The child just stared up at her. She made some kind of noise, but it was indistinguishable. She looked at Tou again, but quickly dropped her gaze.

Dora comes running up to where the others stand, Irwin trotting along casually behind her. She stops, a little out of breath. "Are we too late?"

Jamie placed Chiyo down on the ground for a moment, as she was going to speak to Dora.
Tou smiled sweetly, holding her arms out as a gesture to Chiyo. Tou had a weak spot for the younger monkeys; she loved looking after them.
Jamie walked up to the panting Dora, patting her on the back.
"Nah, just in time. We'll be leaving in half an hour or so, I'm just getting little Chiyo used to a few of the monkeys. Will you be coming too, or just Irwin?"

Dora smiles and shrugs. "I guess it depends on whether or not he wants me to come with. He still gets a little nervous when I leave him."
Irwin looks up at her in shock. "Mum! Don't tell people that!"

Being let to the ground, Chiyo urned her eyes to Tou. She was surprised to see she was smiling. Ears drooping, she took a nervous step forward. "T..." she began.

"I'd love for you to come, it'll be fun! 'Sides, if Irwin feels confident he can go off with the other monkeys, but if he feels a little nervous you would always be there. And there's plenty room in the car for everyone." Jamie said, sticking her tongue out at Irwin.
Tou nodded encouragingly. "That's it Chiyo! T-oo. Wanna' come here? You can sit on my lap until we're ready to go if you'd like."

Chiyo took another few steps, but didn't sit. "T...oo..." she mumbled. Syllables weren't too difficult, it was putting them together that her mouth couldn't muster.

Dora nods and smiles at Tora, and bends down to pat Irwin on the back. "I'm going to come to the beach with you, okay? But if you don't want me to bother you and your friends I can always get out of your way."
Irwin nods slowly, obviously still a bit unused to the extra bit of weight on his head. "Okay Mum. Are there crocodiles at the beach?"
Dora laughs a bit, rubbing Irwin's skull. "I don't think so."

Jamie giggled. "Nah, no crocodiles. Although there will be little crabs, and starfish!"
"THAT'S IT! You said my name Chiyo, you said a word!" Tou exclaimed, rather excited. "That's REALLY good. And if you don't want to sit with me, you dun' have too" she added smiling.

Chiyo grinned, but hid it. So, it wasn't REALLY word...but it was a start. "Tou..." she repeated, and approached her fully, deciding not to sit in her lap but beside her instead.

Jamie fluttered around for a while, checking this and that. She finally coughed, and announced in a happy voice, "Ok everyone, I think we're ready to go! Here's my list of names:

... and Hana n' Kit, but they are going through on the train. If I've missed anyone, please shout at me! Now everyone, please load your luggage into the boot and find a good seat!"

Dora grabs a small bag and throws it over her shoulder, walking towards Jamie's car. Irwin walks alongside her, wagging his tail. "Well, Ir, where shall we sit?"
Irwin's tail wags more. "In the front!"
Dora laughs, having expected that answer from the excited Skull Monkey. "That's where Jamie and Tou will sit. Is it okay if we sit in the back?"
Irwin nods happily. Dora opens the door and climbs inside, scooting over so Irwin can sit next to her.

Jamie smiled, throwing her luggage in the corner of the boot, leaving it open for the other people.
Tou leaped into the other front seat, leaving room for one other monkey. She suspected Chiyo would like to sit there, or maybe Calli or Aiden.
[Anyone who isn't here right now can just 'appear' in the car later xD]

Zephyr grumbled to herself as she climbed into the back of the car. Every now and then she glanced up at Jaclyn as though sizing her up - there had to be a way to escape her vile clutches! VILE! Honestly - dragging her to the beach of all places. With all that water...ugh... She spared a brief glance at the monkeys she could see, wondering if maybe one of them would be worth planning an escape with later.
Jaclyn, on the other hand, was apparently oblivious to any plotting by her young charge. She took the seat next to Zephyr and leaned over to make sure the monkey was buckled in securely. "Don't worry so much, Z. It'll be lots o' fun."
