I guess I am the odd man out... I have never read any of the Harry Potter books all the way through (though my sister owns all of them and has the new one on reserve!)... I started the first one and I could not get very far it lost my interest very quickly (I think I got to the chapter about unicorns)...

But resently I started to re-read a book I had read in sixth grade called "The Giver" I absolutely adored this story when I was a kid and now that I am reading it again some of the parts I didn't understand then make a lot more since!!!

The Giver was probably my favorite book when I read it. It's absolutely lovely. I also like the second book in the "series", called Gathering Blue. It's really, really good.

i love harry potter. i'm super anxious for the later books, but it seems like she's under so much pressure right now, it's like she feels like each book has to be 30% longer than the last. by the time he graduates, we'll be reading books the size of the dictionary. i'm definitely disappointed but almost positive that they won't be making movies of all the books, either.

Nooo don't say that! I'm sure you're right but I don't want you to be!! xd The new trailer for the Goblet of Fire comming to theaters in November looks soooo good! I LOVE what the new director is doing with the movies, as the guy who made the first two was just a prat in comparism. I'm going to go before work tomorrow to FINALLY pre-order myself a copy of Half-Blood Prince, and I've booked the 16th off, so I'll go get it first thing and then spend the day reading heart

I love all the Harry Potter books, Frank Herbert's Dune series (I even like the prequels his son wrote- but not as much as the original series), anything by Clive Barker, just about anything in the steampunk genre, Sherlock Holmes stories make me fangirl, and anything in the Japanese horror vein perks my interest. heart

I am.. also.. a big fan of Harry Potter! But that is not my only written love.

Other favorite books: anything by Louise Erdrick, Dune series of books, Woman Warrior, um.. The Alchemist.

Right now I'm swamped with text books so not much time for literature.

Oh! And the Shipping News (also a great movie!)

Peri.
