WHY DOES EVERYONE HATE NAK?! gonk

Anyway...Do you really blame him for turning out the way he did? Nak is of mixed blood...half Hin, half Qu-Dong. So he was reviled because of that since young age. He passed out during the coming-of-age ceremony in his village and was mocked. His mother was raped in front of him and he ended up killing her in an overflow of power. He was captured and became the sex toy for the emperor for 11 years. In an effort to draw out Nakago''s power, the emperor killed the only other person who ever cared about Nak right in front of him. Nakago ended up killing his own father without even knowing it until it was too late. Tomo mocked him by showing illusions from his past.

Not exactly happy now, is it?

Yeah, yeah, I know there are going to be people who say "But he could have been a better person! He just had to find the strength to keep going!" Well, he did. He found revenge. Revenge was what kept him going all those years when he wanted to kill himself. That and the little whispering thought in his head that told him "You die and you go and face your mother. She hates you. You killed her."

But I can''t change everyone''s opinions. I still love Nak though. 3nodding

There have been a few people who posted early in the thread saying they liked Nakago. But that was a really good way to justify him Sparrow 3nodding I felt sorry for him before but you talked about even more stuff than I already knew.

Yeah, it just bugs me when everyone (ok, a lot of people) talk about how they hate Nakago. I can see why, so I can''t be too angry with them. But most people don''t know what happened to him before (Because the darn novel hasn''t come out in English, which it should) and what causes him to act like he does. And frankly, he hasn''t known any kindness, so I don''t think he knows how to give it sincerely.

I hate erika so much, like Nightintend said she was weak... a.s.o. I just hated her when she tried to get between koki and tanpopo... That's not fair, and she' uses dirty tricks, being weak and trying to get attention... I cannot really say how much i hate her, cuz i just hate her soooo much, but not so much that i could even like her, im so disgusted when she appeares somewhere.... aaaaaaaaargh ^^ Now, i've said it smile 4laugh

My favorite Villian is Suboshi and my least favorite villian is Suboshi sweatdrop weird? well i like suboshi becuase he is as cute as amiboshi. i dislike suboshi becuase he harmed amiboshi and tamahome's family crying

I'll say this for Yuu Watase: she's got a way of bringing the love out of everyone for most of her characters, villains included. Near the end of #13 of Fushigi Yugi, we see another side of Nakago, and in #13 of CERES: Celestial Legend, we see all the sides of Mikagi.

However, (just so you know) I liked these characters even before I found out about their tragic histories.

My hat is off to you, Sparrow... were I wearing a hat. Another person who knows about what happened before. I will admit, before I finished the series, I did seriously dislike Nakago. He seemed so cruel, so vicious. But, after reading about his history, learning more about him... I don't hate him anymore. I pity him.

Everything that has happened to him is sad. But I do have to agree... he did find a way to keep going. Taking revenge on the world that screwed up his life. Sounds like a good enough reason to me.

Well, since this is a thread dedicated to villians we hate... I suppose if I had to name one, I would have to say Miboshi. I didn't understand him. He was... odd, I suppose is the best word. I can't really describe it better than that.
