How big would a ship need to be to carry a single wing of fighters? Would my Vic be big enough?

You'd have to turn it into a flying box. Dump most all of the weapons, shrink the power plant, remove all the concussion missiles, cut troop space, and add tractor beams.
It'd be easier just to update the old escort carrier design... a flying box.

although it might (if its fighters are destroyed) be easy pickings for an enemy ship.

ENS. Edson although it might (if its fighters are destroyed) be easy pickings for an enemy ship. Its the trade off. You cant have it all. There must be compromise. Besides, an escort Carrier never travels alone.

If I hit it with the Transverter, it might as well be. Or even mines would work

You missed the point entirely. Go to the OGG, and look up the LT Transverter

No, you miss the point entirely.
If Link ever goes pirate, I'm definately taking note of your lack of understanding about the concept of "Escort". If I'm lucky, you wont understand the idea behind "Convoy" either.

Dude, I'm not stupid, but tell me how much a group of caught-unaware escort ships and a carrier huge, ancient, and likely undermanned would face against three EMP mines?

Depends on the caliber of EMP mines.

The LT Transverter (if it would go, which it isnt) would take them all out. However, most I can probably scrounge up is some mid-grade mines; easy to acquire, and barely enough to do what is needed

They'd short them out for a bit. Youd have to be fast to beable to capitalize on their moment of weakness. If they're military grade ships, it would occur as nothin more than a hiccup in the systems where some bored tech would lose his saved file in the game he's playing.
