if you cant imagine jesus doing it dont do it.

this is the dumbest advice i have ever heard. i mean lets examine this for a moment. do you think that you could imagin jesus wearing a spiked collar having his nipples pierced, being tattooed or wearing a long black coat in the summer time? i guess i should change my sty;e then.
I think the dumbest thing to do is say that kind of stuff about ANY advice you're given.

that deppends. if advice is actualy good then take it. but advice like the example shown is most definitely not profitable. i mean think abotu that for a second. i can't imagin jesus ever wearing sneakers. thsi i shouldn't? that can't be right.
When someone gives you advice it's your choice to take it or leave it, but you don't have the right of say is a dumb advice, because if you don't take it, someone else would and actually find it useful.

really? because the adbvice given was purely bad. see, one of two things. i can't imagin a goth Jesus. (well, actually i can becasue i have a verry liberal amount of imagination but most people can't) i can imagine Jesus smoking weed if they'd had it. (seriously think about it, His Father put it on earth to begin with) i could also imagine Him going to the club to unwind with the boys after a long days traveling. i can definitely imagine Him drinking because he DID.

thus the advice was flawed.

and Vic i could advise people to brush thier teeth with bleach because it kills like 100% of bacteria and whitens teeth. but on the other hand it's poisonous so your explanation of why no advice is bad is also flawed.

note: Lazarus The Resurected does not advise the brushing of thheth with bleach. that's just plain dumb.

I think what they mean is that we should all strive to be more like Jesus, not that we should actually dress like him.

No, I have never and I have no intension of trying.
Losing all inhibitions, acting foolishly, most likely throwing up, then a splitting headache in the morning does NOT sound like a good time to me.

I know you said drinking not getting wasted, but I'm pretty sencitive to stuff. A fruity little cocktail drink would probably get me atleast a little drunk, while it would do nothing to others.

Don't knock it 'till you try it.

yay for the concept of building tolerance. this can be done in one of two ways. (please not both of these methods should be done in the presence of people you trust to look after you.)
1: get trashed. completly and utterly shitfaced. don't stop drinking until you puke. repeat the process a few times and you will begin to notice that it takes more booze to get you as drunk. then scale it all back. you'll be able to consume a few drinks and get a slight buzz and then stop.

since you don't like the idea of getting trashed in the first place i wouldn't recomend this to you.

2: drink in moderation from the start. it takes longer to build a tolerance but it cuts down the risk of idiocy and hangover.

If you don't want to drink then don't. As for don't knock it 'till you try it, I think drinking is somthing that you can "knock" before you try it. That being said, I have been drunk on several occasions. While it is fun for a while, it is not so great waking up with a hangover and or still drunk (I hate waking up drunk). Also, it's not so pleasant having people come up to you later that week saying how you were wondering around the back yard, Shitfaced, crying because you couldn't get any Gatorade. It also can't be fun for the people who aren't trashed ( and believe me, I get realy f***ed up) to stand around and take care of you (I've been on both sides of this).

Yeah... I think I'm done drinking sweatdrop

see there's the problem with people and drinking for the most part. none of the people i talk to on this topic seem to have the concept of moderation. Come ON! it's simple as soon as the initial buzz of the alcohol kicks in eitherfinish your drink and stop drinking, or spend a long time on your next few drinks. by doing this you keep control over yourself and you don't end up going falling asleep with a cigarette still between your lips and burning yourself. this is why i advise to give drinking a try just do it responsably. I had to learn the lesson the hard way myself.
