I live in sudbury, ontario and the general public doesn't seem to care that much...but my school is horrible. They don't seem to care if there are bi or lez girls...even though I don't think there are many seeing as how im only in gr.8, but if there was a gay guy he would be harrased soo much. I can just see it now. Thats the insult of the century at my school. If you do something wrong your gay or queer, or a f**/got. It's complete idiocy. IDIOCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh..by the way Im...somewhere between bi and lesbian.

As I read this thread, I begin to feel privilaged to live here. Why?
I do believe that my city in Ohio is the most open-minded place ever.
A gay guy (Josh, I think) ran, and almost won Homecoming King.
None of the gay guys at school are shunned by the straight guys, though they do poke fun in gym (Ooooh, girly legs! Did you just shave?)
Pssh, none of the femmes around here give a s**t if someone's gay, bi, or whatever. I just came out with a few of my friends about being bi, and they just said they thought I was and dropped the subject without overreacting or anything of that sort.
I am NEVER leaving this city. ^_^

Wh00t! I love MY school! I live in Toronto, in Canada, you know? Aaand... I go to the epitome of acceptance school, Rosedale! ^__^ My school is like the druggie school, but that's off topic. Since it's an art school, it's WAY different than other schools. Lots of gay guys and lesbian girls, and loads of kids who are bi, like me.
Of course, there are the odd homophobes, but they can't do anything, can they? blaugh

Chibeh Chibeh: Alot of people on here go to art schools... it makes me feel stupid when there isn't one around here... sad Geniusdude: More people in canada! I don't understand why girls are find but boys are dead? Do people just accept us more?

I live in Ohio in one of the most consevative cities there is- Cincinatti. They are even have a law that prevents you from filing charges against someone if they bash you because you are gay. The funny thing is, my generation has a lot of bisexual and a bit of gay teenagers. Most teens in my school actually SUPPORT gay marriage, though there are still those who are repulsed by it.
One day durring Photography we were debating about the gay marriage laws and some guy said it was wrong. The rest of the class debated him until he finally relented and said he would tolerate it as long as they didn't mess w/ him. I was like- things are going to change here.
Off course, i feel like a hypocrit because I am bi and kinda "in the closet" about it... no one has asked so I haven't answered!

I'm...okay with my city. I live in Baltimore, MD. It's not in the extremes on either end, which is alright. My school's not the most supportive, but people don't get death threats or anything. I go to an all-girls school, which, I think, is scarier for people who want to come out. I'm a freshman, so this was the first year I could join GSA. According to the president, they've been getting the high school more and more involved, and there don't seem to be many homophobic *students*. The teachers, scarily enough, are a whole different story. Some protest every year against the fact that we have a GSA club and that GLSEN meets in our Multi-Purpose Room once a month. It's kind of sad.
Although, there's always a good side to my city. I live in a part of the city that's known throughout the state (and in some other places in the USA, too) for its eccentricity. We've got this festival every year where groups of men walk around dressed as women in rollers, bathrobes and more, people bowl for spam and everyone from 8 to 80 can get a beehive. It's great, and most people there accept/are gay. I love it - the atmosphere, the people, everything.

Hey. I live in Cambridge, Ontario. I'm somewhere between straight and Bi.....so..um..semi-bi? sweatdrop I haven't told anyone because I'm still not sure myself, but I've heard of a few les/bi girls in my school and no one seems to have a problem with them. I know I don't, obviously. After reading some of the posts I'm quite shocked. I cannot believe that some people show such hatred towards people just because of their sexuality! It's unbelievable! But anyways, I'm really glad I'm studying art because it sounds as though us artists are most accepting. I like the sound of the art schools 3nodding (sorry for the little ramble at the end sweatdrop )

I live in Sydney, Australia. It isn't so bad here, I guess (especially at my friends birthday party, where we ended up playing Truth or Dare and it turns out most of my friends are bi). Except there are sooooo many homphobes. I'm really scared of telling my own family that I'm bi,. although my mum and dad would probably be okay with it... I think... except my sister is beyond homophobic and it hurts coz I confide in her and it's so hard to keep it from her. I know she'd hate me if she found out.

I live in Sydney, and most of the people at school treated me as the 'Popular' ones, and they all knew. Most of my friends were gay/les/bi, but i think whether or not it is just some act. To fit in.
The community in other hands, is rather harsh in this area. If u are an 'outsider' for any reason, you will be treatened to be beaten up, abused, and no one is really there to listen to you.

Cool. But a good way to tell if your parents are the same as your sister is to bring up gay marrage at the dinner table or some other famaly place. See how they react. If it's good, great. If it's bad, you can go live with Yoshi_maniak 'cause he lives in Sydney too... sweatdrop Yoshi_maniak: Well... um... I can't think of anything to respond too... sweatdrop this is a first...

I live in NY, near Manhattan (out on long siland) on the island people are homophobes -.- heck anyplace BUT the village (in nyc) seems to be homophobic. its kinda sad, because well, for some one who has an intrest in girls, their very hard to come by, even in thecity, most manhattan folks tend to be.. well "shallow" to an extent (no offence if anyone happens to live there) i guess really it all depends on where you go. I'm pretty open about myself, in both my faith (pagan) and in my sexual/love prefrences. sadly alot of people dont share that outlook. =/ Whne you look like i do, overweight and such people tend to aovid you,so it hard to tell stare =/
