Zera watche Asariel try to defy the older dragon, wanting to see the round things. Zera cocked her head. They were probaby gems and the adults wanted them for themselves. Zera sat subbrenly by the eggs. A few adults had tried to move her, but she had blown her breath at their claws. Now she was waiting to see what the round things would do. Every now and then one would wiggle and bring her attention to it, but nothing more. After a while though, she got bored again, and snow was exploading over her head, wich was becoming annoying. She got up and looked for some more trouble to get into.

An irritated chirping could be heard from a nest nearby. A red hatchling was attempting to pull the rest of the confining shell off of his body but was unable to. Finally the hatchling, in a desperate attempt to get free, ran headlong into a pile of rocks nearby.

Zera watched in amazement. A dragon had just come out of one of the round things! Zera ran forward to greet it, amazed. Was it some kind of magic dragon? She sniffed the dragon all over. It seemed normal to her. She sat and stared expectantly at the dragon, expecting it to do something specail, to prove itself to her that it was magic, I mean come on! It had just come out of a ball thingum! It had to be magic.

Asariel tilted his head to one side as he heard an enraged cheeping. It sounded a bit like an irritated bird, perhaps irritated because those damned chicks wouldn’t get off its leafy lawn. Curious as always, he wandered around until he located the sound: it appeared to be one of those vaguely spherical things! Except… as he watched, a little red hatchling attempted to climb out of it!!
“BLORT!!” Asariel said, puffing himself up in an attempt to make himself look bigger. His puffery stopped as the hatchling ran headfirst into a pile of rocks. Approaching innocently, Asariel perched on top of the pile of rocks and flipped one of the shell pieces out of the red hatchling’s eyes.
“Blort?” he said again, his first and only word.

Xran laid on his back for a few moments due to the dizzy spell that washed over him. "Rawkc........" Finally, he flipped over and shook his head to clear the haze before looking up. "BLORT!!" Two hatchlings had come into his field of vision, one blue and one black.
Bouncing to his feet and fluttering the wing stubs on his back, Xran waddled over to the two hatchlings with his chest puffed out.

Zera saw it puff its chest out. That was not magic or specail. Asariel did that all the time. Zera did her best to look frightning and reared up onto her back legs and let out a loud Raaaac as that was what she normally said and a spray of frost. She then sat down again trying to look threatning, but somehow she had a cute face on, not tough.
((Somehow I'm imaging Xran walking like a Zombie, arms extended and such. xD))

Once again, Asariel’s head was tilted to one side, but this time it was the opposite side as the red hatchling puffed out its chest, as if it was trying to be impressive.
Leaning close, he poked the red hatchling in the stomach with his tail and then bounded away, chortling to himself. He stopped a few feet away, waiting for the chase. While Zera was suspicious of the newcomer, Asariel was more… well, he was like a puppy. He wasn’t bright enough to suspect anything was different about the red hatchling. Sure, it was a little odd that it had popped out of one of those sphere thingies, but he remembered that he had been covered with that shell too. Maybe it was normal.
Zera’s behavior confused him a bit and he waddled closer before poking her too. “Rawrk?”

Xran bugled loudly and reared up at Zera and Asariel in surprise.....unfortunatly, due to his lack of balance.....he fell backwards into a shallow portion of the hot spring behind him. Now that was a shocker for any hatchling! Squealing at the explosive heat, Xran practically flew past the other hatchlings and towards the area were the adults were hanging out; he tried to get away from the wetness and the hurt but it seem to cling to his body, slowly chilling him to the bone.
(Note: He didn't actually fly, he was just waddling/running at a pretty good speed.)

Zera imeadiattly felt bad. Maybe this was normal, esspeaclly since asariel was allright with the other hatchling. Yes, she had admitted it was a hatchling. Guiltly, she ran after the hatchling and found him in a crowed of adults. She debated blowing a little frost on his back to cool him down or not, she sat down beside the hatchling, trying to keep him warm, since the rest seemed to think it was cold.

Dizzying footprints were left in the snow by Azariah, as he attempted to walk back to....wherever she was going. She swayed back an dforth as she walked, the world spinning around her. 'Too...much practice,' she thought, plopping down into Ping. Her tongue stuck out and she laid on her side, giving the look that she was dead. Her scaly eye lids closed themselves as she brought her tail close to her chest. Just a little rest. That was all she needed.......

Asariel watched the performance with amusement, glad that he had found a new friend, especially one as amusing as this one! He clucked happily, dancing from one foot to the other. It never occurred to him that the red hatchling was in pain or anything like that… he trotted forward closer to the red hatchling, still making his little clucking noise which was the closest he could get to a laugh at this point in his life.
But, as he became aware of the other’s hurt, Asariel’s demeanor changed a bit. Stones. He needed a shiny stone. It had helped Zera! It would help this one too! But, with all this white stuff on the ground, it was hard to find anything decently shiny. Whiffling an apology at Xran, Asariel sat down next to the red hatchling, trying to keep him company instead. It seemed like the right thing to do.

The pain faded slowly but surely as Xran snuggled between his two new friends. After a few moents, he rose to his feet still trembling from the experience; nudging both Zera and Asariel, he grabbed the stick and waddled off. The pain was all in the past, playtime was now!
Meanwhile, the irritated hissing of the adults could be heard from the edge of the hatching grounds. Someone....a human no doubt, had just entered this place. The sounds of crunching snow drifted in the air as a shadowy being appeared, a good distance away from the adult dragons.

Zera watched her friend pick up the stick and trot off. Zera playfull ran up and tackled the othe hatchling and then stole the stick and bolted off towards the woods. She had never made it into the woods before, someone always stopped her. Zera sat waiting, to see if the others would follow her or not.

Xran blorted in surprise when Zera stole his stick after tackling him; mimicing a battle cry he had heard two adults use (although is was higher pitch), he darted off after the female.

Zera darted off upon hearing the other hatchlings battlecry. She tryed not to stray to far from the nesting area, but didn't re-enter the clearing. Skimming just outside of it Zera darted over to where the older dragons were mummering to see what the commotion was. She dropped the stick in surprise.
