"Leave my ship and your equipment. Take your men and go."

The AI orders as she opens the door.

He stared at the bridge a moment longer, pausing upon hearing the term 'equipment' used, before simply casting his thoughts aside and walking from the bridge, his escorts handing him his helmet back as he walked around them without a word, and decided he wouldn't need his helmet until they were back at the exit/entrance.

"Rose. Seal off the bridge. Wait till they are gone, then seal up and prepare for departure. Lets give these guys a little spin."

A grin that was cold grew upon his face as he sat down.

Even as he was walking away from the bridge, he randomly thought up strategies for attacks against this vessel, knowing his teams were possibly trying to get past this ship's AI in order to get some specifics on its weaponry, but he also knew this would be pointless.

Upon getting back to the open area where his team had been patiently waiting, he ordered them all to pack everything up and get ready to leave now. He casually sealed his helmet once more over his head before they once again went EVA as they headed out once more towards their Pelican, taking a moment to look out and spot their battle group not far off.

Several small ships raced from the Titan to the two Frigates in order to resupply both of them, and other Longswords came back from another region of space, towing other inactive C709's behind them with pilots still inside.

Vincent stared at this sight blankly for a moment, before being last to climb into his Pelican, knowing the other team was already leaving as the hatch of his way back sealed tightly and the ship sped off and away from the hull of the Pirate ship, heading back towards his own.

"They are gone."

"Did you leave them a little suprise in their equipement?"

"Of course."

"Good. Lets give them a spin shall we?"

The six gunners and other such crew strapped themselves in, while Rasa powerd up the gravity drives. He tested it out by creating a simultanious pulse on all sides of the ship, some shrapnel changing direction and making some of the Pelican and Longswords jerk towards the Rose.

With that test done, the Rose sped forwards, it's top most hull missing the port wingtip of the Pelican that their guest had ridden in. As she sped past, the captain lit off a gravety well that made her nose rise and speed up, while having several, interesting effects.

Since the Rose was a great deal heavier then the Pelicans, her gravity well was much bigger, not to mention the one she just created. So, the effect on the Pelican was to spin it completly out of control as the Rose manuvered around it.

"Ha! Take that you insolent dog!"

The Captain, who had the common sense to remember safety standards, was holding onto the railings above him like everyone should when standing the back of a Pelican when it began to spin out of control. The pilot cursed at the sudden movement and furiously tried to stabalize their course, while almost everyone in the aft compartment were slammed into the walls of the Pelican, cursing at the invisible source of their spinning. Vincent, who wasn't truly surprised by this form of a childish prank, simply held onto the Pelican's steel railings above him, failing to join in on the rantings of his ODST's.

((What? He could have blown you out of the sky yeh know.))

Once free of the careening Pelican, the ships main star drive activated, electric blue lines growing from the back of the ship towards her twin prows, a massive field growing around her. Then, she jumps, leaving behind a single point where all the loose junk and powerless material congregate. Even the frigates are effected, though not much due to their mass and inertia.

((Yet I still do not care.))

The pilot managed to correct their course after a minute of spinning randomly and annoyingly, and quickly sped off towards the Titan, nervously looking around for the ship that caused it, rather than looking at the radar and acknowledging that it was gone as the two Pelicans returned to their ship.

Far from the battle field, about 17 AUs away, the Rose stops and joins up with the rest of the fleet of Free Lancers, or Pirates, whichever term you perfer.

"Rasa to home base. Come in."

"We're reading you. Go ahead."

"Well, it looks as if you were right. That captains a real Horses a**."

"Whattid I tell you?"

"Yeah, yeah. I know. He took a chunk out of my hind end. THink you can replace the armor?"

"Sure, Come on in."

The entire fleet was made from scraps of covenant and human ships, all welded together to make functional, if butt ugly vessals of war. The second largest, which was the mian hangor ship, allowed for the Rose to come in softly for a landing.

After docking once more and taking off the ODST outfit he had 'borrowed', he headed back up to his bridge without any new thoughts on the Pirate's ship. He had already ordered the squads that went with him to get some rest, since they won't be needed unless the people on the surface of Theta Halo desperately request assistance.

He sighed contently as he once again stepped onto his bridge, and gladly took his seat and began checking the reports on resupplying both Frigates and the Titan with the spare Archer Missiles they brought along just in case they needed the extra ammunition. Seeing as how they fired so few MAC rounds, and how they were too large to truly move, they weren't going to ship any MAC rounds out to the two smaller vessels.

They had already managed to gather all of the deactivated Longswords and safely returned all of the pilots as well, meaning they hadn't lost too many people during that last battle, and not much damage was incurred. All in all, the results weren't as bad as he had predicted, and they still had some of their Shiva nucler-tipped missiles.

"All right, when our ships have been restocked and everything is secured, let's head straight back to the Armengald and form the usual perimeter around Theta Halo. Refuel every Longsword that needs it and let our pilots get as much rest as they can before heading back out." With a quiet yawn, he managed to send these commands over a newly made COM channel over to the Ingraham, Shinobi, and the Armengald just to be safe.

"Rose. Unless further ordered, activate the scrambler virus in three hours. We'll keep a safe look out for their reactions. Also, if anything should happen, say they are under attack from covenant, broadcast the counter signal to the virus imediatly. We may be pirates, but we still have our sence of honor."

"Aye captain."

Was all she said as she did what he bid her to do.
PostPosted: Fri May 26, 2006 4:47 pm

"Can we at least get an estimation of how many are still alive down there?" The Lieutenant he was addressing, Lt. Hall, shoke her head after looking over some magnified images of Theta Halo's surface and listening in over the ship-to-ground COM system. "No sir, there's just too much traffic over their COM to get a clear reading of anything. We know they're there, but we can't tell much about their status."

Vincent managed to pace back and forth slowly and casually as he thought this over, considering the fact that the Flood were only making the situation even more hectic now as they were in a safe orbit near Theta Halo. He'd already been able to reorganize the usual C709 squadrons of four to five to patrol almost every possible attack vector that a Covenant ship could use to attack them as he also watched over any repairs needed still on the Armengald.

"Could we possibly send a message through the long-range communications system?" The Captain didn't both looking up from the floor as he continued pacing, so he didn't see the Lieutenant shake her head once more. "No sir, there's too much interference from Theta Halo itself and some communications system that seems to be of Covenant origin."

Vincent sighed quietly as he stopped and turned to face the large monitor, which showed the actions of the other ships in his command and their operations at the moment. "And what of that other ship? Did you track the direction it was heading?" Another bridge crew member, Lieutenant Mitscher, swivled around in his seat in order to face his Captain. "Yes sir, but it wasn't heading into any area that we've been to as of yet."

"Then it's possible we can follow them if we can spare the forces..." He didn't feel any need to follow the Pirates, but decided he'd tell his crew their options just to set them at ease. "Let's focus on contacting our ground forces. If that becomes impossible, I want another platoon geared up and ready to be sent down in order to either assist or evacuate, in which case we will simply blow this ring back to hell where it belongs."

-Gai Zen Rune to Rasa. Come in Rasa.-

Gai had been trying to contact the Rose for a while now, when the other end picked up.

-Yes?-

-I have been monitering the situation here. It would seem as though your entry had stired up the hornets nest for a while, then when you left everything went back to normal.-

-Any casualties?-

-Only one. His craft flew into the hull of the Titan when the EMP went off.-

-Damn. I was hoping not to kill anyone. Oh well. Couldn't be avoided.-

Vincent couldn't help but think about their recent battle, since thinking up past actions and reactions was what he always did in his free time, and began thinking of how he could have done things differently. Approaching the same situation without being hostile didn't cross his mind, however, as he thought up one strategy after another.

As he did think about the battle, however, a thought crossed through his list of ideas as he quickly went through a brief summary of their current armaments on the Titan, and found what he was looking for. He noted that they had several nuclear weapons on board, but was most interested in their other Shiva-tipped nuclear missile, which was still with their only remote-piloted Longsword.

Knowing this, he now began thinking about how he could have used it in the battle, and how he could possibly use it to destroy Theta Halo. While he let his mind and imagination wonder, he also thought about where their Pirate ship had gone off to, and began thinking of what kind of support they could have with them out in space.

His thoughts on this were lost as the portable COM system he had failed to remove noisely rang in his ear, effectively bringing him back to reality and removing it, before looking back at their list of weapons with some interest.

-Rasa. You should know not to mess with these guys. They can hold their own in battle...-

-You mean like how I ran circles around them?-

-...I mean how they can annihilate a covenant cruiser with four times as much firepower and shielding as you.-

-Oh. That.-
