In English, it seems like it's more and more common for me to pronounce /k/ as [q] in front of /o/ or /O/. It's not as common in front of /e/ and /E/, but it happens. So "common" ends up being pronounced ["qOm@n]. People seem to think it's weird. I wonder why.
Can you imagine the accent an Aymara would have if they tried to speak English? xd

Hey, I think I do that. Actually, its weird. My mouth starts to do a /k/, but before it is released it decides to become [q] halfway through for some reason. So its like I'm saying [k_}qOmIn], or something I guess.
And I have no idea what to think about that. "Xilu, xau ar yu that'ai! Aim xankri!" I think I did that a lot wrong, but anyway.

The least painful way would probably be...
Jilu! Jaw ax yu thatay! Aym jankri!

Oh, I forget'd about .
That sounds so silly. But I bet you could find an Aymaran with mediocre English skills woggling about, and he'd probably sound like that. Well, maybe a little bit better, since I suppose most Aymarans speak Spanish also, which would give them a couple more phones to make them sound less wacko in English.

About 30% of Aymaras don't speak Spanish, actually. This includes the younger generations, which makes EI happy.

...My god. I don't know how to react. Oh EI, what would I do for obscure language resources without you. Is the website not fully up then yet? I can't actually look at any lessons. And why website is in Latin?

It appears to be a very, very new website. That Latin stuff is the Lorem Ipsum, which people use for filler text. They're just testing the layout of the pages and are hopefully going to add the real text quite soon. If you look, the Spanish page isn't up at all.
I don't know why I got the urge to look on Google for juma aymara, but I'm glad I did.

Ah, I get it now.
I'm telling you, the gods themselves want Aymara to be learned. The hand (or foot) of fate is guiding you towards it.

Urg. The last date mentioned in the timeline was in late 2005. I hope it's still running.
