I would be active, but you guys are exactly into the same bands I am.
I have tonnes to say about Pink Floyd.
But everyone is pretty unintrested.

Another Classic Rock guild has started.
(the one in my sig)
and in they're week or so of existance, they've done pretty well.

I guess with 7 people who post, things end up going in circles though.

I'm interested in Pink Floyd discussion. >_>

And yeah...I do see your point. That's why we're trying to recruit new members, so we'll have more active ones.

How the hell we ended up with 23 inactive members is beyond me, though.

We should probably start PMing people who aren't posting at all, and asking if they're planning on using their accounts or not. However, I'm too lazy to, so I'll have to see if anyone else will take over this job. >_>

EDIT: I've just checked, and assuming I counted correctly, and am remebering the amount I counted correctly, we currently have 42 members. about 6 or 7 of us out of THAT many are active. Yeah, that is sad. sweatdrop And ironically enough, one of the inactive people is apparently a mod here.

Yea, I'll have to agree with Pizza Guy...if the members of this guild really...(emphasis on REALLY) cared about the music...they wouldn't have just joined...made a couple posts, then left. But why would people make other classic rock guilds when this one is pretty much the best and most original? There is no need for zillions of different threads on every classic rock band that ever existed. If one has a thorough discussion about Pink Floyd, they end up talking about Zeppelin, Yes, and the like. Same with my thread, The Grateful Dead influenced a lot of bands, but there's no need to single them out and take up space when you can talk about them through The Grateful Dead. Moderation is key and starting other guilds that are just like this one is ... well ... for lack of a better term ... stupid. Well I've thrown in my two cents.

I honestly think it may be (partly) ignorance. It seems to me that some people don't know that this guild exists, so they think "Hey! We need a classic rock guild! Let's start one!" However, this clearly isn't ALWAYS the case, as Slash 86 proves.

Okay,I would just like to point out that the other Classic Rock guild has pretty much the exact same threads as us.

I think there are three classic rock guilds total, last time I checked. They have more mebers because it's free to get in.. Think the entry fee is discouraging people from joining? Tell me if you guys think I should lower it/eliminate it.

I think the entry fee should be eliminated. If this guild needs any gold at all, just ask for some donations. I woudn't have a problem donating. I don't spend my gold on much of anything.

It's possible. We need to do SOMETHING to get new members in...so, let's try it. If this guild ends up needing money, I'm willing to donate (I can pull up some good money to donate on the spot, if necessary) and I'm sure some other regulars are, too. 3nodding

Yea, I'd definately donate. There's not much I'm spending on these days either...I am content with pretty much everything.

I just think that we have to accept that not many people on Gaia like classic rock.Or just don't have good grammar.

I've seen classic rock fans all over Gaia...ones who know how to type. posting it in the wrong sections, so they're here, they just don't know about the guild...yeah, I usually try to get a post in on those threads as a hint, but I can't always do that. (I'm not going to do that if it's a spam thread near the bottom of the page, already >_>)

Every forum needs a chat thread for some random talking, so here's ours.

So, anyone been to any concerts recently? I myself have seen Van Halen and Marshall Tucker Band, but that's about it. Not counting local shows, that is.

Not go to concerts till you're 18?!?!?! That is insane. I'm 17, I'll be 18 in November and I've been to tons of concerts. But then again my folks are pretty laid back.

Eh, it depends. My dad wouldn't let me go to concerts until I turned 17. Due to that I missed out on the ******** Iron Maiden/Motorhead/Dio concert, because of "all the dopers that would be smoking there"......it turned out that they ********' thoroughly searched everybody at that venue on the way in so there WERE NONE. stressed
