, and watches as the arrow bounces off the target. "Perhaps a tactical retreat would be wise."

Skiverdra staggered to his feet after hitting the tree. "I will not let you hurt them," he snarled. "Instead, you'll be meeting your maker."

"It's pointless to resist, children. It's for the good of all..." The man replied as the ring flashed. The ground around Jean started to darken - a skeletal hand appearing behind him. Fingers wrap around Jean and clench tightly. The man closes his eyes and the hand begins to lower into the ground.
"Guys... GUUUUUUUYYYYYSSS!!!" Jean screamed before the darkness engulfed him into the ground alive.

Skiverdra saw Jean being enveloped. "JEAN!!" he yelled, "JEAN!!" He turned towards the mysterious figure, his eyes narrowing to slits. "YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT!!" he demonically roared, "I SWEAR THAT YOU SHALL PAY DEARLY!!" With that, he charged at the mysterious figure, intending to use his scythe to its full extent.

"You'll join your friend soon, child." The man replied. He waves his hand - the ring flashing once more - and blasts Skiverdra into another tree; skeletal fingers already waiting for him. The fingers clutch Skiverdra and - like Jean - lowers him into the abyss. The man turns around and looks at Chris and Boltlock.
"It's only you two left... relax... it won't hurt a bit."

Chris watched as Skiverdra was pulled into the ground. He then looks at Boltlock.
"I think I'll take your advice now," he said. "Let's high-tail it out of here!"
He starts to run away.

Boltlock makes haste to find the way back to the school grounds, making sure that distance was kept between him and the newly-introduced foe.

"You're not going anywhere, children of the rings..." The man replied as two more skeletal hands grabbed Chris and Confornio. "Rest in peace..." He said as both boys were dragged into the ground.
"Hey... Hey!" A familiar voice called out to Chris, Boltlock, and Confornio.

A shake can be felt on Skiverdra's shoulders. Opening his eyes he sees Jean holding a portable flashlight - a look of relief on his face.
"Thank god you're all safe too. It looks like that man's magic wasn't as potent as we thought - you are all here." Jean said. He shone the flashlight around. They were surrounded by dirt and rock - a passageway leading lower into the ground was the only thing around.
"Although... I don't really know where we are..."

Chris thought for a moment. The words 'Children of the Rings' moved about in his mind.
"Jean," he said. "Right before that shadow sent Boltlock and I down here, where ever here is, it called us 'Children of the Rings'. Do you have any idea of what it's talking about?"

Jean shrugged as he shook Boltlock to see if he was conscious. "The hell if I know, Chris." Jean replied. "I've never met this person before. Yet... his actions do disturb me. Why would we of all people be targeted?"
He looked around the cavern. "Well... there's really nothing left to do but find a way out of here. We should probably try that passageway." He pointed to the tunnel close to them. "After all..." He chuckled half-heartedly "...I don't think we'll be coming back the way we came."
He turned around and slapped Boltlock a bit on the face. "Hey... are you alright?"

"Now is not the time for fighting words," Chris said to Skiverdra. "Right now, we have to find a way to get out of here."
He looks around the area.
"I don't see anything," Chris said nervously. "How about you, Jean?"
