kingpinsqeezels Coffee May Be Hot No, my parents don't. First, because my town is 80% Jewish, and second, you should be proud of what you are. That's my thought. But if someone is ever anti-semite towards me I verbally kick their a**...I do understand why people would have restrictions though... sweatdrop Though to be honest, I've never been anywhere where someone said something anti-semitic to my face. The closest I've come was when I was in Israel, to go to the Kotel we walked through the Muslim Quarter, and everyone was staring at us.

It's really dangerous over there in the arab quarters, my friend told me that he went in there with some friends, and arab children dropped rocks and glass bottles from the roof tops down on them. Bleh... Let's just not go there, and we're all good 3nodding .

Hmm...I'm not Jewish, but I suppose wearing stuff that instantly points out you're Jewish would be tantamount to me wearing a pentagram. Now, I don't because I don't care much for adornment, but I suppose I can't really draw parallels since pentagrams recieve so much bad press. If you want to wear something that proclaims your faith, go right ahead. If Muslims can wear headscarves, Christians can wear crucifixes, Wiccans can wear pentagrams and Satanists can wear goats' heads with pride, then Jewish people should also wear clothing that shows them as Jewish with pride.

People always call the Teffilin "Those black boxes". People always call the Tzitzit "Those strings". People always call the Kippa "That funny hat".

I've been called the K-word before (I don't know how to spell that word) and I got this really weird letter in middle school after everyone had seen Passion of Christ. It said something like "Hey Jew! I can't speak to you; You killed my friend." rolleyes I don't recall ever doing that. On to the T-shirt thing, they actually annoy me a little. I wish I could give a reason for it, but I don't know why they annoy me. I like the "I'm Jew-ish" shirt someone mentioned on the first page, though.

I am from Iareal so i have no problem walking with a jew mark or somthing... most of my shirt have an english sentence though.. when i go abroad with my family i don't care about wearing something that will point my judism, and my parents donwt care too but again - we don't normally wear all that... the restrictions are when i go abroad with delegations... that happened 3 times and hopfully happen again this summer... the delegations were to Croatia, ME USA and Poland... as a part of the security instructions we got before flying we were ordered not to wear ANYTHING that is a mark of us being jewish...
in Croatia is was totally forbiden in USA we were allowed to wear them only in kabalat shabat or international dinners where each camper had to wear his traditional outfit. in Poland kippa was allowed only in holy placed like beit kneset or cemeteries or death camps and so on, in all of those places we also carryied about 15 flags... we also had a sweatshirt in hebrew which we were wearing to ceremonies...
about language, i LOVE talking english, so i do it as much as i can, but i dont have an issue with talking in hebrew abroad.
*note: i am not religious, not me or my school mates wear Kippa or tzitziot.....*

I'd like to point out that those "cute little 'everyone loves a jewish girl'" shirts used to have dollar signs on them instead of hearts or bubbles or whatever's on them now.
Offensive much?
From time to time, I remember to wear my Mogen David, but even when I don't, one of the first things people learn about me is that I'm Jewish. I don't try to hide it.
Someone I thought was my friend called me a "******** Jew" and then tried to laugh it off as a joke. Another one told me, "Shut up, Jew," like it was an insult.
Some people are just rude.
