Next year I'll be in mallet percussion. All the other drummers next year will be boys. The only girl is graduating. I think I'll be okay. I'm the only bells player anyway, after my boyfriend graduates.

i am the only girl tuba in symphonic band and only 1 of 4 girls in our jazz band of 20 crying why! WHY!

I'm the only girl drummer in my section but their are only 4 of us so its not really saying anything. Another girl was in the percusion section earlyer this year but schedual conflicts took her out of band. crying

In our trumpet section there are 9 trumpets and only 2 girls and all the rest are guys. But you really cant count the other girl cause she is never there leaving me to be the only girl trumpet player 90% of the time. but then it gets kinda weird when we do concert cause our stage is kinda small so our section ends up being kinda cramped. lol

percusion= guys
trumpet= 1/6 girls (me!!)
sax=1/2 guys
bass= guys, but one girl, and another does it half the time
flutes= girls
clarinet=4/6=girls
mostly guys, but only bearly, and some skip- why i dont kno rolleyes - so its pretty even.

Well, not me personally, but my friend Abby is a sousaphone. 3nodding And my friend Evan is a clarinet.. And also, a senior that graduated this year, Philip, was a flutest. xd

we've got 1 girl in trumpet section. and she's blonde. playing trumpet for 3 years and she didn't know what embrouchure (sp?) was. we make fun of her.

Now I'm the only girl in the trumpet section. There used to be two, until the end of last year when she quit. I wasn't friends with her anyway.
Now I am friends with most of the boys in my section anyways. It is basically 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th chair as a group of friends. It is always fun.
Some of the people in other sections are mean to me though. As section leader I have to site next to this one trombone played who has a really sick mind. He never shuts up and says things that could get him suspended for at least 5 days and, as the vice principle says, make the school call the police on him. That is really the only bad thing, other than scaring some eighth grade boys out of Symphony by beating them for first chair as a seventh grade girl. That is fun though.

for most of this year and all of last year there were two girls in our bass section, and I was third chair,
last year there were 6 bassists including one from symphony, and the other girl was the section leader, she was also in jazz 1 while I was in Jazz2, there were 2 seniors that graduated
this year at the end of first semester she quit and so I was the only girl
next year I think I will be the only veteran because one guy quit and the other 2 are quitting next year because of schedual conflicts, although I think another girl is playing bass next year biggrin
