How'd I find Wicca and my path?
Well, I grew up in an athiest/pagan household so I was already pre-influenced by it. When I was around eleven though I noticed things, such as I was able to tell what others were feeling (empathy) and other things (too long of a story, so many signs that I could not ignore). I started wearing a pentagram because I felt extremely drawn to it and knew what the points meant before any research. About six months passed and I found some books on religion. Instantly I started researching them all, from Wicca to Christianity to Arab religions. However Wicca stuck with me the most so I started practicing that faith.
About six months ago I was doing extensive research into the different paths found in Wicca and I came across a Kemetic website. I clicked on it and found a subform called 'Tamera' and instantly I knew. I asked my Gods and Goddesses to show me a visual sign if this is the path they have lead me too and as I was going to gather some stuff for a ritual I found incense packets, one for each of my Gods (Thoth and Ra) and Goddesses (Tefnut and Ma'at). I knew that this was my calling and I can feel it in my heart everyday.

I've just known certain things, or felt a pull toward certain things for as long as I can remember. They very quickly lead me to Wicca. I've been reading off and on for more than ten years (I'm only 20). It never felt like the right time until quite recently. For me it just happened. No one had to show me, no one had to tell me anything.
Though my feathers were orginially a little ruffled by the fact that so many people got into Wicca from a very fictionalized series (which I have read and LOVED!!! but that came as a result of my interest in Wicca not the source of it). But then I thought about it and I realized that any way is a good way. If that's the way you're meant to find it, then it's as good as any other.

It's a funny story. My mom (christian) suggested I could barrow my Aunts (christian) Harry Potter books. My dad (christian) was aganist it but I did anyway. Then around August I decided I wanted to be Hermione for Halloween and I bought a wand advertised as real off the internet and I saw the word "wicca" in relation to "witch" so I looked around online for awhile and then decided to buy some books. My parents still don't know and I'm going to keep it that way. They would go crazy. But, yea, tghat's my story. Weird, funny.

JVCA I know that there are those among us who were born into Wicca -grins at Kari-, but for those who weren't, how did you get into it/ find out about it/ etc.? I'm curious. sweatdrop I personally first heard of Wicca through Cate Tiernan's books... In short, it a series about the main character Morgan's discovery of Wicca, and how it changes her life- finding out she's adopted, and really a bloodwitch, in a house of strict catholics... How did you come to Wicca? -EEEEE! Nuzzles cat who has climbed onto lap- I read the Sweep series and I loved it. smile Well for me I had a friend who I found out was Wiccan and her parents owned a wiccan shop . Well I got to go to ita nd hang out with her and I got to learn more about it. I got so interested in Wicca I began to read my 1st book on it which was The Spiral Dance by Starhawk. (Best book out there i have to say..) after that I dedicated my life to my new spirituality. Sad to say tho i am no longer friends with that girl for basically she made a new best friend and never got back in contact with me or anything sad .

Well let's see...I think I've always been drawn to Wicca but I never really knew it. When I was little I would always pretend I was a witch and casting 'spells' and mixing 'potions.' My parents just thought it play and never took it seriously.
Then I went to a Catholic school and I knew that it wasn't the religion for me. I never got into it and could never listen to everything that the priest would say. Plus I had different beliefs from what they taught, all of which I now know correspond with Wicca.
For the past few years, I've been, I guess what you'd call, 'religionless' because I could never find one that fit all of my beliefs. But then when I had a sleepover with my friend and she showed me her candles and herbs (I don't think she's Wiccan, though it seems like she practices it), I got interested and did some research on candles and their meanings. Then I saw Wicca and it caught my eye. Even though it was only a few days ago, I feel extremely drawn to the religion. I still haven't told my parents though because I'm not quite sure what their beliefs are and if they would support mine. sweatdrop
I think I've always known about Wicca subconsciously, though, because when I look back, it seems like I've known about it my whole life even though I had just officially discovered it a few days ago. Right now I'm currently in the process of studying the religion and hoping to be considered Wiccan very very soon. whee
Haha well there's basically my life story, as well as how I discovered Wicca. 4laugh

Everyone else is so cool....Well....My Mom had a little stint with it when I was about eight, and all the books were still around when I was about twelve. I went through a pretty tough time when my grandfather died, and I had no real belief, I clawed through mountains of information and finally resaulted with Wicca. I met some friends, and boyfriends, who were into it, and they helped me get farther and farther into it. It's me now, my whole life.

o.0 I just noticed that I must not have posted my story here. I meant to. Well, here it is.
My entire immediate family is Pagan/Wiccan. I was never really incredibly into it. I went along with it, because I enjoyed the Sabbats, but I never really reserched it alot. Now and then I'd glance at the books on the shelf and a half dedicated to religion and mythology, but I never really thought about reading them. I don't think I even touched them. Anyway, I don't know why, but one day I reached for that shelf and grabbed The Spiral Dance by Starhawk. I went out on the deck and started reading it. My dad saw me...and he freaked. In a good way. He was like, "OMG I read that book when I was first getting into it yay so happy *tears of joy*". So yeah. I'm better off regarding the tolerance of my family, I guess. I haven't told any of my extended family yet. I have so much. The first people I'll tell will probably be my two aunts though. I don't know what their religions are, frankly. One of them (Joy) has dreams (You: So what?). Well, she's had some straaange experiences in her dreams, and she's had dreams that she shared with other people. Joy is veeeery obsessed with dreams. And she's able to meditate, something that's hard for me. The other (Carolyn) was the person Joy shared her first shared dream with. She also used to talk to her old boyfriend in her dreams. However, she says she doesn't believe in studd liuke shared dreams. sweatdrop So I think I'll tell Joy first. Yeah...well. Rambling.

Well it was when I was about 13 I think. I'd been watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer a lot and my fave character was Willow. I got interested in the references to wicca and magic, but as I was a Christian at the time I wasn't sure that I should read about it, but then for my birthday my best friend gave me a book on witchcraft and magic and it was really interesting so I decided to become Wiccan instead. I went back to Christianity a few years later, but about a year after that I become Wiccan yet again and have been that way every since whee

I've been in Wiccan since I was twelve, practicing what I could from websites without my family knowing. The only way I had heard about it was I ended up spelling a word (willclan or something like that) wrong in my search engine and a site popped up that looked interesting....so yeah I came into this by complete accident and have kept going since. My family still doesn't know though, but that's only because I was and am old enough to make my decisions myself.

I was always into magic, and never really believed in God. A friend of mine decided to "become" Wiccan, which prolly didn't work out. So I started to do online research. I became enthralled and totally got into it. I had an epiphany and discovered that true Wicca wasn't really for me. I then decided to make my own religion based on things I ACTUALLY believe, which happens to involve SOME parts of Wicca.
(I promise, I'm not randomly taking parts of other religions and mashing them together. I just sat myself down and asked, what do I REALLY believe in, and some of that corresponded with Wiccan... stuff.)
