[Sorry for not posting sooner, I'm distracted by my buddies. ^ ^; We spent four hours at the mall, strutting about and poking fun at each other. I'm not worried about whoever sees this, but: I love this roleplay. It is by far, the most well plotted and original work I've seen in years.]
Zanari easily ignored Ulrich's indignant huff, the dragon had always been rather childish concerning his own wants. Hearing Kyala's words, the green haired woman keeps her apathetic posture. Within herself though, she once again can feel a mixture of unforgiving excitement and anxiety. Once the BatteLance had given out the needed bands and patches, her golden eyes briefly glanced over her own. Even in that short moment, it gave her a sense of...well, just something to come that she must do. Not even just with the sense that she must do it, but also that she will, and would like, to do it. Kyala's short explanatory speech was over, ending in imply to their new items for upcoming battle. Once a dismissal was given, Zanari turns and mounts onto Ulrich, grabbing a corner of his wing and stepping on his spiked shoulder.
With his Rider seated, the dragon gives another grin to the other pairs and turns, easily stepping up the stone stairs to turn into the corridor. Ulrich blows some smoke from his nostrils in a sign of thought. "I just got the tingles when she said that. 'Sweep Crew, the Winged Lances.' Doesn't it sound fun? Most of the time, we'll be right into some action. It'll gives us a good work out, even if sweat dragon isn't the fondest of scents...hey. If Drake is the Captain, would that give Shade any authority? Oh, I think I'd die." In the few times he has encountered Shade, Ulrich and him just haven't been on the best terms. Now letting Zanari down to enter her room through her human door, Ulrich squeezes through his larger door and settles in a slight depression in the floor, where his mass, over the years, has worn it down to be comfortable for himself.
"Exercise will be beneficial for us and hopefully keep your girth under control." Those are the only words Zanari replies to Ulrich, not answering his last question. This is just to mock him a bit, let his own draco imagination run wild. Recalling what Kyala had mentioned, the half faerie goes to a neatly laid out bunch of armor. It's reflecting surface gives her a dim glimpse of Ulrich staring at it as well. Wanting to be sure Ulrich's armor fit properly, she picks up a few of the larger pieces and hauls them over to the dragon. Helping him with some of the latches, her hands hesitate as he begins to chuckle.
"Careful now, that tickles! Be sure to grab your letter after you've tried on your armor. I wonder if they even make armor in your short size...ugh, this stuff makes me feel so bulky!" With Zanari kneeling by his armored belly, Ulrich watches as she summons a bright, small being. He tilts his head to the side fondly as the faerie takes the patch and an offered spool of thread, along with a needle, from his Rider. The faerie is about the size of a dove, wearing a long dress of pale green, it's body of course is female. With a smile, the miniscule being attaches the patch to his saddle, humming to herself. Zanari has already begun to undress and try on her armor, putting on the under layer first. She has no modesty, which strikes Ulrich as odd for such a solemn person.

As Drake recieved his orders, he gave a slight bow. Afterwards, he hauled himself onto Shade's back, and they flew into the air.
<"You know, Shade, your gonna have to lighten up. Quit being a slave driver.">
Shade nodded his head in approval as he landed at Drake's room. Drake hopped off and headed through. Once he made it out the front door, he stood in awe at the pile of armor. Drake decided he might as well get it all inside before he gawked at it, so he started carrying. A few minutes later, Drake stood in front of Shade wearing a brand new suit of armor. Fitting Shade with armor, Drake slowly realized the effect of the armor.
<"Geez, this stuff would make me hurl if a saw a big enough pile of it.">
Shade let out a loud bellow, causing some of the armor to shift. Another couple of minutes passed, and Drake stood in front of a fiersome looking creature. Part Dragon and part metal, it roared "Now take it off, I can barely breath!"
"Im not taking it off, it's good for you. Your going to get used to it one way or another, and I think wearing it from now on would be one of the better ones."
Drake made his way back into the room and beyond before a reply could be uttered. He opened his new mailbox, and two letters sat squarely inside. He skimmed through the first, detailling his orders, and opened the second. A smug grin made it's way onto Drake's face as he realized what was contained within the small note.
<"What is it already?" Shade asked.>
<"It's a letter written by Kyala. It says we have been reassigned to fight the Krag. That explains all of the winter cloths" Drake said as he glanced at a pile of warm cloths.>
Drake made his way back out to Shade, and after further discussion Drake piled his weapons onto the dragon's harness.

[ No problem, Mido-perso. ^^ And actually, a long post displays just how much dedication and effort a person is willing to put into a game. So I enjoy reading them. biggrin And wooo! *Did a good one* xD ]
After Tyrkennen had left, Curizon looked to his focused Rider with an afterthought.
"Perhaps you shouldn't have presented our case in such a way, Fie."
Watching as Tyrkennen flew off into the distance, she then sharply turned her head.
"Well, of course our skill will be put to good use. I won't think that a wise BattleLance would let her team members' strengths go unused if they are crucial to victory."
Considering his words, Fieryn averted her eyes in shame. He...was right. But not wishing to leave her on that, he continued.
"All I say is that there is no need to worry, my dear. I know your knowledge will provide ample advantage in this fight, and you know I have promised my teeth and wings for you and your crusade. I will not waver until he is slain, by your hand."
A face flashed across her mind at his last words, a maleficent grinner from her worst memories. The wildest eyes she had ever seen. Slightly easing from her grim expression, she nodded.
Lulling into a smile to soothe her thoughts, Curizon lowered his head to nuzzle warmly against Fieryn's cheek.
"From now on, I insist you show more people the faith you instill in me. It will do you a world of good."
Reaching for his cool graze, she lovingly cradled his chin. And upon leaning in, she whispered a vow for only him to hear.
"But only you shall know where I'm coming from. I'll never to another reveal my secrets."
Nudging her over a bit with his head, his brilliant eye glistened to hers.
"Just give me your love, and that's all I need."
...A pause. Then, playfully.
"And, perhaps- why not- Tanneth's."
With a sarcastic giggle, she pushed his snout away and he laughed as well. After their merriment subsided, Fieryn turned as a loud banging was sounded at her door. Giving Curizon one last scratch, she walked over to answer it. A panting young boy awaited her with a beautiful and slim pink dragon at his side. After catching his breath, the blonde youth saluted his superior and his mate stood with posture and wings at attention.
"BlackSilver-Wing Rider Ma'am! We have for you new orders and equipment, to be taken post-haste."
Giving the lad a salute in return, she took his note and quickly scanned it over. Tyrkennen's message, with just a bit more information...only requiring a slight change in pack but Curizon would need proper insulated gear. Though he had trained with Fieryn for northern-combatant situations, he was not an ice dragon or any more suited to the cold than the others were. His skills were developed with her more out of necessity than birthright. Fieryn on the otherhand was a Mountain girl; though a slim little runt she was naturally accustomed to harsh winters and rather loved the snow. But where she lived, she was also blessed to have such beautiful summers...
Remembering the duo's mention of equipment, she snapped her glance back to them and slightly smiled as they were still at attention.
"At ease, fellows."
Relaxing, the boy turned behind him to drag in the new requirements. His dragon wobbled over to collect a few other things by jaw.
"Where would you like them, Ma'am?"
"Just take them inside right here. And please, call me Fieryn. We'll be in the same wing someday and I would hate if you addressed me with such formality even there."
Confused, the boy raised his brow to her. Smirking, she put forth her arm to display her armband which she had noticed was similar to his. He scratched the back of his head with a blush after placing her supplies.
"Ah...all right then. My name is Fieryn, Setten. I mean Setten, Fieryn!!"
Terribly nervous, he saluted again in a fervor and his dragon airheadedly followed in suit not having had paid much attention to anything besides placing objects down. Fieryn squinted at the pair.
"Stop reminding me of me, right this instant."
Curizon chortled, turning his head inside from behind the curtain deciding to put in his two cents.
"Tell me fellows, are you longing for any female counterparts whom you sporadically leave gifts to at their doorsteps at this present time? THEN you would BE Fieryn."
Scrunching her nose, she swat her Dragon blindly at the snout.
"Gyah!"
With a confused look to her boy's furrowed brow, the pink Dragon spoke up.
"Why do you long for other ladies, Fieryn? If I were to leave gifts, I would do so only only for a male..."
The experienced Dragon and Rider looked blankly to the young Dragon, rather surprised at her feminine voice. They'd just been used to seeing a male pink dragon for so long it...kinda didn't click...
Rather flustered, Setten looked between his Dragon and the others before walking to the door.
"Come, Yvosha. We've...bothered our seniors long enough..." He gave Fieryn one last weird look before the pair turned to leave, to which the black-haired girl stopped them.
"Wait! Please take something as a token of my appreciation for your work." Looking for something, she delightedly picked up a small windchime and extended it forward. A copper and glass marvel, Setten took it his hands eagerly.
"Thank you, very much! We look forward to fighting alongside you one day!" Waving, the young pair left and Curizon snickered underneath his breath. He knew why she had been so kind.
"Got...something to prove? Or are my misunderstood words going to prove true and have you give up on Ca-"
She thwacked him with his new leather breastplate before he could finish, shaking her fist a bit.
"Come on. We have to prepare you for the right mission now..."

(( thanks ^___^ I really, really, really enjoy this rpg... I've never played one with dragons before... neither have I had a love interest type thing either, so it's really cool to be able to do something new... you all are really fun to role play with too, so it just makes it better whee
I have homework now, but by tomorrow evening I should have something posted... I need to work on posting more often, and with less length, no matter how much dedication it shows >__<... I shall bore people to death))

Satisfied that her armor fit as well as Ulrich's fit himself, Zanari excuses herself into her bathroom. With the door shut, she pulls a nearby lever which spills some of the mountain's river water into it. Removing the armor and setting it in a corner, she covers it with a towel lest any water should fall upon it when she gets out. The water will be cold and possibly make her feel like her body is blue, but the half faerie needs something to wake herself up more. No doubt that there will be some sort of action today. Even if they all were just given occupations, there might already be plans.
As his Rider goes to bathe herself, the plated dragon hears a timid knock on the door. He perks his finned ears and turns his long neck to look at the wooden rectangle. "Come in!", as he chimes this, a young girl with a bronze dragon hatchling enters. This makes Ulrich smile, "Well hello, there. My Rider’s taking a bath right now, what is it you two need?"
The young pair give soft salutes, as though afraid that any sudden movement would cause for alarm in the older dragon. "We have more equipment and a message f-for you both." Reaching into a small satchel, she pulls out a bit of parchment and with a slightly trembling arm, it is given to the colored dragon. Ulrich holds out a claw and tenderly opens it, eyes scanning over the words. The dragon was able to get a few reading lessons from Zanari, but mainly only recognized the word Krag. He gives a slight sigh and nods to the young pair, who work on bringing in the new equipment. "Just leave it in the middle of the room please, we’ll sort it out later.", he turns his head to the bathroom door, "You’re in luck, we’ll be freezing our butts off pretty soon and fighting!"
Zanari washes quickly, also getting her hair clean and climbs out, drying off thoroughly and getting all of her armor back on. Rubbing a towel on her wet green hair, she walks out of the bathroom and looks down to the growing pile of new items. Taking the message from Ulrich, her golden eyes read over the note carefully and she sighs softly. Once the two young ones have finished bringing in their things, Zanari looks to them as they salute, she gives them a prompt dismissal salute. Turning to the new pile, she sets the note on a small wooden table by her bed. "No time for a nap, I'd assume..."

Toreth thought over Calidar's question for a moment. "I don't think it will happen for at least a couple days, but I could be wrong. Sorry I can't give you a better answer." Toreth looked at Chandra and Tanneth for a second.
"Dear, what are you thinking?"
"You can always tell can't you love? Well, this is what I'm thinking. Calidar, Tanneth, would you mind if we came with you to hunt as well with you. Calidar didn't eat yesterday or the day before and she has yet to today. It would be the perfect oppertunity to let the dragons get to know each other and the same goes for us. What do you think?" Toreth ask with a gentle voice and a sweet smile. He did not want to scare the girl or give the wrong impression. He did however look her in the eyes for that was something he always did when he talked to someone.

((I'm guessing that was supposed to be Chandra who hadn't eaten in a while ^^))
Calidar looked at Toreth, quickly masking her surprise. She smiled kindly, inwardly delighted that he and Chandra would be coming with them. She looked up at Tanneth.
"That is a wonderful idea," Tanneth said. "I would be delighted if you came with us. Cali, what do you think?"
Calidar smiled. "I think it's a wonderful idea, as well, love," she said. "Toreth, Chandra, would you mind waiting a minute or two for me to figure out this blasted dragon armor and put it on Tanneth? The straps look sort of confusing, and she's never worn armor before."
Helplessly, she gestured to the armor, and indeed, the thing had an immense amount of straps, all jumbled up. For one who had never dealt with dragon armor before, it would be quite a challenge.

((Sorry, I did mean Chandra, I didn't notice. sweatdrop ))
"I don't mind waiting at all and if you want I can help you with the armor." Toreth offered with a smile.
"Careful though, he might crack it when he puts it on being as how nervous he gets around females."
Chandra dodged the first stone to her head but got hit right between the eyes by the second one. It was a good thing the dragon armor came with a type of helmet or that would have really hurt.
"Hey, no using your power that's cheating."
All the while, Chandra had started up a mini storm over Toreth's head causing it to lightly rain on his head. "No cheating she says, what a friend." Still in the next moment they were both laughing and the storm had disappeared.

Calidar leaughed. Chandra and Toreth were really funny.
"Well," she said, "I'm more of a Tom-boy, but I guess I'm still female."
"Well, I hope you are female. You were when I first met you"
Calidar sighed at her dragon's odd humor and lightly punched her strong shoulder. The beast would still be making jokes while they were were fighting. No matter. The two were bound, and they would never desert one another. Calidar looked back at Toreth.
"I appreciate the offer, but I'll figure it out," she said. "I've always had a knack for figuring things out."
She walked over to the armor and lifted it. It was really light. Tanneth moved closer to her, and Calidar threw the armor over her back. She went over it, smoothing out any wrinkles and untwisting straps. Then she buckled it together, and threw the saddle on top, strapping it in place. She climbed up into the saddle, tying the straps to her legs, body and arms as she had designed it.
"Are you all ready? I want to fly now."
"I'm ready," she said. "Are you sure you want to fly with all that water on you?" she asked Toreth.
She smiled slyly at him.
((I only had her refuse because it would have been difficult for us both to put the armor on. And now they can hunt. ^^))

((That works fine for me and it does make things faster.))
"I think I will be fine, it should dry quickly once we're in the air. If not I can always even the odds and have Chandra get you wet." He added with his own sly smile as he climbed into Chandra's saddle. "I'd let you go first, but.... seeing as you are not sure if you are a female, I'd better go first." Toreth quickly gave Chandra the signal to go forward and once out side took off, he wasn't going to give Calidar a chance with this one.
"Your going to get it now dear."
"Not if you follow my signals like your told love." He replied with a laugh.
"Then I suppose I'll have to decide quickly which side I want," she laughed.
"Hey" was all he said with a look of retort.

Cain grumbled, lying on the floor on his stomach, scribbling nonsense on a slip of paper. In the past five minutes, Cain had resolved himself to begin writing letters to all of his loved ones, should he not come back. He had no doubt that the Riders could beat the Krag, however, Cain wasn't positive he could live down Veraldimir's snickering for a month. The dragon was still on the balcony trying to surpress giggles, every once in awhile calling Cain by some degrading reference to his background to get the Rider's attention.
Cain for one, was still completely baffled why the whole "farm" business amused Veraldimir so much. Most of the time Veraldimir wouldn't even bring the subject to the foreground, as the pair was usually engaged in training of some sort. But once in a blue moon, the dragon decided to keep Cain's humiliation alive for weeks at a time. Sure, the sting of the original comment did fade after a few minutes, but the giggling was more than annoying.
Giving up on his 6th letter, Cain crumpled the sheet of paper and threw it at the dragon, who was hunched over on the balcony, his back to Cain. His stoic position didn't fool the Rider, however, as Veraldimir's shoulder's would shake from time to time in silent laughter. 'Maybe because he's such a hardarse, the few times he thinks something comical, its really comical. Sorta like that whole 'absense makes the heart grow fonder' thing... except for emotions and not people.' Cain hoped with a vengence that there really was a reason behind the laughter.
A knock on the door interrupted Cain's sulking, and he wasted no time in leaving the dragon alone to find who was calling. Opening the door, he looked out and saw a very nervous girl, and a very large dragon. Relieved that it wasn't Fieryn, Cain opened the door wider, thankful for company. Smiling at the tiny girl, who couldn't have been taller than his chest, he asked pleasantly, "Is there anything I can do for you, ma'am?"
The girl raised her gaze from the floor to look at him contemptously. "You can take this crap off my hands," she snapped, only to add in a honey-toned, "if you'd be so kind." Cain gaped stupidly. still staring at the smiling girl in front of him. She was a twig-person like himself, although evenly small, unlike his akward proportions. Cain was positive that a small gust of wind could carry the girl away, and intended to tell her so, but held his tongue and turned his attention to the dragon.
She was big. Or at least, Cain assumed it was a she. It was still.... plump. The dragon only came to Cain's waist, and was short and squat. She was purple, and obviously wasn't built for doing anything but smashing people to small, small bits. One quick look towards the female's spiked club of a tail confirmed this. Shivering and reminding himself to not pick on the girl ever, Cain attempted to try the conversation again, now hesitantly kind. "Ah... I hadn't known of the orders until just the other minute... I would've come down and helped, but they had said it was already being done and-"
"Oh, save it." The girl interjected, stomping past him, a box in her hand. "I know who you are," she called accusingly over her shoulder. Cain kept on gaping. "You're that slacker beanpole of a Rider, with that skinnyarse, discolored dragon. You couldn't carry a box if your life depended on it."
At this, the short girl dropped the box uncerimoniously in the middle of Cain's room with a loud clatter. Veraldimir now stood in front of her sternly, so unpleased by her comment that he immediately had come to see what the commotion was about. Cain still kept his position by the door, unnerved, while the girl's dragon ambled roughly past him into the room, squashing the poor boy against the door frame.
While his rider nursed his wounds from the dragon, Veraldimir sized up the human girl. "Skinnyarse dragon? I KNOW you weren't talking about me, shorty."
"You heard what I said." The girl retorted shortly, casting him an irritated glare. "You're Veraldimir. The girly dragon. From the stories I've heard, I'm still suprised you hatched, much less became a Rider. You must've landed on your head wrong."
'THAT'S IT KID!' The dragon roared, and Cain rushed between his friend and the sour female. The girl's dragon had since taked up a defensive position by her partner, tail ready to fly should the older dragon think of attacking. "Veraldimir, please-" Cain pleaded uselessly.
The girl didn't waver. "KID? I'M OLDER THAN YOU!" she shouted in the dragon's face, ignoring the Cain-barrier. The purple dragon nudged her side.
"Lillian, that's enough..."
Lillian looked down at her partner. "Don't do that! If these slacker clowns made it into the Riders, I should be an Elder by the time I'm 16! Unbelievable!" She shot an angry look to Cain, now ignoring the fuming dragon behind him. "You're a complete loser, you have a pink dragon, and you made me haul all of this useless junk up from storage when I want to be napping. If I ever see you again, provided your lame arse doesn't get killed in the next month, I will kill you. Painfully."
With that the tiny girl stormed off, kicking the box of stuff she had brought with her, knocking it over before stomping out the door. Cain followed her out with his eyes, horrified and confused.
'You'll have to excuse her.' The purple dragon said apologetically, lowering her tail. 'I'm afraid Lillian is a bit testy when woken prematurely from her naps.' Cain just nodded dumbly, trying his best to look convinced. Inside, he was wondering which cook had managed to spit in her porridge that morning...
Veraldimir, noticing the absense of threat, brightened greatfully. "It's no problem at all, I understand completely" He reassured the dragon sweetly. "Humans can be so testy sometimes.... I can hardly keep my Cain from lunging at the other Riders in anger...."
The dragon looked at the pair thoughtfully before shaking her head and lumbering towards the door. "Don't be a kissarse." She told Veraldimir levelly, as if dealing with a child. Then she was gone.
Cain tip-toed to the door carefully, peeking out to see that the pair was gone before returning inside, shutting the door, and sliding down against the wood, to sit on the stone floor. Thumping his head on the door behind him, Cain closed his eyes tiredly as Veraldimir waltzed over to the box of stuff that had been brought up.
"What just happened?"

With a sigh, Fieryn began her work of properly arming Curizon. Some objects were tossed back into her quarters as others were brought out to fill their place. The pair was quiet at this duty, resigning to thoughtful introspection. It did not take long to reload the bags, but with the constant flux of hair strands falling into her face the Rider was reminded to tie her braids. She decided to do this before adjusing Curizon's insulation, using the shell comb from her washroom to even the locks and then fastened the ends with the twine around her wrists. Flicking the pigtails behind her shoulder, she rejoined her Dragon as he look distracted by noises from a yonder balcony.
"...It seems like Veraldimir finds something to be hilarious over there. You probably shouldn't have invited them over here, as they might be awhile. The hour closes for our return to the meeting halls."
Fieryn gave no reply as she secured his breast with covering, fixing it snugly to his saddle in a way so that he could still be comfortable. It was interesting that though this was but storage equipment, it well complimented the natural brown of his spikes and horns. She seemed to be distant, and in fact was now lowly humming a song traditional to the lands. A fabled one of the struggles against the people's greatest foes, and the pain of living amongst them. Giving a look to her direction, Curizon curiously tilted his head as the girl then snapped securities to his forearms and backlegs.
"Fie? If you are so sentimental...why not sing the song? You do not have a shy voice when it comes to lyrics."
Looking up to him briefly, a light reflected in her eyes that showed great depth beneath them. Something had definately come across her mind. But glancing back down, Fieryn finished the preparations and complied to his wish for a nightingale.
What life is this We surely meet To dread the sight Of the grey and brown? What hearts so grieve Of our wordly woes That cannot love The light of hope? A day will come It must be done The strength to fight Will rise in souls. But until that day We'll only pray To what we cherish Meets righteous protection...
Trailing off as she turned to completely face him, her eyes drank in his majesty before his feet and she stood as still as wonder expects. It was like she was seeing him for the first time, in a complete way, that had not been present ten minutes ago. Sudden epiphanies will do that.
Flexing his wings, Curizon's eyes looked peeringly and worriedly down to his Rider. Why such the sad admiration?
"Fieryn. Tell me of your change of heart. It is loving, but I never like this look in you. Because it means that you are melancholy..."
Biting her lip, Fieryn presented a slight smile.
"...I never tell you how beautiful you are, do I? I mean really, in the most serious of ways. And I don't mean because of your appearance, not even about the color of your eyes. It's what in them, beneath the surface what makes you a real marvel. So many times I wonder what I did to earn you, or even if I deserve you, as I don't think I've proven to myself I should really be your partner. I was like a coward that day-"
"Stop it. I won't hear anymore of your doubts...you were very confident so far today, why should you want to break down now? Fortresses can be built upon the ruins of any past, and you are no different. You were only twelve and your beloved family was stripped from you, your reaction was as any young girl's would be. But you were determined to rise again, to speak again weren't you? And then we discovered each other. I know you were scared, but I was too...and just too eager to break from my shell to discover the one who's heart could possibly beat with mine. Only yours, Fieryn. We are as one, no matter what your or my problems can be. We will stick by each other through anything thrown at us, and do it gladly this I know. And if you call me beautiful, of course you must know that you are too."
Nodding his wise eyes, Fieryn became teary at his proclamation. He was always right, so he would always want her. She needed him more than anything, and his assurance confirmed that he would remain loyal to the claw. No more time for doubts. Looking back one last time to her rooms, she warmly mounted his back and stroked his sides.
"Curizon...? The day awaits. The first day of the rest of our lives, which shall hail our constant companionship. Let us go to Cain and Veraldimir's balcony, to see if they have left for the halls yet? If they have...then we meet them there."
With a lightened face, Curizon ascended from their veranda towards the one of their fellow Scouts.

Calidar's mouth hung open in surpise. She gave a little disbelieving laugh. Then Tanneth crawled outside of the cave and launched herself into the air. One, two, three strokes of her wings and they were level with Toreth and Chandra.
"I believe you and Chandra are out-matched, young Toreth," Claidar called. "There is nothing on this earth that can best Tanneth and me in the sky."
To prove their point, Tanneth folded her wings and dropped beneath Chandra, flipping onto her back to brush one of her forelegs against Chandra's. In another moment, she had righted herself and come up on Chandra's other side.
"Try to catch us. I dare you. You will not be able to."
Tanneth's smug words added to Calidar's sense of pride and total confidence in her dragon's flying ability. Silently, she asked Tanneth to stay ahead. The dragon obliged, and the next moment she was beating her wings just a little faster and just a little more powerfully. The green dragon come up neatly in front of Chandra. Calidar looked back smugly. No one could beat them in the sky. It was their element, and the reason they were in the Dive Corps.

"Get on." Torokal shrugged his face into the helm, and pecked a claw on the cobblestones while Ryan hurriedly drew in the last strap.
"Why? Where are we go-ING!" The words were ripped out of his mouth as the dragon took off with more power than ever before, his wings surging them rapidly higher.
"Tanneth/Calidar has just dared Chandra/Toreth to a sprint. Humph. If Veraldimir was up here, they'd both be left behind." Despite a slight contempt for the color of Veraldimir, Torokal had to admire the sheer speed of the pink dragon.
Ryan leaned forward in the saddle, minimizing his profile. Torokal's wings surged, brining him even with Chandra/Toreth. A slight adjustment began a slow climb on Torokal's part, taking the ice dragon above the race.
