Kikue pushed off the ground, sinking her claws into the soft, moist bark of a tree next to her. The confusion was completely assaulting her brain as she clung to the tree trunk, gasping and panting and staring wide-eyed as a whole hoarde of seeminly starving rats pushed over the ground. Wha...what the?!
Her mind whirled. Rats? How were there rats; how were there so many? Where had they come from, was this some kind of trick by the labs? There were too many to be just wild!
They're like ants...everywhere!
The rats swarmed over the jungle floor, passing her as she pressed herself shakily against the tree. She could smell other Islanders mixed in with the stench of the rodents...
"Run!!" Kikue shouted, her voice almost cracking. She had no idea if anyone would hear her. Gods how she hoped someone did.

"Run WHERE?" Sid yelled back at Kikue. He sure as hell wasn't going to take off into the jungle, no matter how blitzed he was. There was a satisfying thwack and squeak as he managed to send one of the rats airborne... he wasn't so sober that he couldn't laugh at that.

The rats eventually are dislodged from those they try to chew on and scatter into the jungle, at least as terrified of the screaming, stoming, yelling, and flailing islanders as they are of the rats.
The whispery chittery noises die down, leaving the group once again to the night calls of the animals in the jungle, and the crunching of their feet on the pathway.
Another hundred feet into the jungle, and....
The lights begin to flash in unison, creating a red strobe effect; with the addition of the mist it makes it more difficult to proceed, aiding the creepy feel and making everything seem jilted. And then, for one heart-stopping moment, you think you see what caused the rats to flee. A gut-wrenching insane snarl preeceds by only momets A massive beast lurches out of the trees from the side. Its teeth bared with mad eyes, claws poised to rend and tear. Tussled dark brown fur frames the lupine figure that flies directly into the center of the group from the side.
((Gaius. Congradulations. You're in the center. Make a d10 roll.))

Miller continued to kick at the ground in a frantic dance trying to knock as many rats aside and avoid hitting F at the same time, "I don't know JUST KEEP KICKING!" Up along the path he heard a girls voice screaming to run, but he refused to leave F and wide up alone again.

Marshall had been furiously trying to make the rats at least get away from his pants, and the last thing he expected was to be knocked over by Gaius. A loud "OOF!" was admitted amongst all the confusion, as Marshall lost his hat yet again, and perhaps the last time as it was immdiatly swarmed by the vermin.
"G-GAH!" Marshall yelled in a panic, getting to his feet as fast as he could, swiping the rats off of him in a hurried panic. Damn things were all over the place!
But that was the least of his problems as the lights began to flash and a snarling beast came out of the forest, coming right towards Gaius.
NO!

Richard continued to swing wildly, at the ground. Managing to keep most of the rats away from his feet. Those that came to close were stomped on. His sandels were getting slick from Rat guts.
He looked at Gallen and almost smiled, "Its a sick one. A very sick joke."

((Responce to private GM note biggrin ))
As the effects of the last sedation coursed through him, there was a whirring and sudden silence from his collar, the light showing it's activation suddenly going dead. He gave a groan, the rats swimming in and out of his vision. He hated rats. No, he hated rats. In a sence that completely justified the italics and bolding. When the blissfull state of sedated stupidness began to ebb away, the feeling crawled back into his gut and he gave a fresh scream, struggling in his chair as though ready to flee, despite not having a foot to stand on.

Gallen started finding it hard to breath from all the excitement. He worked to keep moving. "Yo, kid!!!" he shouted to Miller, "I think they have all lef......" That’s when he heard the loud snarling and sounds form way up ahead. "Oh s**t."

Ginerva managed to get up from all the rats, and caught up with ehr present quarry. "Don't think on it, Hairy man..." Then, the flash. She watched intently to see the result, already thrilled with the events thus far. Her hands clapped together in delight.

Newt wasn't helping matters. Thom did not want to be clung to, Thom wanted to be able to stand freely and beat the hell out of anything that dared approach him. However, Newt's girlish shrieks had the double effect of keeping Thom from beating him--because he clearly wasn't a threat--and keeping most of the rats away and searching for easier dinner. When the rat's finally disbanded, the frog man determinedly clinging to Thom's arm was enough to prevent him from rushing after them to kill the lot. He wasn't going back. He wasn't. He didn't have to...
He resumed walking when it finally occurred to him that he was still with a group, giving Newt an awkward pat on the arm to calm him and even muttering an apology under his breath. And then...flashing lights, rabid wolf woman. The haunted house was back, and, memories past, Thom was not impressed.

People were shrieking and screaming left and right, the sheer volume echoing towards Alec's ears and raising his level of anxiety higher. He continued his attempts at removing the rats off of Billy and the nooks of the wheelchair but his oversized clown shoes weren't helping a bit. In a flash they were gone, every one of them, only to be replaced with a split-second of terrifying silence.
He barely had time to turn when he heard the sound of the violent beast as it crashed into the center of the group, too far for him to tell who had been the target and what the furred creature was. Panic and terror ripped through the teen as he abandoned Billy to stare in horror towards the area of attack.

Gaius had kicked off the last rat when the lights began flashing, making what had already been a spooky atmosphere all the stranger. It was like everything was going in slow motion.
He saw the eyes. He saw the fur. He remembered the day, the blood and howling. Fiona, dead.
Gaius stumbled back and gaped, unable to even cry out in his shock.

Zach turned around with a snarl, on edge thanks to the various creepy things the trail had to offer. It took him a moment to recognize who'd run into him - Gaius. Chicken wings.
He didn't get a chance to make a snide remark, as lights began to flash and forced him to blink and look around. And then something came out of the jungle... a beast... brown hair... sharp teeth...
Was that the wolf that Sid had warned him about, deep in the jungle? Why had he decided to go? Why? He couldn't stop himself from hissing at the sight of the monster, his muscles unresponsive. There were too many ways to run away and his mind couldn't pick one. Goddamnit.

F shuddered slightly as the crawling rodents ran on. He continued on with the line, allowing the kid behind him to stick close.
The fleaman completely missing the movement of the shadow beyond the lights when it flashed past, but certainly wasn't ignorant to the snarl. "Va's no' good.." he murmured, instinctively ducking low.
