Hehe non-canon is a matter of preference. Sasuke may have darker hair but I prefer him to be the uke in any relationship >.>;;

I haven't thought about that but it is kinda true...
Though there are exceptions.. Like Gravitation and.. what was the name of that one I read just recently.... I think it was called Wild Fangs.. The semes have blond hair.

colonelhavoc Not really, I mean look at Yuki and Shuichi from Gravitation both of them have light hair. thats true but you do raise a good point and i can see where you see that opinion about the hair colour

Really I like my Uke's with dark hair, the light haired one Seme. Perhaps its a symbolism or something. Maybe light hair is supposed to represent a submissiveness >>; Who knows. but I guess its just a preference ^^; I mean hey Dark haired Uke's are the bomb

Not really hair colour but more hair style. The seme ususally has more adult looking hair and uke short childish haircuts.
Or the seme has long hair.

It probably is more on style rather than color. Since brown hair is usually dyed and black hair is normally traditional.
Then there's the case where some characters just look better with dark or light hair.
And in a lot of the manga I've read, they tend to shy away from black hair because it's harder to ink. One mangaka commented on how complicated it was to draw a guy with black hair AND glasses... over and over again. xD I think that's why it's rare to see a couple with both black hair.
Most of the yaoi manga I've read actually switch between the two but I have to agree that more than half are like that.
