Btw, if you want Karma to meet up with Saffron or Kane, I can do that. LOL Karma hasn't talked to anyone in a while...))
Aspen flintched as Saffron slammed the door. He turned around to see a tear on Takeko's face. Aspen went over and swiftly took her in his arms, "It's ok..." He wasn't sure if it was Saffron that made her cry or something else entirely.

((*chuckles* I started an RP for Kane and Maya, but Mel never has posted. I'll have to prod her about that as soon as she gets back to RPing again. Not sure Kane would be the best Pae to meet Karma anyway, but Saffron could be good. He really needs to meet some other Pae anyway. wink ))
"Maybe it is, maybe it isn't...who knows, really?" Takeko murmured mysteriously. Even she wasn't exactly sure what she was talking about, or even why she was so upset. Instead, she simply leaned on Aspen, drawing strength from her husband even as tears flowed silently down her face. She wished she knew what was wrong with her all of a sudden, but she could only pray the Guardians would help her through this, or at least help her discover what was wrong so she could try to help herself.

Aspen pulled her close and wiped away her tears. "I know it will. We have each other and our kids aren't that far away." He wasn't sure what was causing Takeko to become so upset. "Kids grow up, but they will always be near." He hoped he was helping her feel better.

Takeko sensed that Aspen didn't really know what was upsetting her so much...and yet he really was helping. "I'm sorry, love. You're right; I know that. I have no idea why I'm acting this way." She sniffled slightly, wiping her eyes once again. "I suppose I'm just being silly. Forgive me." She sighed, resting her head on Aspen's shoulder and hugging him tightly.

"You are never silly!" He said to her, meaning that tears weren't silly..but it came out odd. He wiped away her tears. "Maybe we should go for a walk or something?" He wanted to cheer her up somehow.

Takeko chuckled softly. "Never silly? At all? Aww...then I'm not much fun at all, am I?" She smiled through her waning tears, feeling slightly better. "I think a walk would be wonderful. Perhaps getting out of the house for a while is just what I need." She nodded, hugging Aspen again before taking his hand and heading for the door. She had been spending a lot of time in the house lately. She could use a little time outside, surrounded by the trees and bright sky.

Takeko smiled, kissing Aspen's cheek tenderly. "I knew what you meant, sweetheart. Thank you." Chuckling, she squeezed his hand as they headed out the door. "How about we head for the river and go from there? It's been so long since we've shared a walk like this."

Aspen smiled, "That sounds really nice. Yeah, we should do this more often." He squeezed her hand as they walked, it was wonderful being alone with her again.

Takeko's wings fluttered slightly as he squeezed her hand. "We should," she nodded in agreement.
After a few moments of calm silence, staring at the river, Takeko looked at Aspen questioningly. "Love? Have you ever considered the future? I mean, the kids are almost grown now...soon they'll be moving out," she cringed internally just thinking about it. "Soon it'll just be us again. What do we do now?"

Aspen looked ahead of them, he hadn't thought about it before. "We could try for more kids." He said with a slight chuckle, "Or just be happy with each other." That what his parents did when his brother and him moved out.

Takeko blushed, a genuine laugh bursting from her lips. "That's...not quite what I meant, but you're right." She smiled, squeezing his hand as they gazed out over the river. "And I'm quite happy with you, you know." She leaned against him, gently resting her head on his shoulder as she began musing quietly.
"I just meant...I almost can't remember a time before you anymore...or a time in which I wasn't watching over some young Pae. First there was Kane, then Cabel...then Mei Lien and Saffron, our own beautiful babies. Now that there's no one to watch over anymore, I feel like there's nothing left for me to do." She stared outwards, watching the water ripple as it flowed over the smooth river rocks, not feeling sad...just thoughtful.

Aspen listened to Takeko and sighed, "I barely remember a time without you either, and I don't want it any other way." Aspen pulled her closer to give another hug. "You have to watch over me for one!" He said as he brushed her long hair back. "I could get in trouble at any moment."

Takeko giggled, grinning back. "You're right." She smirked, running her fingers through his hair. "You've been a troublemaker from the start, ya' know..." Winking, she kissed his cheek and laughed, pushing away suddenly and dashing down the riverside.
"Bet ya' can't catch me!" she called back, laughing and feeling like a young Pae again for the first time in a long time.

Aspen chuckled, "Oh really, have I?" When she went running off he gave chase. He liked she her smile and hearing her laugh. "Oh yes I will!" He bounced after her with a smile.
