"Sure," Aislinn said, already starting out, "That's probably our best bet in a situation like this." Kenaz followed wordlessly, carefully cradling the unconscious Kaede in his powerfully muscled arms.

Osyth hurried after them, her face looking sick with apprehension. She hadn't been in a city since she'd been chased from her village when she was nine; six years. She wasn't certain she would be accepted, but she knew she had to be brave and ignore adversity. Right now, their primary concern was to help Kaede.

Despite her gruff, callussed, and cold exterir, the half-Tanuli girl really did care about people; she just felt too insecure to form any emotional attatchements. It was against her better judgement that she'd made friends with Aislinn and Kenaz; she'd made it clear to them that she wasn't interested (despite the fact that she was), but they'd been very persistent. She'd found herself travelling with them anyways.

((Oh wow... If I ever forget about this guild for so long again, give me a good strong PM poke, okay? It's jsut, I usually have to wait awhile for posts in this one, so I don't check it every day and just sort of flaot off.))

Seeing the expression on Osyth's face-- since he had fallen in beside her, with Aislinn and Kenaz in the frotn, the sorceror put a hand on the girl's shoulder and gave her a warm smile. He didn't want to embarass her by telling her not to worry, so that gesture was all he put in. Really, it was all he could do.

It was probably a good idea for him to have gone back to the guild, anyways; he had best tell his proffessors that he wouldn't be coming in for a while, that he was going off adventuring. To hone his skills, they would buy into that readily. Anytime a sorceror left the guild to go practice, they were welcomed back later. So, he wasn't too-too worried.

{{Whoo! And this is the part where I apologise for being away for a week and explain why: Friday, Saturday and Sunday I had no PC access (I was camping ^^), Monday I didn't get on 'cause I was reading (Bel/Mal ROCKS!), Tuesday and Wednesday, I wasn't allowed to be on the computer if I wasn't doing my homework, and Thursday I was reading again, and then went to my brother's soccer paractice and his and my sister's piano recital. I'm back now! ^^;;;}}

Osyth glaced over at Zayne, her eyes wordlessly thanking him for his comfort. They hurried along and were soon in the city. Osyth ignored the stares and mutterings that seemed to follow her everywhere, keeping close to Aislinn and Kenaz. Aislinn's eyes were hard, and Kenaz was wary, still protectively cradling Kaede.

{{A friend of mine should be coming along soon, so we'll wait for her before going to the guild. I think she was going to meet us somewhere in the city.}}

((Whoo!! Sounds like you had fun. Thank heavens school is over now though, hm?))

Zayne, for his part, actually noticed the glances much of the time. And they bothered him, quite a bit. His eyes darkened slightly, and he looked down at the cobblestone road. The sorceror had been unaware of them before, simply because he was never in a position to be given the once over before. Now, he was understanding exactly why the three didn't want to go into the town. Biting his lip, the he kept up to the other four, still looking down.

Hands shaking, he lowered the blade to his chest, lightly scraping the tanned bare skin. He carved a line about an inch or two long, holding in the screams that have been dying to be let out for so long.

A deep line of blood made its way down his torso, as he cut again, this time across his abdomen. Scars, small but deep, were slashed all across his upper area, and showed no sign of mercy. The short but effective blade he used was made of silver, not a common material for dagger making. The hilt, however, was made of pure gold, and strange symbols were etched all around the half-foot long handle.

Blade tarnished with his blood, down it came again, this time striking straight and true, peircing his skin at his solar plexus. The hilt touched his chest now, blade all the way in. Letting out a blood-curdling shout, arms laid out to the side, head turned away, Masato remained motionless.

{{Well. Talk about morbid. xP }}

Osyth hread the shout and jumped, startled. "Aislinn, Kenaz, did you hear that?"

Kenaz shrugged. Aislinn shook her head. Although her hearing was extraordinay, and his only slightly less so, Osyth's was better, as was her sense of smell. She listened closely, but didn't hear it again. "I'm going!" She yelled, heading in the direction of the sound. Aislinn, with a muttered curse, started after her.

"Zayne, take Kenaz and Kaede to the guild. We'll catch up!" Then she was gone.

Osyth followed her memory of the sound, her sense of direction unerring. She began to smell blood. Ignoring the strange and fear-filled looks she recieved, she kept going until the smell was overpowering.

"Oh, man," Aislinn muttered as she caught the scent, a few minutes after Osyth. The continued running, then suddenly Osyth stopped. She looked down a dark alley, and carefully crept in, her knife finding its way into her hand. "Hello?" she called, spotting the shape of a person on the ground. She walked over to him. His breathing was ragged and faint; the cause, a dagger thrust into his solar plexus. She moved him cautiously and pulled it out slowly and delicately.

"Aislinn, get in her. I need your herbs."

|| You think that's morbid? eek You should see my drawings... show you them tomorrow. And thanks for the solar plexus correction. I will change that momentarily. cool ||

"Nooo..." came Masato's faint and forced voice. "Leave me alone, let me d-die here..." Sweat plastered his purplish-black hair to his face, Masato raised a shaking hand and gripped Osyth's wrist as firmly as he could in his state. "Go away." he said forcefully. "Leave me here... to die."

Osyth stared at him. After her talk with Aislinn yesterday, she had begun to percieve things differently-- just a bit-- and decided, to her surprise, that she wan't going to obey. "No." She removed his hand from her wrist, and picked him up, straining. "Aislinn, he wanted to kill himself."

"And you're not letting him?" Aislinn sounded faintly shocked.

"No." Osyth narrowed her eyes. "Can you carry him? He's a bit much for me." She handed the man to her friend, who was both taller and stronger, and began hunting through Aislinn's bag, while the green-clad girl sat and cradled him in her arms.

"I'll need the mixture from the blue silk bag," she said, attempting to stem the flow of blood. "And bandages."

Nodding, Zayne took the lead and lead Kenaz off towards one of the larger, turretted buildings of the quarters. With just the two of them, they were getting less stares, but the sorceror's cheeks were still hot from before. His pale bangs covered that fairly well though, simply because they always seemed to fall onto his cheeks.

"We're almsot there. I'll get someone to come and check her out once we arrive..."

Turning and walking backwards for a moment, he lkooked Kaede over, noting that her condition was stable. She didn't seem to be getting any worse, though nor was she getting any better.

"What do you think Osyth heard?"
PostPosted: Sun Jun 26, 2005 5:37 am

"I don't know," Kenaz replied, "With Osyth, one can never tell. She has better hearing than Aislinn and I." Carefully, he shifted Kaede's form to examine her face. She was flushed, and he could feel the heat coming off of her cheeks. "Come on," he said, speeding up a bit, "We'd better get her inside."

"Leave me here," Masato demanded, a little harsher this time. He painfully frowned. "This isn't the first time t-this has h-happened," he stuttered. Taking ragged deep breaths, he tried shoving himself off of Aislinn, and retrieve the dagger that had been removed from his solar plexus.

Nodding, ZAyne sped up accordingly. The looming building in the near-distance approached quicker than before, unitl the three were at the gates. Giving an invisable bell a sharp tug-- for, it was the kind one had to know of to be aware of the location-- the dark gate swung open.

Granted, it looked dismal from the outside. On the inside, however, was a wash of vibrant colours, thus proving the theories about the eccentricities of sorcerors. They were indeed attracted to vibrant colours, and a nubmer of the activities going on within the guild proved that many sorcerors did lose slip ogg the brink of reality. However, that was unimportant. Giving treatment to Kaede was. Leading Kenaz up a staircase towards th hospital wing, the young man looked back every so often to make sure he hadn't lost the other man.

((I'm back from camp! did you all miss me? OF COURSE YOU DID! ^.^ yay for food poisoning!))

Kaede stirred slightly. Her eyes were still closed but she was starting to regain consciousness. She could hear catches of noise and her mouth was very dry. She didn't feel as hot any more. She turned her face into a soft pillow as she tried to open her eyes. She blinked, confused. She had no idea where she was. The lights from the guild's hospital wing stung her eyes and she let out a small whimper.

"What happened...?" She mumbled. Her hands automatically went up to sheild her eyes. She really had no idea about anything at the moment.

[EDIT: so i didn't know i was waking up in a bed...i changed it its ok]
