As the rat carried on with what he was doing a cold breeze had entered the room several minutes later, the candle flicked, threatning to go out as a ghost floated through the wall of the room the rat was in. Hortencia smirked a little as she floated over to the bed and just floated in front of it and looked curious at the rat "My good sir, you called for me?" She asked asked the other curiously, wondering what this was all about but also because she wished to humor him also.
When she was alive she too dabbled in the art of Divination, she wasnt probably as knoweldgable as the rat but yes she did while away the hours reading the cards and the like. However it was just a past time, she wasnt all that good at it and only did it for a few years before putting her cards away for good and giving up on it when she fell pregnant.

Thank the stars it was one of those run-of-the-mill manifestations - nothing angry or bleed-y or displaying hereto unknown traits. Nothing angry. He must've done something right.

((I am sorry for the long post, I thought it would be good to have the rat learn about the Fox's background (in one way) a bit and why he is how he is now. It is also for my own use later when i add it to Ly's profile page, granted it will be reworded a bit but still it is here so I dont lose it in my million and one files on my computer that I need to clean out. sweatdrop ))
Hortencia smiled softly at the other as she floated over to her old dressing table and sat down on the chair there, missing the antique greatly. This room was once hers, it used to be alot nicer then this however she died here so she sort of didnt wish to come to this room anymore. This room held to many bad memories, obviously, and so she hadnt known how much this room had changed.
"I suggest you sit back and get comfortable because it is going to be a long story."
The ghost turned around and smiled softly at the other as he finished speaking and got up to face him once more "Eclipse is obviously one who is not of this world, he has been made by the devil himself. His body and the demon that possesses it have both been made by the devil and yet somewhere along the road he has lost his 'true calling'. His 'true calling' was once a blood sucking vampire but over the years he has been 'alive' he has come to realise there is so much more to this world then just killing, for a purpose or not.
He DOES still do that, he does still kill when he wants to and sucks the blood from others to leave them almost dead BUT, to his makers displeasure, he just isnt like he once was.
Though upon saying that he isnt exactly of this world or the underworld like I said either, there is one wolf by the name of Lycurgus who he has, lets just say, an 'attatchment' to and it is not an 'attatchment' that is what you could call 'normal' in any means. For you see Eclipse has known this wolf ever since Lycurgus was in his pack that he became pack leader of when he was sixteen years old, though Lycurgus went though a sort of 'initiation' that Eclipse was part of. Noone knows of this 'initiation' except for those who end up being chosen as pack leader and have to take this secret to the grave with them well after their reign or if they dont they have to forfeit their lives wether they want to or not.
Anyway, Lycurgus bares Eclipse's mark, on his right cheek he has a celtic cross with a skull in the middle of it and one demon and one angel wing on each side of the cross and due to his mark he has terrible brusing on his cheek also. If he tries to remove it in any way he will die, the only way he can get rid of it is if he becomes immortal in some way. I dont know how exactly how becoming immortal can help get rid of this but it is said to be the only way to be rid of such a mark."
She said as she floated over to the fire place and 'sat' down in her old chair she used to love and just looked into the fire, as if trying to search for her thoughts before telling the other what that mark can do to a person. After a few minutes she had collected her thoughts and continued but kept looking into the flames of the fire "the 'intitiation' that I spoke of has more background then anyone could ever have thought possible and Eclipse is the center of it all. He has the power to send Lycurgus to another 'world' with a strange incantation in a launguage that none of us have ever known. In this other world Lycurgus, as the pack leader, is killed as a 'sacrifice' and in return he is then revived and given a great power, a power one could only ever imagine and is returned to this world.
Though this power is ONLY for pack leaders of his pack and is ONLY needed IF they are faced with a death-death situation and that is when Lycurgus is advised to be sent to this 'other world' where he recives this power to help protect his pack from the situation at hand. Lycurgus accepted the job of pack leader willingly and when that happend he was made to be pack leader no matter what, he couldnt back out of it as it was part of the 'initiation contract', if you wished to call it that.
Anyway thanks to Eclipse, you could say, he 'owns' someones life, as all the past pack leaders have died and taken the secret to the grave with them Eclipse now gets to 'toy' with Lycurgus and if he gives his word he can easily have this 'other world' kill him for good. I dont know how Eclipse got a hold of this 'other world' or how he even came to semi or fully control it but he isnt like he was when he was placed on this earth back in year 1313.
Lycurgus, due to the fact he never died, is still under 'oath' of the contract wether the pack broke it off with Eclipse or not, I dont know the jist of it but yes it does mean he can still 'own' this wolf. Kycurgus can speak of this openly also and not die because of this, I dont know the secret behind it but Eclipse wont give up Lycurgus for anything.
Eclipse wants one thing and one alone and if he cant get it then that means causing havoic wherever he can though in subtle ways. Like tonight, you only got bitten BUT if you wanted to he could of taken all your blood and left you for dead.
Eclipse is just like anyone else, he wants to make friends and have fun and everything else. BUT when he recived this 'power' he changed, he was never into torture and the likes when he first arrived here but now he is and is. Eclipse is basically like Wednesday Addams, that is IF you have seen the Addams Family movie you will know what he is like however he is a more happier version of her.
I can not say what this 'power' has done to him but it has made him out to be how he is now and even if he loses the 'power' in some way he probably will still be like this as it is the way he now has gotten used to. Another thing you might have noticed is that when he starts getting hungry he flirts. After an hour or two, cant remember exact time, he will just grab the nearest thing and take its blood and leaves them for dead if he is hungry enough and hasnt fed.
The Eclipse you are seeing now was what he was like a little back in the early years he was placed on this earth BUT he HATED that part of him so he hid it. This 'power' has played on it so you now see the one true thing he hated about himself and he cant get rid of it which is probably annoying him like mad silently.
But, as I said, because of how he IS no matter if he CAN get rid of it he will still act this way because he has been set in his ways for a few hundred years. He will, IF he ever got rid of it, try to go back to how he was but he will more then likely not suceed because he isnt one who persues things.
He wasnt one to persue things before he got the 'power' unless he REALLY wanted to so I highly doubt he would be one to persue getting rid of this side of him even if he lost it. But one thing is for certain he wants Lyrgurgus and he wont stop trying to get him in any way possible. So if that means killing his mate, children and anyone else who stands in his way then so be it.
He wants Lycurgus to be his and his alone, he loved Lycurgus once and those two became best friends and yet time past and stuff happend and they lost contact, Eclipse fell out of love towards Lycurgus. But now that he is back on the scene it can only mean that Lycurgus is the object of his affection once more and he wont stop to get what he wants to be his.
If he cant have Lycurgus then he will make sure noone will, even if it means death. Why hasnt he killed him yet? Because he believes in having fun with his food, torture them and try and get them to change first before taking their life.
However, in Lycurgus's way, he has no heart to kill him. He WILL if hge is pushed far enough BUT he wants to try EVERY way possible to get Lycurgus to give up his mate and family before he kills him. Besides, he loves to have 'fun' if he kills Lycurgus he knows a semi decent part of his fun will be finished and he doesnt want that.
A vampire loves blood, he lives for blood so torture is a prime way of getting the blood he craves IF he has someone who he can 'play' with. Cruel, yes, but he was cruel with or without the 'power' and why wouldnt he be? He IS still the devils own creation, he wouldnt exactly be Mr Nice now would he?
His main focus is Lycurgus, to anyone and everyone else he is sweet, friendly, kind etc and has no hate for anyone really unless need be. He doesnt get upset like others, he isnt quick to temper like others (unless he is hungry of course) and nothing can make him upset. He doesnt take part in arguments unless he is passionate about them and even then it is rare he would raise his voice in them.
He, however, can only be killed in two ways as you know but as for those ways I am not able to tell you as even I dont know. But all I can suggest is that you tred carefully with him, though he IS what I said he is he can STILL be one to harm you. Be careful around him, he can be trusted but not alot, it depends on how you take him when you first meet him. He DOES want friends, more then he would ever possibly say, BUT at the same time he doesnt want anyone which is why its hard to get close to him. He is unpredictable and always has been and so it is safer to try and earn his trust first before you trust him completely and while doing that make sure you dont give him suspision to hate you.
You thought about stealing from him, wether it was a passing thought or you were serious about it, he was planning on letting you go unscathed and still with blood in you. However you thought of something that upset him so he feed off you, he wanted to become friends with you, he wanted to try this out but now you have put him back to where he started.
He realised that though he wants friends they arnt worth the hassle when the one you might be able to befriend is more then happy to steal from you. As I said, wether you were going to or not, the mere thought was enough to upset him and no longer trust you in even the smallest of ways.
It has been 4 years since he last befriended someone and that someone was Lycurgus, before that it had been over four hundred and fifty years that he had a friend. You see these animals around the place? THEY are his friends, he believes them to be ALOT more loyal then humans, especially Priscilla.
If you want to even get anywhere with him I suggest try not to upset him which would be a good start because if you do upset him then you are no longer worth his time basically. As he said, he would speak to you in the morning BUT wether he wishes to try and make friends with you still is another thing all together. I doubt he will BUT it's up to him, as I said, he is unpredictable, so anything could happen" she said as she moved back over to her dresser, 'sat' down on the seat and played with her hair a little.

It took Gideon a whole three minutes to realize the ghost had finished. Eyes glazed over, mouth slack, "Should I have been taking notes?" he meeped, settling into a contemplative position with a hmpf, chin resting in one hand. He really hadn't expected to get so much information - not that he was complaining, not in the least. Just... dear stars in heaven...
Okay... so long story short, Eclipse was a demon who'd turned away from his original purpose of death death pain mayhem torture and death, fallen in love with a guy who wouldn't have him, been given a power that reminded his essence of the death death pain mayhem torture and death and turned to embrace it in distress and now was giving this poor Lycurgus fellow a hell of a time with the death death pain mayhem torture and death. ...Couldn't say he'd seen this before.
What to do about it, though? Demons he could... well, no. He couldn't exorcise demons. Not that such would work in this case, where the necessary thing to get rid of was not the demon himself but that which reminded and bound him to his demonic nature. Oh stars... How'd he get so tied up in this? Well... at least everyone seemed pretty convinced that Eclipse didn't want to kill him. That was good news.
Now all he needed was a way to cleanse Eclipse of that power... whatever it was. To shut down the ability to... whatever - maybe somehow turn the vampire into a null? Some sort of... empty space for the supernatural, so he could no longer access that power? But how? "Why couldn't it be easy?" he groaned, hiding his face in hands, "Like... like arsenic in tea or something?"

"That is another reason noone wishes to get involved with Eclipse, he is not easy at all to deal with but he is interesting, rather interesting actually. He and I have spoken many times but I think that if you want to do anything to him you would have to think of something great. Though remember, if you do go up agiesnt him once more, he can and will take your blood and leave you for dead if you do something.
All I ask is that you tred carefuly because you might not leave here alive if you do something to upset him. I like you, you dont seem that bad of a person but I cant help you if you wish to do something that will, in the end, have Eclipse harm you worse then he did tonight."
She said to him as she paced back and forth a little in frontof the bed, wondering what Eclipse would do to the other before she remembered her cards. She turned to the other and smiled softly at him "I know this is out of character sir but I would like you to have something." She said as she floated over to the draws in her dresser "in the second drawer down there are two packs of tarot cards.
"In the second draw down on the left there are two packs of tarot cards, both placed into a valvet draw string bag and wraped in a peice of silk. I love the second greatly so I wish to give you the first pack which I got a few weeks before I fell pregnant. I havent used the cards much at all unlike the other pack so please, take them if you wish.
They are what one would call 'antique' but I know you would value from them greater then I ever have and would have a better use for them also. I cant really use them anymore so I am more then happy to give you the pack that was bearly used." He said to the other, knowing she wouldnt mind if that pack was taken, the other however held alot of sentimental value for her and just wouldnt be able to part with them ever, dispite being dead.

The rat nodded along absentmindedly in all sorts of agreement with the ghost - besides, what good would it do to argue A - with the dead when B - he didn't actually... know anything here, much less a solution. He'd work on it. Stars, he would work. Already the murmurs of an idea whispered through the back of his mind - there was rumor, wasn't there? In the old Janitor's place, of that boy... the serpent from the garden. Maybe, if an inch of those were true...
"Wait, what?" he asked suddenly at the ghost's proposal. Gifts? From the undead? Good stars! "I... uh... thank you," he recovered, pushing himself to his feet and skittering over to the drawer, carefully avoiding all possible contact with the ghost - physicality wasn't a suggested method of interaction when it came to spirits, y'know?
With all care and measure available, he withdrew the first pack and held it up in the dim, flickering light, peering with both interest and intent. "Thank you very much," he murmured. A connection to this house? Nothing better or more suited to him than these.

Hortencia smiled at the rat and walkedover to the bed and 'sat' upon it "you are most welcome, I know it is a little odd giving you such a gift or any gift as a matter of fact but as I said, I like you. All I ask is that you take good care of them" she said, assuming he would, but there was still a small part that didnt want to see them go dispite howlittle she had used them but she knew they would be better off in his hands now.

Enh, ghosts could afford to be whimsical. What else were they supposed to do but be trapped? Gideon smiled, a little shrug accompanying it, "You don't need to explain yourself to me, miss," he assured, "I'll just be grateful all the same." Moving back to the jacket he'd laid aside, he slipped the cards into a pocket and folded the piece of clothing carefully, such that the deck was safe and cushioned in the center.
Now what, exactly? He could leave... but it'd be preferable to do that in the morning. Still, there wasn't much else to discover here, not without confronting the master of the house himself... and he'd prefer not to do that with any sort of hostility. Because he could only conjure at best a vague dislike for the fox at the moment, that meeting was best postponed. He'd also druther that meeting occur when he had something possibly... on his side, in terms of disabling the fox's demonic tendencies. Yes... the next time he came, it'd be with Eden in tow.
Drifting to the bed, holding the jacket like a stuffed toy, Gideon smiled and nodded at the ghost, "Your answer was most enlightening, and I release you from any binding - magical or of mere interest - I may hold over you," he said formally, then with a yawn, "Getting sleepy. Gonna go night night."

((lol yes, I did see the way he acted but does that REALLY need to be worthy of being threatened over? Granted I would of dumped him as a teacher by now and went in search of another but still, threatned? I wouldnt go that far. XD))
Hortencia smiled and nodded "of course, goodnight and sweet dreams sir" she said as she got up and walked over to the near by door and walked through it. She stood on the outside of it wondering if she should put the candle out but decided that the rat would do it himself if need be and started off towards the library to see her friend.
