CasandraM For me it would have to be Wicked, I heard a lot of good things about it and the text on the back of the book (for got the phrase for it) made me think it would be fairly funny, but it wasn't really. I was fairly disappointed by it. Exactly how I felt about it too! People made a big deal about it back when the musical was first a big hit, so I decided to check it out. I got up to the discussion about Animals versus animals and after that I just couldn't care anymore. It wasn't at all what I thought it would be.

I was highly disappointed by Twilight and annoyed that I wasted my precious time reading it. My neighbor recommended it to me and I saw a lot of people saying how wonderful it is. Then my suite mates said the same thing so I gave in and read it. It sucked. I read The Road by Cormac McCarthy for class last semester and I didn't like it as much as my classmates did. They said it was pure genius and everything. I don't see how good it is. The setting was interesting but the whole journey between father and son was like "ehhh.. okay.. so what?" to me.

The most disappointing book for me would have to be the book about the Vampires with Cresent moons on their head.

Sorrows Strength I would have to say Good Omens, by Neil Gaiman. It was undeniably well written and imaginative, but it had gotten rave reviews for humor. I was disapointed to find very little humor in it...or perhaps just not my brand of humor. I was also disappointed by "Good Omens." I was lured in by the fact that it was co-written by Terry Pratchett, who is quite possibly my favorite author ever, but whatever adding Gaiman to the mix added, it wasn't pleasant.

Any book that did not captivate me with every turn of the page...
Warriors: The Darkest Hour.
Spoiler Warning: Mild (Highlight) Dissapointing and sudden ending to a marvelous series.
BUT!
Spoiler Warning: Extreme (Highlight) I was sorely dissapointed at Tigerstar's Death. What fun is it for the REAL villain to appear 200 pages from the end of the last book of the series!?!
The captivatingly dissapointing part is that she went on to write over 10 more books, and is STILL writing them! I haven't read them, though. After I read Eragon they just weren't descriptive enough.

Then my suite mates said the same thing so I gave in and read it. It sucked. i know the feeling about twilight sad i was in love with the first book, bored by the second, i don't even remember the third one, and the fourth was the worst. i was really interested in the beginning, i suppose bella pregnancy appealed to my morbid curiosity, but it had the worst ending i've ever read in a book. i think she could have written "and then she woke up, it had all been a dream." and it would have been better rolleyes

I was disappointed with "Capt. Hook" by J.V. Hart. I felt that Hook wasn't portrayed the way he should have been. :[

The Alchemist
I was expecting something profound and all I got was a biblical self-help book.

The Children of Men by P.D. James. This is one of the only cases where I've enjoyed a film adaptation more than an original book. The novel was too realistic. After seeing the movie and liking it very much, the tone didn't sit well with me, so to speak.

Argh. I hated the ending to The Dark is Rising novels by Susan Cooper.
So disappointing. Highlight to learn why: Basically, the series follows these kids saving the world. Then, at the end of the book, after they've finally won, they lose their memories. scream WHAT?!
I was so mad. >.<

I was very dissappointed recently by Heat Wave, supposedly written by Richard Castle. The author is a ficticious TV character (Castle on ABC in the States). I knew it wouldn't be great going in, but sheesh! I've read better fanfiction based on the same characters. I'd love to know what person (or people) really wrote the book, so I can avoid them in the future.
