~~2005/11/29~~ (Backdated...) Another day, another trip for the post. The post, it seemed, hadn't been in quite some time, but Kiro was still a little surprised to find two letters addressed to himself. And thankfully nothing that looked like it was from Kai. In fact, Kiro had a sneaking suspicion he knew who the letters were from. "Tsu? Wanna come through and help me read something?" Chao's Letter Kiro and Tsu, Hello again! I'm sorry I haven't written in so long. Thank you so much for the explanation, it sounds like an interesting stage, this wispness. Speaking of which has Tsu become a child yet? I imagine he has, considering how long it's been, but well, you didn't mention how long the wisp stage lasts so.... I have found out Sanar's job, she's going to be a weaver. It is interesting, as very recently after finding out she had a high degree of talent in that area I caught her pawing [hooving?] one of my shirts apart. It is a good fit, as more than one of my shirts/pants/jackets ect. have been pecked and hooved apart. Or stolen. She seems to like to hoard things though recently she's been doing a sort of asking for permission thing by showing me the stuff she wants to kidnap so I can say yes or no. Sanar says 'hello', as you can see from the ripped corner. I hope you come and visit Ar'Idil soon and I'll be sure to pass on the message to Sin. ~Chao&Sanar Kiro smiled as Tsu read the first letter aloud to him. There was a lot of halting, and uncertainty, but the young Aerandir seemed desperate to learn. And that desperation was making him persistant. When he's finished, Tsu glanced up to Kiro hopefully. "How wassat?" "That was really great Tsu. Want to make a go of this second one?" As he spoke, Kiro reached across and opened it, pulling the paper out and scanning its contents quickly before handing it to the Aerandir. Chao's Second Letter Hello Kiro! I hope you and Tsu are doing well, I must say another very grateful thank you for your explanation of wisps. It's been very useful especially because Sanar has just entered that stage wit the use of a woven bag Anthony, our resident admin, gave us. Gael, Sin's Aerandir, recently underwent this change as well, which brings me to part of the reason I'm writing, would you mind possibly posting our lists up at the Celatu Center for us? It'd be a big help and greatly appreciated by all of us. Sanar's list: 1 piece of woven material Some small gems / beads Some straw Some wool 2 ribbons 1 leaf Gael's list: 2 Ribbons 1 large pile of beads 1 small piece of metal or rock-ore 2 small pieces of wood A piece of string Thank you in advance! Say hello to Tsu for me and... Sanar just dove through the letter which I think means say hello for her as well, Hope to hear from you two soon! ~Chao&Sanar "Wow! Sanar's growed up! And..." Tsu glanced at the paper again. He knew all about who Sanar was, but he'd not really heard much about 'Gael'. Hmm... "And Gael! Could we mebbe meet them somewhen?" Kiro nodded. "We probably will Tsu. I'm going to have to take a trip to where they live sometime, I'd guess. We could maybe see them then." "Yay!" Tsu wriggled excitedly for a little while, before pausing. "Keeo... who's 'A'tony'?" Kiro couldn't help but give a small cringe. Someone I was supposed to have done something for a loooooooong time ago... "He's in charge of the other island, kiddo. He does like what Alyosha does here, remember?" "Yeah!" Kiro nodded, before grabbing Tsu some paper. The boy already had his quill pen to write with. "Now, I want you to do a really important job for me, okay? I need you to write a letter for Chao. She'd love to get a letter from you as well as me." He absently tore the top and bottom from the 'list-letters' and stood. "I need to go put this on the notice board, okay?" Tsu paused for a moment, looking stunned. He was going to write a letter?! "Cool!" he squeaked emphatically. Eagerly he made a grab for his quill and dragged the paper towards him. It was a step, Kiro reasoned, in giving Tsu a reason to keep up with the reading and writing. Maybe he should let the little guy start writing in his own journal sometime soon... Tsu Deer Kao and Sanar, Is grate that Sanar is a wisp now! I am realy happi for her! Tell her I sed Hi! ~ Tsukai! Well, what else was he supposed to write? He waved the quill under his nose a few times as he considered this. He didn't really know either of them, and Chao was an adult like Keeo was. Hmm... At that point, Kiro reappeared, pleased to see Tsu had something written down. He had been worried the Aerandir would get writer's block, although it had never happened yet. The boy always seemed to have something to say. "That you finished?" Tsu nodded, holding the paper up and seeking the blonde's approval, which he readily recieved. Kiro laid it down on the desk before getting a pen of his own and writing the letter to accompany Tsu's. Kiro Hey Chao! We're both really glad to hear of Sanar becoming a wisp! If I can find anything on your list or Sin's I'll make sure to send it across for you. And, yes, as you can probably tell by the accompanying letter, Tsu's gotten past the wisp stage and is now a child. He's writing on anything he can get his hands on now, which I take to be a good sign. He also had a chance in the spotlight at Halloween, telling his first story to an audience. I'm pretty sure he enjoyed himself, though he fell fast asleep soon afterwards. It's also good to hear that Sanar knows what her job is now. If she's running off with random articles of clothing, I'd say that weaver sounds like a good fit! We still need to get them together at some point - it sounds like they'd get on quite well. I am still planning to get to Ar'Idil sometime, just not entirely sure when. I'll try and let you know though - either that or I imagine we'll bump into each other anyway. It's been great hearing from you! Write soon! ~Kiro & Tsu Then, satisfied, Kiro slipped the two letters into the envelope, addressed it, and put it to one side to be sent at some point in the near future.

~~2006/01/10~~ Absently, Kiro chewed a lip. Lots of things had happened since he'd last written in Tsu's journal. To be honest he'd forgotten for a short while that there was supposed to be documenting going on. Which was a little negligant. So, for the last hour, the neko-jin had been covering the recent events that involved an earthquake on the islands. Confident that it was well documented elsewhere (definately by the other guardians, and most likely in an official capacity as well) he didn't feel the need to cover it in great depth. To mention it had happened and its impact on Tsu was most likely enough. It had, unfortunately meant that a lot of the guardians had spent their Christmas and New Year in something akin to turmoil. While it didn't seem that any of the houses had actually been felled by the events, one or two of them appeared to be in no fit state for living in. Journal ... so I think it's safe to say we've had some excitement in the past month. Tsu seems to be holding up okay though, which I'm glad of. As selfish as it sounds, I'm glad we're both living in the Centre. It was one of the safest places to be. Absently, Kiro glanced up as he finished writing. There. Updated. It had been nagging at his mind for a few days, but he hadn't been quite sure what to say or how to word it. No sign of the terrible twosome, however. Kiro assumed they were through in the other room, Tsu most likely annoying the kitten to death. He stood quietly and moved through, leaning in at the door between the two rooms, before pausing with a smile. The two of them were curled up on the floor, Tsu's little hand lying on Hope's back as the kitten was heard to purr quietly. Kiro couldn't help but grin slightly. They pretended to hate each other. It was, however, far from the truth. It was then that the kitten opened an eye, looking over at Kiro in a sort of 'don't you DARE wake him up and make him move me' expression. Kiro just shook his head and spoke quietly. "Don't worry. If you promise to keep an eye on him, then you can keep him as a cushion for now." An amused pause. "Deal?" The way she closed her eyes and returned to her 'I'm comfy damnnit' posture clearly indicated that that arrangement was fine for the moment. Kiro, at any rate, clearly didn't have any choice in the matter. Kiro remembered, when he'd first taken Hope in, that he'd been worried that the two wouldn't get along. And, up until very recently he'd still been worried that the situation wouldn't improve. Maybe one of them had matured...? Who knew, he supposed...

~~2006/01/21~~ Post had been relatively scarce recently. Which was a shame, Kiro realised, as he found something calming in reading and replying to post. It was completely methodic, and it had to contain a certain degree of thought. So, when he recieved the letter from Keilin he was understandably pleased. Tsu was also excited about the fact they'd gotten a letter, looking up from his book excitedly as Kiro came in with it. "Is i' a letter?!" Kiro nodded, putting the grey object on the desk with a smile. "Yeah. It's from Keilin, you remember her and..." Ah. A quick glance at the letter reminded Kiro of the gryphon's name. It had been a long time since he had spoken to Keilin. "And Chata?" Tsu frowned a little, obviously trying to remember Chata. Hmm... He 'membered... water? For some reason? Hmm... He always did find it hard to remember events from when he was a gryphon. "Well, you remember during the Summer Festival, right? When we went to Ar'Idil and saw everyone from there?" Ah!! He remembered Ar'Idil!! Sort of... maybe... well, not really, no... The blank look he gave Kiro seemed to convey that. Kiro shook his head in mock exasperation as he sat down on the floor beside Tsu. Letter-reading was somewhat of a 'family' event anyway. "Well, there was a raffle when we were there - and Keilin's sent us a letter with the prize we won." "We won sumfing?!" "Uh-huh!" "What did we win!?" For a second, Kiro seemed to wonder where he'd put it, then reaching over his head to the desk and taking the plushie down from it before offering it for Tsu's inspection. Keilin Letter from Keilin Dear Anakiro, It's been a long time since I last saw you and your Aerandir, Tsukai..? Oh dear, I hope I've gotten his name right. Anyways, remember the summer festival? You won one of the prizes I offered for the raffle, and I suppose it's delivery time now!.. Yeah, but really, I truly am sorry for awfully long wait. I hope you enjoy the plush~ I had fun trying to find a suitable one for you and Tsukai. I thought it would be interesting to give him an elephant plush, I really do hope he doesn't mind it. Don't have much time to write more now - I hope Chata and I meet you again on our travels! Sincerely, Keilin On top of the envelope containing the letter is a soft plush, its beady eyes staring discontentedly onwards as if defying the green girly ribbon that had been forced on top of its head. Attached to the ribbon is a tag that reads "For Anakiro, From Keilin ♥". Behind the plush's right leg, a small tag juts out from within the plush itself and reads "made in India".
"Wow!" squeaked Tsu. "It's SO CUTE!!" Kiro couldn't help but grin at the little guy. He was a handful at times, but watching his face light up like that made it all worthwhile. "You gonna have it then?" "Can I?!" "Sure. I think it likes you. But you have to give it a name too." Tsu opened his mouth, before Kiro quickly added, "and it's not Bob." "Awww....!!" "I know, I know. But you have to be original, right?" "Uhh... can I have a fink?" Kiro nodded. "Of course you can. Let me know when you decide though, okay?" "Yeah!"

I think hee's a hee. I need to find sum names for stuff. When I rite about peepol who need names, I dunno wat they shud be called. I hav a lot of Bobs in my storees... but! The gurls get called Bobeena, so theyre not all called Bob. Cos thatd bee stoopid. I havn't saw Hope for ages eether. Kiro says she is jus sploring. And sploring's fun, so thats gud. I kinda miss her tho. I dunno wat else to rite. Maybe I'll rite more in a few days. Bai. The handwriting wasn't perfect. And the spelling was far from it. But Kiro felt that entry was showing the order of things, a natural progression. Tsu was growing up, and making entries in his own journal was just a part of that. It just seemed right.

~~2006/02/02~~ "Keeo, wassat...?" Kiro leaned against the desk, watching Tsu in amusement. On the desk, pushed up against the wall, was a jar. Inside the jar was a bunch of fur and a feather. Tsu, of course, had been fascinated with this jar since Kiro had brought it through, barely able to resist reaching out and poking at it. Hope, also having been absent for several days, seemed to sense some change and had then returned to also investigate the new object. "Hopefully," Kiro said, "there'll be another Aerandir inside of it." "Like me?" "Uh-huh, you were in a jar like that one time y'know." Tsu turned his gaze away from the jar and looked up at Kiro. "I was?" "Yup." Kiro paused then, a thought having struck him. "It needs a name. And I think she's gonna be a girl..." "Bobeena!!!" "No," Kiro said, biting back a laugh and wondering how he hadn't seen it coming. "There's already too many things called Bobeena, right? We might get confused." "Oh yea... we mi'te..." Tsu then took a turn, pausing with a frown. He'd been trying to think of names for the made up people in his stories. He'd once seen one... what was it again...? "Wha' 'bout Rosette?" Kiro nodded with a smile. Tsu was getting the hang of the 'not calling everything Bob' thing. Perhaps. Jury was still on that one he supposed. "Then, Rosette it is. And try not to poke her too much, okay?"

~~2005/02/14~~ ((Backdated...)) She didn't say much. That was Tsukai's train of thought as he rested his chin on the edge of the desk peering at Rosette's jar with large eyes. He was curious about it. Was this were children came from? She should talk more... "Keeo! W'y doesn' Rosette talk?" Kiro glanced across from the book he was reading - for once of the fictional variety. "Because she's not been born yet kiddo. You didn't talk much before you were a gryphon either." "But she's igno~~~~rin' me!" Kiro sat up, closing his book with a good-tempered sigh. "She's not ignoring you at all, okay? She's just... not alive yet. Y'know?" He paused before continuing. "I used to talk to you when you were a jar y'know. Used to tell you stories and stuff." "Yeah?" "Mmhmm." Nodding, Kiro stood. "It's just a matter of time kiddo. You'll see." Absently, leaving the book on the bed where he'd been lying, Kiro went to check if there was any post. He hadn't heard anything from Kandera, or any of his other classmates in some time. And Heaven forbid Kai decided to try his luck again. To his surprise, however, he found opening the door was a challenge, as some mischievious somebody had wedged something under the door. Crouching down, Kiro gave a few hefty tugs before prising the envelope out from under the door. Pueblo The Aerandir girl scurried into the Centre, grasping a couple envelopes in her hands. Squinting around, her footpaws ran her towards one of the rooms where Anakiro and Tsu currently lived. Pueblo then got on her hands and knees until she could nearly see under the door. Without knocking, she slipped one of the stuffed envelopes under the door, then ran towards another room. It looked susiciously pretty... Absently, Kiro beckoned Tsu over. "Wanna open this Tsu? I think it's for both of us..." Pueblo Probably the fatest envelope you have ever seen! As it is opened, a sweet aroma wafts out and glitter instantly blinds your eyes. The first maroon painted heart sprout pink feathery wings! With as much glitter and shine as the next one, the pink heart is trimmed with magenta feathers. Oooh, looks like some Aerandir was busy! "Fluffy!!" exclaimed Tsu, grinning cheerfully. Glitter had, by now covered the small child to the point where every movement seemed to catch the light. Kiro absently rolled his eyes. He was about to close the door, and suggest that Tsu write Pueblo a thank you letter when something else caught his eye... Nehanda There is a small potted plant sitting on the porch, with a note -it might be heart-shaped, but it's poorly cut- taped to the pot. Quote: Dear Kiro and Tsu and Rosette- I grew evyone plants instead of making cards for Valuntine Day. It's grafted from some a the plants that lived after the balkano esploded. It's easy to take care of. You just keep it in the sun and water it! I hope you like it! Happy Valuntine Day! Love Handa. Kiro quietly picked up the pot, a grin suddenly spreading on his face. "See what Handa brought for us, Tsu? Isn't it colourful?!" "Whoa..." Tsu then paused, taking a moment to read the note, before asking, "Keeo... what's 'Valuntine Day'?"

~~2006/02/20~~ It was a good day when Tsu got to sit at the desk to write. He only ever sat at the desk when he was writing something important. And right now, he was writing something pretty important. He'd been letting the idea of the girl collecting sea shells mull in his mind for a few weeks now, since the day he and Kiro had been to see Pueblo and Fae. So, three sheets in (most concerning scribbling through mistakes and mispelt words), Tsu considered that he was doing fairly well. Absently the boy dipped his quill in the ink, hesitated, before hastening to look up "breeze" in the dictionary, and then continued writing, the nib scraping out the Roman lettering with care and delicacy. Then, frowning, Tsu stopped writing. He watched the page quietly, wondering why the top of the sheet looked to be lighter than the bottom. Almost like there was some sort of... "...glow...?" The jar, which Kiro had left up against the wall on the desk was glowing, the light vaguely pulsating. Or perhaps that was Tsu's eyes playing tricks on him. "Keeo!! KEEO!! ROSIE'S GLOWIN'!!""

The jar containing Rosette's items began to glow furiously. A warm orange emanation pulsed and then slowly cooled to a fierce blue. It was almost like the flame of a gas lamp in it's brightness and flickering, pulsing, movement.
The glass cracked, split, shattered. Gummy safety glass spread out about it as the contents spilled out, slinking to the edge of the desk and only barely balancing. Rosie was here.

~~2006/02/20~~ ((Continued & Backdated...)) Tsukai, as it would happen, was the only one of the inhabitants to witness Rosie's 'birth' - and watched the specticale with a gaping expression. He watched the small creature slink to the edge of the desk, watching him with beady eyes. It wasn't so much a quiet or docile expression, more a wary one. Tsu, on the other hand, did actually sport a quiet expression. He watched her for a few seconds, before reaching out with a gentle hand. " Hiya Rosie..." he murmured quietly. " You finally got here, huh? You've bin takin' ages... I was worried..." Rosie watched the Aerandir's hand get closer and closer to her, her thick tail sweeping the table behind her. Her wings flicked a little as she adjusted herself, and raised her beak up towards Tsu's careful hand. Cooing quietly, she then pressed against one of his fingers, moving to rub her head along the edge of his thumb. She liked this one. He smelled alright to her. Safe. Calm. She inched closer to him to get a better angle as she continued to rub her head alongside the other's hand. She didn't complain much when Tsu picked her up, except to flick her wings out a little and give off a generic coo of surprise. Her tail hung loose, swinging as Tsu took her out of the door to go find Kiro, who was busying himself in the Centre somewhere. " Keeo!! Keeo, Rosie's here!"

~~2006/02/26~~ Kiro So, it's official. Rosie's with us now. I didn't actually witness her birth myself, Tsu was the one around when it happened. In a way, I'm kind of pleased that's the way it happened. I mean I'm sad I missed the birth of the house's new baby girl, but I'm glad Tsu got to witness it first hand - without intrusions. I don't even think Hope was around. Kiro smiled a little as he wrote into the journal with his neat hand writing. It was the first entry he'd made in a while, partially because nothing of note had happened in a while. But also because Tsu had started keeping some of his own musings in there. Kiro didn't want to intrude, and so only making sure the most important things were documented properly seemed to be the way to go. Maybe it was worth finding the boy a journal of his own to write in might be a good idea? Well, the blonde figured this would work for now. Rosette, meanwhile, had warmed to Kiro quickly. It mostly seemed to be a matter of "Tsu trusts him, so I will too". She allowed herself to be petted, picked up, and generically carried around. She hadn't, however, taken to Hope too well. When the white kitten stalked around, Rosette did the entire opposite to Tsu, she chased the kitten off. Hope wasn't too pleased with this new state of affairs - she wasn't used to being chased anywhere! As Kiro finished writing, he turned in the chair to glance at Rosette. She was sitting on his bed, having squeezed herself under one of Tsu's shoulders as the boy lay on his stomach reading one of his growing stock-pile of storybooks. He enjoyed hearing a good story almost as much as he enjoyed telling one. Rosette seemed to be quite content to snooze nearby the other Aerandir. Thankfully, they seemed to be getting along really well. "Hey, Tsu?" Blinking, having been engrossed in the book, Tsu looked up. " Yu-huh?" "Why don't you read us that story?" " You 'n' Rosie?" Kiro nodded. " Sure!" Smiling, Kiro rose from the chair he was sitting in and motioned for Tsu to move along the bed to make room for the neko-jin to sit down. As he did so, Rosette cooed a little, having been snoozing quite contentedly. "Sorry Princess," said Kiro quietly, watching the sleepy girl peer up at him. "But you should wake up, it's storytime." Again, Rosie cooed. She then wriggled from her position near Tsu and hopped lethargically from the boy to the youth, draping herself about Kiro's shoulders and letting her tail hang down. Kiro slouched a little, so as to let her be within reach of Tsu. Somehow, the haphazard group were all bundled up together. It was kind of cute really, Kiro reflected as Tsu started to read aloud.

~~2006/03/04~~ ((Backdated...)) ((RP - Kiro gets added to the Aerandir Staff)) Alyosha Alyosha sat across from Anakiro, a thick envelope in hand, a letter in the other. Embossed on the letter could be seen the logo of the University which was funding the project and which both Alyosha and Anakiro had attended. A smile crept across Alyosha's face as he read the letter over again - he had already passed his eyes over it several times but could not help doing so one last time before handing it towards Kiro.
"Well, Niyan Anakiro, looks like there's some good news." he smiled, waiting for Kiro himself to read over the letter. As he waited he leaned back, relief washing through him. The outcome had not been certain at all but now it was in writing and solid- Kiro was to be officially on staff.
He was glad he had already begun to train him how to do things around the place - he'd hopefully be able to settle into the position a lot faster. It didn't hurt that Alyosha himself would also be getting a pay rise. He waited patiently for the neko-jin to finish. Kiro It had felt a little like being summoned into the headmaster's office when Alyosha had summoned him through. Already, the neko-jin had forgotten what he had been doing just before. Quietly, reminisent of when he had first appeared on Cetalu, he took the offered letter. His tail slipped around an ankle as he read the letter. There was one or two lines of shining praise, and he recognised a few of the names that associated themselves with the letter. Some of the Professors he had gotten on well with, others perhaps not so. The rest of the letter contained uninteresting things concerning him skipping yet another year of university and that Kiro would have to contact the university himself to sort it out. Having read over the letter, and reading over the interesting parts more than once, Kiro glanced up to Alyosha. He was of half a mind to hand the letter back and deny agreeing to anything. "I still can't believe you told me about this after the fact..." Alyosha "Well, would you have agreed?" Alyosha countered, grinning somewhat. The quiet, blonde haired boy was not very good at pushing himself forward and Alyosha had thought he needed the oppertunity to show what he was made of.
"Think of it like work experience. There's certainly nothing you're not capable of. I mean, imagine, you could begin writing your PhD on this project - a study of such a species which noone has ever done before!" he dangled the prmise of study over Anakiro, believing it would peak his interest and perhaps assuage any doubts.
"It'll be good for Tsukai too, and your new little one what have you named her?" Kiro had written the name in the ledger, Alyosha had barely glanced at it what with the rest of the work to be done. Thinking on this he added.
"And not to mention it's a great help to myself and Anthony. If I have more time to coordinate the archaology, transfer between the Islands and whatnot then the project as a whole will be improved." he smiled in what could be considered a beseeching manner.
"You wouldn't dissapoint anyone by turning this down? Such a good oppertunity and a huge help... I don't know what I'd do if I had to train someone else now... It just wouldn't be the same!" Alyosha allowed a touch of melodrama into his voice as he spoke. Kiro Kiro shook his head a little as Aly spoke. "I probably wouldn't have agreed I guess..." He glanced down again at the paper. He wasn't going to back out now, he'd committed himself to the project. But still... "Rosette. Tsu named her, actually..." Aly was right. There was Tsu and Rosie to think of. Rosie wasn't too attatched yet, but Tsu would need Kiro sticking around for at least a little longer. And if this looked to be a long-term committment, then so much the better. He glanced up again. "No, I'm not thinking of turning it down. If nothing else, there would have been a lot of paperwork done in vain, I guess." He smiled slightly at his weak attempt at a joke. "I just keep wondering if there wasn't someone who would do the job better, I suppose. Lots of the guardians have been here longer, and they know the project better right? Or there's post-graduates from the university that would be great for this sort of thing - dreaming of it as a perfect job after graduation. I mean-" There the blonde hesitated. He was talking too much. And then he felt his cheeks flush as realised it. Crap. Alyosha "Ahh Rosette, pretty" he smiled as he watched the kid flail slightly. He'd known Kiro would be a little flustered but eventually he'd get used to the idea. "Kiro, I wouldn't have asked, and it wouldn't have been accepted, if you hadn't been the best man for the job. Now, no more worrying along that line... "
Alyosha reached down into his drawer and pulled out a reasonable stack of papers and dossiers. He thumped the pile down on the desk and grinned slightly. "Well, here's a little something to keep your mid from worrying." Alyosha's smile was mischevious. "There's enough reading material here for a week, I expect you to report back to me once you've read this to make sure you understand it all" he paused briefly, leaning forward on the desk and after a moments thought added "Congratulations, Anakiro." Kiro Kiro blinked, not expecting the thump that came with the thick stack of papers. He looked up again at Alyosha before speaking, adopting a slight smile. "Thanks." He paused, before adding, "I think..." He then stood, the smile still on his face as 'the way of things' began to sink in, and took up the pile of papers, seeming to hug them nervously to his chest. This was something important and he sure as Hell planned to do it well. And, as Aly had pointed out, it would be a good subject to study for his PhD, and put him in the best position to do it. "I should, uhh, probably get to the reading thing then," he said after a moment's quiet contemplation, standing there with an armful of papers. "Seriously. Thanks a lot. I really do appreciate this, despite how I make it look." With that the neko-jin turned to leave, his footsteps seeming bold as opposed to the usual timid tiptoeing. He had lots to read in a week...!

~~2006/03/12~~ Rosie, it turned out, was quite the inquisitive creature. As Kiro was buried in his reading, Tsu had taken it upon himself to be a Rosie's babysitter, and what a mammoth task that was proving to be! It wasn't that she was excitable, or anything of that sort. She just seemed to find so many new ways to occupy herself. One of these seemed to involve defending her place in the slowly growing family, and she and Hope contended for the top female spot. Kiro could see what they were doing, it was normal behaviour when two animals were brought together. Hell, he'd seen it often enough with the girls at High School. Tsu, however, was clueless. Kiro didn't have the heart to tell the small boy that trying to explain to the two of them about being friends was probably an effort in vain. On this particular day, however, Rosie had decided the time was ripe for having a good old explore. So, off she frolicked, her thick tail thumping along the ground as she loped out of the room and out of the Centre. Tsu was lucky he'd glanced up when he did. Otherwise he might have never noticed the striped tail pull out of the door. Dropping what he was doing, the small boy fled after her. He came to the front doors of the Centre and glanced about. Where had she gone to?! And there was that tell-tale striped appendage zipping around the corner. And so Tsu followed it. She led him all the way around the Centre, and when he finally caught up with her, a strange sight greeted him. Rosie was there, sitting with her head tilted at her companion. A small gryphon was peering back at Rosie. It seemed to be a rabbit of some description, but not being very familiar with birds, Tsu had no idea what the other part of it might be. Quietly, the boy looked about for a guardian, but there seemed to be none in sight. This was... confusing... Tsu watched as Rosie moved towards the other, and nuzzled it gently. But instead of moving away, the girl kept the contact constant. The two were looking at each other intently, as though they were... conversing, maybe? Tsu took a few steps towards them, then taking it upon himself to sit with them. He laid a hand on Rosie's back, glad she was used to his touch enough by now to allow it. The sounds that filled Tsu's head were... strange. Like baby gurgles to a human perhaps. He reached a hand towards the rabbit gryphon, fully expecting it to pull away from him. But, instead, it allowed him to touch its fur. Perhaps they were pleased to allow another to join their 'conversation'. Kiro I found them around the back of the Centre, both fast asleep. They'd not been there for more than half an hour, I'd last seen them that long ago. I'm wondering what they were up to, but I don't really want to pry. Tsu's seemed a little fidgety since then too. Maybe I'll ask him. Just not right now.

~~2006/05/13~~ It had been quite a while since Rosie and Tsu had had their encounter with the strange creatures at the back of the Centre. Tsu hadn't told Kiro about it, still not sure if they were 'allowed' to be there. Instead he had spent his time reading more books and writing down stories (his spelling was actually getting a lot better, Kiro had noticed with some pride). Rosie also seemed to be getting herself a bit of a personality, her favourite past time seeming to be the chewing of anything she could get into her mouth. The desk seemed to be a particular favourite, and even now she clung to the corner, leaning over deftly to chew at the wood. Every so often she would slip and lose her balence, her wings flapping out a few times in surprise before settling down to her chewing again. At least, Kiro was sure she was chewing, despite having no teeth. It was a bit of a phenomenum really. Absently, Kiro reached out a hand and ran it down Rosie's back. She paused in her pursuit of chewing and cooed a little, flicking her wings a little as Kiro dislodged a few feathers. At the sound, Tsu also looked up. " Hey, Keeo?" "Uh-huh?" " Y'know in my journal?" Kiro nodded, a little apprehensive. "Sure. What about it?" " Is Rosie gonna be in it too?" Kiro couldn't tell, by Tsu's tone of voice, whether Rosie sharing his journal would be a good or bad thing. And then there also came the dilemma that - when Rosie was old enough to keep her own journal - how would they feel about sharing? "Well..." Kiro moved from the chair to sit on the floor alongside the Aerandir. "I was actually thinking of getting you guys your own journals." Tsu's eyes went wide in surprise. He was expecting to have to share with Rosie. " Wow! A journal of my own!?" "Mmmhmm, if you want one." It was so easy to make children happy, Kiro reflected as he caught Tsu's energetic hug. Now to actually find some stationay that could suffice as a journal. Shouldn't be too hard to get he supposed. Rosie, at this point, tilted her head with a quiet coo before going back to vandalising the edge of the desk.
