There was the sensation of falling--- the buffetting wind cutting against his body---
And then---- ohh----!!
Everything went black, as something went hurtling past Vahn.

Vahn's desperate gambit paid off. By catching the wind he managed to slow his falling enough so that Viper's limp form would fall past... then darkness.
Both fighters plummetted, battered, beaten, bruised, and exhausted beyond compare. It was only a few short seconds before twin impacts echoed throughout the crater that had once been the stadium.
Had there still been anyone left to watch the final moments, their breaths would have been held. The first to hit... was Viper.
