It was not a fun run. No. Kalis could see the forest, and he was getting darn close, pretty quick.
But for the third time he went around a small, unnatural looking thing he wouldn't have seen if his head had been above the grass. Someone had been busy while he was napping. Just thanking goodness no one especially quiet had come toward his little hovel.
He wasn't happy. But he kept his eyes open for any disturbances in the grass when he peeked up, and for oddities while it was down.
Getting near the edge of the forest, though, he caught something behind him, moving in the plain's tall growth. Tucking his head down, he made a run for it, only slow enough to keep an eye open for things he'd want to jump over or around, going back into those trees, fearing that whatever was behind him might have seen him.
((No problem Sunny. I actually almost feel guilty not landing on a trap/shade, basically getting killed by something for being here, even though the way he came is probably much clearer than the others, considering they'd have set up starting after he came through.
And just to note, Kalis flees into the forest in this post, I'll post him entering there as soon as I finish eating a quick dinner.))

"Hmm..." Flare said, following his game. "The bits of the dam are just floating there...if only we had an aquamancer...or explosives..."
Wait...didn't they have some shades who had been using ice magic? And where was that skinny guy with the exploding arrows?
"Not at all," Flare waved to Noel. He failed to get on her nerves, and was in fact a welcome sight, as were any reinforcements. And he could fill her in on what she needed to know for her plan. She smirked, muttering 'just on cue...' "Tell me, as far as the magic-using shades we have here, what are their capabilities?
"I want to move those pieces of the dam floating in the lake. Or destroy them. And I don't want to be in the water or hanging around for long to do it."

Sun reached up, scratched the side of his nose and pondered. They were a bit closer....
"Is would definatly be an "in" "out" procedure." His grin was feral underneath the hood. "I obviously don't have too much time left to me here, so we gotta work quick."
Not too much time? Did he mean Vahn? Maybe. There were also a lot of other problems he was coming up against. The shields were slowly driving him up the wall, and any little thing made him jump in surprise and paranoia. He kept having to remind himself not to be afraid of the shades.
Owle owes me a drink when I get back to Firebrand...
"Right, Flare, we need some ice bishops plus that wind one by the river and then we're gonna take a stroll to those ruins..."

Flare nodded, choosing not to question him about not too much time. He didn't sound like he thought he was going to die, so she let it be. "Alright," she agreed. "I trust you know these shades better than me."
She motioned for some of the Ice Bishops to follow them are she walked alongside Sun.
...and just in case, her hands began to glow.

That decided, Sunstrike headed off towards the river trying to mimic the movements of the shades that he passed, it was quite startling how he started to blend in.

Flare walked a little bit faster to keep pace, reflecting that she might lose track of Sun entirely in the midst of the shades if she didn't stay right by him.

And Hakan was awake, finally. And hungry. That was the first thing he noticed, really. The second was how damned sore he was. But hey, food was first priority, or else he'd be too distracted to shoot.
With a stretch and a yawn, he began looking for something to eat. He'd find where he should go after breakfast. Or lunch. Or whatever you wanted to call it.

Ah, food was a wonderful thing. It made a man feel so much better. And though there hadn't been much around the camp, Hakan had at least gotten something. So, now it was time for battle again.
And thinking about the day before, he wanted those ruins back. Except they couldn't take them if the enemy kept getting reinforcement. The logical conclusion? Take out the bridge.
Avoiding the enemies themselves for now, Hakan made his way towards the Sunrise River.

Grass, grass everywhere. Memories of times gone bye and a knowlege on the lack of rain and the fact that the river had not flooded the area ment the grass was fuel for the flame.
"My, my my. Enemy territory, let's burn it."
On the edge of that field Quin took out his second flintlock, the special one with the warp stone and fired his fourth round with it. Only six remained, but the magical fire would catch the fields into flames that would spread with time.

Joseph Brown, reminding everyone The first line was fifteen aditional pawns, ten of which equip with various melee weapons. While the last five each had dark matter powered crossbows. Slower to reload, but deadly if their aim was true. Five hulking rooks came behind those, four of which armed only whith their fists. The center rook had two horns as if he was wearing a helmet, as well as a stone slab slung over his shoulder. The bishops came next, two shadow, one fire, one ice and one wind (went to the river) . Each wearing makeshift robes to designate the spells they could cast. "Cheerio folks!" Apparantly Noel had recovered and was down to assist in these defences. Wheater that would just grate on Flare's nerves was another question. Noel was a null mage, capable of weilding non elemental force. He also had the ability to sacrifice all his magical abilites to let the fearal shade inside of him take over, and become a bezerker. The null mage was acompanied by four armoured shades, each with a sash slung over one shoulder. They each had a tower sheild and a polearm that looked just like a sphere on a stick. What made them special was the runes covering that orb and their large sheilds. These where the preist-protectors of the shade army, capable of taking on the elemental alignment of whatever bishop they were protecting. "I'm not too late am I?" Noel commented in hopes of finding out who was in charge. 29 Reinforcements.

Stryphe had managed to locate some spare clothes some of the shade drones would sometimes use in the Crescent Outpost. The suit had long become too much for him to take- not enough room to breath. The pair of baggy, camoflage pants and combat boots he found amongst the supplies would suit the environment well. He stripped down to his boxers, drawing no attention from the Shades at all. His lean, tighly muscular body would only be half exposed for much longer- he'd decided to go shirtless. It felt great.
"Much better," He approved, sounding deeply relieved. He tossed the tattered business suit into the supply crates. Maybe a Shade would end up using it.
He'd almost left the suit behind before realizing he'd left an item in his shirt pocket. Before leaving the encampment, he would retreive his aviator glasses and put them on. The comfort and attitude of his new, more appropriate, wardrobe was almost too good to be true. And it would only get better soon.
Stryphe commanded four pawns to follow him to the Twilight Woods- unknowingly straight towards the enemy forces.

"Heh," Shouyin ran up beside Quin as the man lit the grass up. He'd noticed the startings of a base before entering into the ruins during the siege last night, but he could only assume the place was better equipped now. As such the half-golem crouched down away from the flaming grass, peering over the edge of it with the assault rifle, only to spot some man accompanied by four monsters starting to exit the plains.
So, cue two bursts of three bullets, aimed at Stryphe's stomach then using the recoil to fire at his chest and head, with a short pause in between bursts to recover.
"Quin, company."

(( Also to reiterate: Quote: This place is now an area that is off limits to players wanting to have an easy walkies through the fields. Booby traps, trenches and other nasty little guerilla type armaments, including some vicious stone barriers from the Jagged cliffs run through out the large expance of mostly harmless seeming grasslands. Enter at your own risk. )) So I'd appreciate y'know at least a little, "Y'know. maybe I'm caught off guard by a rook that stomps me and my flame. Thank you.))
