Killed? That was horrible... She bit her lip, thoughts wandering. What if she ended up like that? She knew she couldn't live with herself if she ever hurt anyone... Wait, maybe that Zach person felt the same? It was a passing thought... She still wasn't sure, and her more childish mind simply dubbed the man dangerous and moved on. But it was a thought for later.
She looked at him, live food? Well.. Technically the stuff she was eating was live... But she didn't want anyone knowing about that. She practically beamed at his next statement... It had been exactly what she was wanting to hear. It didn't occur to her that he might not be able to back his claim up, or even the fact it might have been wrong of her to want him to sacrifice himself for her. For the moment it didn't matter... She was being childish about the whole thing anyways. "Thankyou..." She refrained from hugging him, though the want of a hug occured to her... The missing shirt acted as a forcefield.
She bit her lip, deciding on one more favor... Mentally noting to pay him back somehow later. She fidgeted, rubbing at her own arm. "Could I.. stay here? Only for tonight..." she hesitated a moment, then continued "If I am not being a problem... That is." Stayings the night seemed like a good idea at the time, forgetting the fact someone could notice and assume the more common reason for leaving a man's room in the morning.

"Any time," he yawned, waving away her thank you. That was what he was here for, right? Standing between fair maiden and certain death or something of the like. If he lost a few ribs in the process, then who cared? Better than rotting on an island without any legs, after all.
At her question, he quirked a brow, eyeing her curiously. The thought about reactions the following morning had occurred to him, but that meant he simply expected it had occurred to her as well and that it wouldn't bother her. Surprising, judging by the reaction just to him discovering her pregnancy, but maybe she was over it. Or something. Finally nodded, he gestured for her to make herself comfortable on the bed, then somewhat reluctantly climbed to his feet. "Y' welcome to, as long as it won't bother you. No problem whatsoever. Make y' self comfortable." Pacing over to the light switch, he rested one hand on it, glancing back to her and waiting for her go-ahead.

Sometime while Thom is occupied, a small brown-paper wrapped package is left on his doorstep.
A note is taped to the top:
Quote: As promised, I was able to manage to get a recording of the World Cup games. It was an exciting season, or so the football-afficianatos tell me. ~Dr. Duvert
In the box is a stack of burned DVDs in unmarked cases, save for numbers 1-5 to indicate the order.
However, when Thom does begin to watch them, on the very first game (and on the last, final match) At the very begining, the stadium holds a full minute of Silence - for the tragic death of six team members (whose names they call out, Thom's included) from Thom's team, as well as the deaths of a few more who were in the same bus (the manager, the driver, and a few others who traveled with and helped the team). Only a few survived the wreck, all of whom sustained injuries that at the very least will likely stop them from ever playing professional sports again.

Natsumi had moved on from the pregnancy thing.. He said he didn't think she was horrible, so there wasn't too much to worry about. It was easy to accept coming from him.. He had played a sport with her afterall, his views were obviously different from alot of those back home.
She followed his gesture, blinking at the bed... "Aa.. N-No I can.. sleep on the floor... I don't want to bother you..." that was what she had planned anyways, the idea of sleeping IN his bed had never even entered her mind. Not that it was him completely, she didn't want to intrude... She'd already woken him up and asked to stay there, actually taking his bed would be going too far, wouldn't it?

He blinked twice, then laughed, shaking his head in disbelief. "Natsumi, I'm insulted. Y' trust me with y' life, but y' don't trust me t' sleep next to you? I'll keep m' hands to m' self, promise." He grinned, still shaking his head in amusement, and gestured towards the bed with his free hand once more. "Relax. I insist. If anyone winds up on th' floor, it'll be me."

Insulted? She bit her lip as he spoke... well it was true, but that didn't keep it from being awkward. To be honest, she hadn't thought he would try to touch her... Only the old rule of not being able to sleep over with boys, let alone share beds with them was causing her to find it strange.
"No.. I mean..." she blushed, defeated in the moment. "Do not sleep on the floor. Please?" With that, and mentally telling herself she was an adult and could do whatever she pleased, she kicked off her sandals and scooched to the other side of the bed, getting herself comfortable and as close to the edge as she could so as to not take up too much space.

Aha, he won. Inwardly Thom gloated, but visably he merely smile, waiting until she had settled herself to flick off the light. After stumbling back through the darkness, he settled on the bed at her side, shifting once or twice to make himself comfortable before falling still with a sigh. He closed his eyes, murmured a 'good night', and hardly a moment later he was asleep, all but forgetting Natsumi was even there in favor of rest.

"Good night.." Natsumi echoed meekly. At the moment, she wasn't at all worried about him... She had no idea what she was worried about. Just the fact that he was closer than he ought to be and shirtless... Which made her heart rate rise ever so slightly. She was still young, it showed occassionally.. and now was one of those occassions.
However, dispite all the awkward feelings at the time there was also a bit of a comforting one. He had promised to protect her, and her child... Promised not to touch her. As though Thom was some sort of magical force feild, with him right there that meant Zach, or anyone else couldn't harm her. And with that thought, she relaxed enough to nod off to sleep.

Natsumi was naturally first to stirr. For most of the time since her transformation she'd been waking up easier, and now was no different. It seemed the sun was up, the birds were chirping, all the symptoms of a bright and early morning. She let out a loud yawn, rubbing at her eyes as she sat up. As she lowed her hands from her eyes one met something soft, causing her to jump in suprise, jerking her hand away from Thom's shoulder. She flinched, hoping she hadn't waken him in her forgetfulness. The memories of the night before came flooding back at the sight of Thom.. Zach, Nita, then embaressingly having to come ask for a place to spend the night.

Thom did not like mornings. He did not like wakening until he did so on his own free will, or his dream ended. Alarm clocks were pure evil, and sunlight in the eyes was not much better. But a light tap on the shoulder with nothing to reinforce it? It didn't phase him. He shifted only slighty with the brief touch, quickly resettling himself, mouth slightly ajar while he rested. At least he didn't snore.

Natsumi bit her lip as he stirred, watching him a moment, before letting out a breath she didn't know she'd been holding. Good, she hadn't woken him up... But now what? She slowly scooted herself out of the bed, pausing everytime he would stirr or shift, or if the movement made the bed bounce in the slightest. It wasn't the hardest feat... Something she had mastered slipping into her parent or brother's beds.
But once she was free, she was left standing there, not sure what to do. She tried not to inspect the room too much, being nosey was no good. But her eyes couldn't help but wander. She was wide awake now. She could try to leave... But that might come off as rude, plus the door would wake him. But if she stayed that seemed creepy, not to mention awkward for her.
After debating the options she found herself a seat, laying back with her eyes shut so she could ponder over various things about he Island without staring at Thom's belonging's.

An inspection of the room, really, would have produced nothing of any interest. Thom didn't seem to have even unpacked completely. Most of his belongings lay strewn about a slightly burnt looking suitcase. On top of the empty dresser lay a book and, surprisingly, a yo-yo, and large box in one corner held what soccer balls still remained of the lab's original gift. On the whole the room was rather dull.
After a brief wall, as if sensing that something was amiss, Thom too stirred and, somewhat reluctantly, awakened. He yawned and cracked an eye, staring absently at the spot on the bed where Natsumi had rested. And then it clicked that she was gone, and both eyes opened, blinking twice before he rolled onto his back to inspect the room. Catching sight of her in the chair, he again yawned and sat up, scratching a hand through his hair while trying to decide if she was awake or not. If she had slept there all night, by god...

Natsumi cracked an eye open as he stirred, breifly wondering how much time had passed when she had first gotten up. Thinking sometimes seemed to fluctuate time into a matter of seconds when it could have been hours, or vice versa.
Once he was up completely she let both eyes open, smiling as she piped cheerfully. "Good morning." For the moment, the fact she had slept in his bed wasn't too embaressing... He seemed more like a brother now, promising to protect her and then to sleep in his bed. It brought back old memories of when she was only five years old. Ofcourse her brother's bare chests had never made her blush... So maybe not exactly like them. "I hope I did not wake you..." she added as an after thought.

He actually jumped slightly at her far too chipper greeting, shooting her a look that plainly argued that mornings were for sleeping, not conversation. Finally, yawning a third time, he murmured a 'Good morning', stretching his arms out over his head in much the same manner as she had upon first awakening. "Y'didn't wake me. I think. You 'aven't slept in that chair all night, 'ave you?"

She wasn't suprised too much, not many shared her joy of the sunshining, bird singing mornings. She stood up off the chair, fussing over her hair to try and rid some of the bedhead. "That is good.." she smiled momentarily, before his next comment broke it. "Eh?" the way he worded it comfused her for a moment, before it seemed to click. "Aa, no, no." she shook her head, smiling again slowly edging her way towards the door. He was still tired, she wanted a shower. Leaving seemed reasonable. "I did not want the door to wake you... but I had already been up, so I sat in the chair." she nodded as she finished her explination. Which all made sense... Because.. well, it was all true. She learned long ago not to bother with lying anyways.
