It darted suddenly back into the woods, tail wagging for the split second before it was gone again.
Before Tesunie could form an opinion on why the critter had left, it popped back into view in the middle of a bush. Standing up, it now had a tiny rider, which appeared in every way like a regular, dark-skinned human with brown hair, but only a foot tall.
The tiny man pat the neck of his mount and saluted Tesunie.

Tesunie, tough on his knees, falls backwards landing on his butt from the shock of seeing this little person. After he takes a moment to recover, he stampers out, "H-h-hello?" He was uncertain as to what this creature was, but it looked human, and seemed to have intelligence as well. His eyes are still wide as he looks in surprise at this little person. He had never heard of anything like this, not even in rumors from the city.

(ahaha, sorry, at first I was laughing too hard to respond)
At first the tiny man covered his ears in an exaggerated gesture, but then he folded his arms over what looked like a squirrel hide vest. On his back quivered a quiver of arrows. He seemed to think that this was a very serious situation, and he was, after all, armed. He motioned for Tesunie to come closer.

Tesunie carefully followed the little mans gesture, not making any sudden moves. He just didn't know what to make of this situation. It wasn't like you met up with foot tall person everyday, well, unless you actually knew one that is. "My name is Tesunie." He figured he should at least introduce himself, maybe make the situation seem a bit more... natural.

The little man covered his ears again, making it a theatrical point.
"YOUR HEARING IS BAD, AND YOUR VOICE IS BIG," he insisted verbally, and again covered his ears in a dramatic gesture. He waited for acknowledgment before he would show Tesunie anything else, like the point of his appearance.

"Oh!" Tesunie immediately started to quiet down. "Sorry. I can get load when I am excited or nervous." He says much quieter now. He didn't consider the noise level at first, but now it was making some sense. His big load voice must have been deafening.

"Better," the little man relented. His mount began to move at his signal, stepping around Tesunie to sniff at the boy. "You do not seem to be injured. You also seem peaceful. This is good."
The fox stopped in front of Tesunie's upside-down face. "My name is Captain Liam Neliesh. I demand information from you based on my superior rank and age. What do you know of dragons?"

"Dragons? I would have to call them legends told to kids. Great stories. I have never seen a dragon myself." Tesunie keeps his voice down. He then sighs. "I would like to see a dragon eventually though." He then sat up a bit more, wrapping his arms around his knees as he looks at the small person again.
(Tesunie was only knocked onto his butt from surprise. Just an FYI. Doesn't overly matter.)

Liam must have been the tiniest disappointed man that Tesunie had ever seen. Even his mount's ears drooped. When he spoke again, a long moment later, it was with trepidation. "Where you not with the soldiers who have left Feretris burning?"

"I was with some people when I left that city. This is actually my first time out of the city." Tesunie looks up, seeing the stars clearly for the first time. "Hey? What are those? There so many of them here compared to the city." He points at the stars, wondering where all the other stars came from.

Liam let off a string of harsh-sounding words in his own tongue, growling them to the treetops above through a locked jaw and closed eyes. Once he had composed himself, he looked up to Tesunie through a furrowed brow. "If we were to find these companions of yours, could you speak to them about dragons for me? They are no fantasy, and you have no idea how much danger your people are in because of it."

"If I could find them, I would be more than happy to ask them for you. I got separated from then, and don't even know where I am though." Tesunie stands up, being careful where his feet are going. He would hate to step on something, or rather someone...
"Any ideas on where we should start to look?" He takes a quick look around, seeing if anything could help them.

Liam sighed with irritation. "Come with me," he said as he turned his mount around. "We will ask." Whom they would be asking he did not say, but he clearly expected Tesunie to follow him sans explanation, probably based on Liam's superior age and rank as aforementioned.
Liam stayed at a trot, which he thought would be a good pace for the long-legged giant, Tesunie. He headed west, deeper into the woods, as the sun rose to noon. He didn't seem to mind that they were missing breakfast and lunch.

Tesunie followed, keeping pace and trying to be extra careful. He would just hate to have a misstep and hurt someone.
After a short while, his stomach started to grumble and growl. Tesunie tried his best to just ignore it, but after a while longer, it was starting to get louder. Loud enough that Liam probably heard it.
(Didn't you use Liam for the girl that helped Tesunie escape the city? rofl )

Liam looked back over his shoulder. "Eat if you are hungry," he suggested. Turning back, the conversation seemed to be over. Liam didn't have any thing that would satisfy the hunger of a veritable giant.
