I like roundhouse kicking then finishing off with 360 roundhouse. I also use spinning kick a lot (i dont know if anyone else does chundokwan, but it's like a reverse hooking kick except you keep your foot straight and hook it after you hit). My favourite defense move is the footsweep. Because im a junior (and relatively tall) I hate people going in close scream ! If that happens i usually backick or backside kick them.

Since I'm purely taekwondo(and really need to return, hopefully soon) My favourite kick overall is the hookkick, its more of a fancy kick most would say, but its very devistating if done correctly, same with the counter, which Meowmeows will continually complain about me giving her a cuncusion from, and I'll continually say sorry.... But yeah, With its built up momentum from spinning its not only fast but strong from making contact with your heel or the ball of your foot. mostly from the previous weight that was positioned on your back foot, which in taekwondo and probably most other martial arts that practice it, is where your hookkick begins, as you then spin you pivet your back leg on the ball of your foot(turning towards your back) and bring your back leg in towards your chest, bending at the knee, and fire it almost straight out towards the side of your oppenents head like a back kick, then snap it over in what almost seems to be if you slow it down a b***h slap devilivered with your foot(bad saying for teaching little kids) and then with that force the rest of your body turns and follows and you should have either landed your foot in the same place as originally taught, or In front, which they want you to do know for quicker launches and more attacks... Well, that was probably a pointless post explaining the hook kick and such but, eh, if a mod doesn't want it they can always change or delete it.

A favourite sparring technique of mine is to hook kick the guarding hands then turning kick into the face. There's a split second when you've just pulled their hands down with the hook kick and are just about to fire the turning kick and you can see the the look on your opponents face as they're staring at you foot knowing its going to hit em in the face any second xd its moments like that I cherish xd The spinning one is great too, I like the way that you can spin as fast as you can then stop dead by transfering all the power into target and have the leg in a perfect position to fire a turning kick back in the other direction. Obviously all these things are only useful in certain sparring situations, I'd never use it if your oponent could attack below the belt as you'd be opening yourself up to a world of pain... makes me shudder just thinking about it

I like the spinning kick better because I think it's an improvement on the hook kick, it's very similar except you dont hook the kick until you've actually hit your opponent and then you hook it. This addition means it has greater range (vertically and horizontally) and if you are in too close then you can hook it at the end and pull them down. It might not suit everyone but it's my best kick and IM LOVIN' IT biggrin biggrin

Sounds like what we'd call a reverse turning kick, not a great fan myself, mainly because I'm not so good at it sweatdrop I really hate having to break boards with it and unfortunately its one of the kicks I quite often get asked to break boards with... and in a sparring situation I find a hook kick is better as it causes less destruction

I like it because being relatively tall, I can bring it up high and drop it down which generates an incredible amount of power (our club favours it because it's much more versatile than the reverse hooking kick).

I have defeated all with my special tecnique the "Dragon furry three step retreat forward stomp dragon tail cannon"first you rush in front kick roundhouse back kick take three steps forward to scare them take a few steps back to taunt them,When they come to attack stomp on the ground with a big fake step to throw them off balance the take a quick step TURN jumping spinning back kick! this move has had a 100% succes rating. It has won matces agaist many tough opponents and has inpressed My master's Master from Korea who has an 8th dan.He acctually came up and said"Your movements are very fast and powerful"it was cool.... mrgreen

Tommy, I don't really see how that move of yours could have won, Its clear to say that when someone stomps, there movements become slow from there weight being thrown into the stomping foot, which means any kick coming right after would be slower or atleast less powerful, and if you wait to attack your should most likely have to defend because most people with this reasonable knowledge would understand that "hey, its just a stomp" and keep attacking. And wait if they stand there ground and just block then counter when you do your roundhouse backkick at the begining, you'll charge and and they'll kick your head in, its seems foolish to actually say that this move will have 100% success rate because then everyone who did it would always have it work out for them, which isn't true, because unless you've faught your oppenent before or watched tons of their sparring matches then you don't really know there style and how they fight.((ps. your name for it is too long and kinda stupid sounding))

I'm not a fan of jumpy spinny stuff in sparring except when you're messing about, it leaves you too open

I love taunting... because I'm short but stocky, I stomp to scare them, and they usually do get scared.. it doesn't work on me though! Anyway I usually use round kicks and then a back spin kick, and if that doesn't work I turn quickly, sliding my foot along the ground. I have fast footwork, and I still refuse to be on the competition team!

The stomps usually don't scare to many experinced fighters, all they see it as is a chance to move in and strike while your foots coming down on the decent. When you say round kicks do you mean head level or torso? either way those are probably the fastest ones that hold the most power(with the spinning of the hips and all) but a straight on snap kick is well enough to make someone keel over.(if you got the leg strength)

I'll just meet you with round-house to the ribs or the head. In most Louisiana tournaments that I go to, you can kick your opponent in the crotch. It comes in handy when fighting the high kickers, you just drop backwards onto your hands and your butt and lift your front foot to their groin. It takes alot of practice and timing, but they won't do another high kick for the rest of the fight. It also helps if you have long legs. xd

Yeah I'm always extremely gratefull I have a cup when I catch a full on blow down there but they do have an unfortunate side effect of increasing the target area... sweatdrop I once caught I backkick to the cup that actually knocked it sideways trapping my balls between the cup and my leg. Very very painful
