Those are creepy. But the only reason I was creeped out, I think, was because of what people had said about it, including the eBay text. If someone had told me it was a famous work of art that was in many fine galleries and museums, I woulda been fine I think. But, then again, I only looked at the thumbnails, I didn't want those dark images filling up my computer screen while I was in this dark room.

Well, I clicked the link, but it wouldn't open, so I went to Google and searched it myself because I was curious enough.
Everyone is saying how the doll is extremely scary, but the doll wasn't what scared me. It was the boy. The first picture was a full-size, which I was perfectly fine with. The second picture was a close-up of the boy's face. It made my blood run cold and the hair stand up at the back of my neck. The third and fourth pictures were discolored pictures of the painting. The girl, again, didn't scare me at all, and neither did the hands, but the boy did. After I looked at it I was extremely light-headed and started seeing black spots. I didn't feel ill, but I felt like someone had turned the temperature in the room up way high. I've been a bit on guard since then, since it's 2AM and weird stuff usually ends up happening to me. Not to mention I live in a haunted house.

I think the reason that some people feel discomfort more than others might be because some people are more sensitive/empathetic/whatever to supernatural things, or even paintings. I've seen people drop to their knees and start crying after looking at a painting (that wasn't claimed to be haunted).

Edit: I've also noticed that after looking at the painting I failed to feel very strong feelings (couldn't laugh, couldn't get sad, couldn't get angry). I think maybe because the doll's and the boy's eyes look so empty that people get that feeling as well? *shrug* I also felt like I was being watched.

Yea that is a strange picture.......The boy didn't scare me......I pitied him for some reason.....the kind of pity I felt for him was the kind of pity you feel for a trapped animal.....you would know what I'm talking about if you ever saw an mouse in caught in a trap

Really, I didn't feel anything more than a vague sense of unease and a desire not to look at them up close, but I really do believe that my reaction was due to the warnings. Never underestimate your imagination's power to psych yourself out.

I saw those pictures and it was quite dark outside for it was raining and the only light in the room was the computer. I felt very uncomfortable when I looked at them and shortly after, I heard somebody moving about in my room. SCARY!!!! eek

True. I do think that the warning and background history of the painting can let imaginations run wild while viewing the painting and I'm not so sure how genuine the doll and boy's "escape trip" at night is considering that those pictures of them having left the painting look edited to me, but there is still something strange about it.

As I explained, I saw the pics before seeing the warning and as I scrolled down, it was horrible. I had this feeling that I shouldn't be looking at the pictures. A very uneasy feeling. I've viewed the pics again since then and its a little better but I'm still uneasy. Like the disclaimers and warnings state, I definitely wouldn't want to have those images as my desktop background, printed on paper, or even saved on my computer!

Would you think i'm weird for saying I really Like this picture! I want a print of it.
I don't know why. I think it's the old man. There's something creepy about him but also...I don't know...safe? I don't think that's the right word. But I still like it.

No i dont find it weird at all. I actually love both of these pictures. Some of his art work amuses me a lot! (im the one that posted the picture of the weird doll on the first page) I like a lot of creepy stuff.

So i dont think its weird in any way.

I had heard about the sequel but hadn't seen it. Thanks for posting it. biggrin

No it's not weird to say that you like it biggrin . Actually, what is strange for me, is that though I´m horrified by the other painting I love this one! I think it´s really interesting and the colors are beautiful. I actually would purchase something like this and hang it up.

The old man looks so strong and determined and gives me this feeling of encouragement. Sure, that might seem a little strange but that´s how I feel about it. Plus, I abhor dolls and puppets and such so it makes me feel like he destroyed the doll, which is a good thing for me! 3nodding He seems like grandfather figure to me, something I never really had since both my grandfathers passed away before I could know them.

How much does it cost to get a print of Resistance or an AP or something of that sort? Is it even available for purchase? I haven´t been to Stoneham´s site in a while so I haven´t a clue.

I know that the current owner of Hands Resist Him is planning on or has already made identical copies and prints of the painting in accurate sizes and smaller sizes to be sold to fans; I emailed the owner over a year and a half ago and those were the plans.

BTW, if anyone is or was interested in purchasing a print of the first one, Hands Resist Him, PM me and I´ll give you the contact info of the current owner in charge of making prints to be sold. I don´t know about pricing though so you´d have to sort that out with the owner.

But I´m curious if the same will be done with this painting because I actually like it; my mother is an artist and she has lots of artist friends so she´s always being given nice works of art as gifts by them or purchasing artwork so we virtually have some sort of collection or domestic museum of sorts. I think this would be a great addition though.

Maybe this painting is supposed to cancel out the strange effects of its prequel similar to the Crying Boy and Crying Girl paintings legend.

I had the same. Only i must admit, i felt some weird vibrations from it. I started to feel like i'm going to throw up and my head started to tied up or something...
I'm sensitieve to negatieve vibrations. Especially when it comes to people. So i have no idea what is up with this painting. It looks more like a real picture to me. That doll is creepy and is projecting frustrations and boy, well, he is angry and mad about something.
By the way, i looked at this paintings at 16:04 pm to be exactly. And it is still creeping me out.

And this one isn't scary. It's more weird, but calm. Not aggresive, no frustrations. Normal painting.

Sometimes, I freakin' hate being a night owl...Other times I love it. This is one of the times that I hate it. Mind, I just looked at thumbnails, but...

Seriously, that pic gives off a REALLY weird vibe. I'm used to seeing some movement in the night; this kinda made the air get cold. It sort of made me become extra-wary at that.

I've seen that bloody picture before and I have to say I almost got sick. I viewed it with friends and we made some makeshift crosses and prayed a ton before we went to bed in fear of the visitors.
