Peach was my best character, she might become second best if Sonic does show.
Now on the Smash bros site, it's stated that there will be a much more detailed adventure mode, and thus, make the characters seem more involved, thus making for a cool little story. Thus if Sonic is in there it should be awesome.

the chances of Sonic as a playable character do seem bleaker to me.
(But who knows? They might pull a surprise on us when it's reeeallly close to release day. razz )
Now, I have a new question at hand: If not as a playable fighter, do you think Sonic would make it as an Assist Trophy?
As the site puts it: "Assist Trophies allow you to enjoy even more characters who couldn’t quite make it as playable fighters."
It's like Pokéballs, only with assorted characters. What do you imagine he'd do as an Assist Trophy?
I think it's likely. They may make him (and possibly Tails and Knuckles) one just to appease the people who wanted to see him so much in Brawl. razz
As for what I can see him doing, he'd probably be Spin Dashing back and forth across the stage's surface.
Or he could charge up and unleash the Light Speed Attack from SA1 upon your foes. surprised >>Caught in her DELUSIONS

I'm currently waiting for the video on the site to load. I can't go to sleep tonight until I see the blue blur in action!
But man, this seems like a dream....I had always hoped Sonic would appear, but I didn't want to get myself too worked up. : P
I want this game even more badly now!...

MAD for a seraph<<When I found out about this news late at night, I was trying so hard to
restrain myself from screaming because there were people sleeping. lol
So, like I asked in the other thread before it got locked:
Any speculations as to what his other moves will be?
What's his stage gonna look like? Will his pals make it as Assist Trophies?
Will there be Sonic-related items and power-ups?
The video pretty much confirms that his Final Smash will be transforming into Super Sonic.
One of his special moves, of course, will be the Spin Dash. The spring jump could be either an item or his Up+B special.
And it seems they're using his move pool from Sonic Battle for his regular attacks.
I think Green Hill Zone would be his stage. I'd love to see that rendered as a Smash arena. whee
I'd love to see Amy as an Assist Trophy. rofl As for power-ups, I can totally see the element shields from Sonic 3.

whee I been checking out the smash site for a while, so when I checked a thread that I sometimes post in had someone confirm the rumors that Sonic will be in Brawl. It makes me want to get my own Wii Sooo badly!!! whee

Side B: Spin Dash
Down B: Spin Charge
Up B: Spring Jump

Well, Sonic in Brawl is just awesome news. heart
I'm also so happy to hear so many old-school sound effects in there. n.n
AND SONIC 3 LOOSING BALANCE POSE IS MADE OF ABSOLUTE WIN!!! heart

Sonic's Final Smash is revealed at the end, and it's not Super Sonic Overdrive like I'd hoped.
I hoped it would be that because it would've been a great way to put in Tails and Knuckles as cameos. razz
Anyway, moving on. Sonic's Final Smash is just basically him transforming into Super Sonic...
BUT DAMN. HE SURE IS GODLY WHILE HE'S AT IT. eek
Super Sonic can fly around, never falling. And all he has to do is merely touch his enemies to cause massive damage.
And look, he could chase Link offscreen and add insult to injury. eek

I was just digging that possible throw move that he was pulling on DK (spin dashing on TOP of someone!? Ouch!!! XD).
And yeah, I'm also thinking that Sonic's stage will be Green Hill, or some other level that screams of the classic game's style. I could imagine there being badniks roaming the stage, too. Maybe even Eggman in the good ol' wrecking-ball-swinging......thing he flies. : P
