Poor Baptiste, sitting there so confused and dejected Tamlin had to think as she stared at him over her knees (she was still to miffed to show it outwardly, but she was feeling more sympathetic to him). At least he was man enough to be apologizing properly. But now that she was looking at the problem more objectively she didn't know what to do. It certainly would be too cold soon to stay outside.
"Well, it Is Your wagon, and it Is getting colder. But... it just isn't proper.... sharing a bed y'know. Perhaps I could ask Caroline for some space, I think she mentioned Ro taking care of the Banya wagon now."
Tam fidgeted a little bit. It was a valid thought, even though she wouldn't like imposing on Caroline. And as much as she didn't want to admit it, she liked living with Baptiste. He was easy going and they had fallen into a comfortable pace together. She would regret it if this issue ruined their easy friendship

Baptiste frowns gently. He wasn't fond of this idea at all. "Tamlin..." he starts, then stops, realizing he had no idea what to say. She was an independent woman, who has every right and ability to live wherever she likes, but he felt a certain responsibility for her, and he wasn't comfortable at all with the idea of giving that responsibility to someone else. He sighs softly before continuing. "If you think that would be best," he concedes at last. "But I don't see the need for you to move to another wagon. I--" he sighs again. "If it were up to me I'd see you stay with me."

"I.. well... ah..." Too shocked to come up with a straight sentence Tamlin sat in awkward silence as she felt her ears burning. This had certainly never happened before. She wasn't naive towards men, but for some reason Baptiste was different, even living together she had never thought of him as more then a friend she traveled with. But his words threw her mind into confusion. Even though his statement meant she didn't have to leave, just as she had wanted.
"Well.. if you say it like that... but then we have the same problem, Winter is coming and we can't have you catching your death sleeping outside in the snow"

Which is why I started this conversation in the first place, thinks Baptiste. He sighs. "I suppose my word as a gentleman still wouldn't make it proper?" he tries. They're gypsies, dammit. What happened to the living like family tradition? Damn women and their blasted propriety.

Tamlin had to give a little, this was getting silly, and she felt sorry for making Baptiste sleep outside of his own house for so long. "well, perhaps it wouldn't make it proper..." She hesitated, "but, I'm apt to believe you a decent man"

Baptiste has to smile at her. "I do thank you," he says, sweeping a comical bow. "If it will make you more comfortable, I may sleep on top of the blankets," he suggests.

Tamlin's face turned rosy red again "ah... no need for that now...." She fumbled for a reason "well you see, it's still not that cold, and, and..." She spotted Alais who had worked her way into the mass of pillows. Tam scooped the rather put out raccoon into her arms "See, I have Alais and all these pillows, if i place them on the floor and cuddle up with Alais it will be fine. That way you get your bed back"
Alais dangled from the woman's arms. she had been resting happily on a mound of soft pillows and was not happy with being awoken in this fashion. She scrambled out of Tam's arms and wrapped herself around Tam's neck looking up at her with a perturbed expression.

"Mon dieu, woman, you are difficult!" exclaims Baptiste. "If anyone will be sleeping on the floor it will be me!" He stamps his foot gently and crosses his arms over his chest in an attempt to look powerful. The effect is evocative of a rather tall toddler who isn't getting his way.

She was shocked at his outburst and murmured a soft "sorry" at Baptiste's pouting figure. he was right, she was being difficult, but... with reason! now it was her turn to pout.
Alais sat there on Tam's shoulders and gave an obvious sniff of disapproval. these two were both being so silly and in doing so keeping her from sleeping.

Baptiste shakes his head and runs his hand through his sand-colored hair. "This is getting ridiculous," he mutters. "You take the bed, I'll take the floor, we'll figure this out in the morning." He holds out a hand to help her into the lofted bed. In such a small wagon it had been only sensible to put the bed higher up with storage space beneath.

Sensible words, Alais thought, some of the first she had heard from this man. She hopped first back on to the bed, picking out the choice spot for herself.
Tamlin took Baptiste's hand tentatively and climbed back into the bed. Just as she was about to let go she burst out laughing. "Oh this is beyond ridiculous! You are right, I'm being difficult. here," She tightened her grasped and pulled on Baptiste's hand. "come on up" she had relented, but she shot him a sarcastically threatening look. "but, stay on top of the covers or I'll have to go grab my frying pan and protect my honor!"

"On my honor, madam!" he agrees enthusiastically, holding his hand in the air. He hops up onto the bed and takes off his boots. He says nothing about the furry creature inhabiting his bed for now, not when the situation is tenuous at best. But once they'd become a bit more comfortable...it would have to sleep on the floor, at least.
Baptiste takes the outside, hopping down briefly to turn back the covers for Tamlin and put out the lantern. He then climbs back into bed, lying atop the covers on his stomach, using his elbow for a pillow. "G'night, Tamlin," he murmurs softly.

Hyas flaps his wings, startled as the Meij washes over him. What once was, is no more. What once was mended, now broken. How will you sleep? Where will you sleep?
