I don't believe in soul mates only being lovers, I think that just about every real friend someone has or has had was meant to be, there was something that person was meant to teach you, whether about yourself or the world. But those soul mates come and go, just like they should, they show you something that sticks with you and helps you grow to be who you are and then their job is done and they leave your life making room for the next one. Just as you probably taught them something.
I know that I REALLY love the guy I am with, but I wouldn't say our love was meant to be forever. Who knows whats going to happen in five years, our personalities may develop in such a way through jobs and other friends and experiences that we just aren't compatible anymore, you never know and its hard to believe that you are only meant to be with one single person, that limits your ability to grow both emotionally and spiritually. Thats my opinion at least, I just think people are to fast to fall in love and assume its going to last forever. Especially since we are forever growing and changing. It just sets yourself up for heart break.

I completely believe in soul mates. I'm with my mate now and we've never een happier. We;ve done past life regressions and apparently we've been together since the 1300's (although one of us always ends up dying young). I suppose thats one reason we don't fight....cause we've fought about it all before haha! (joke!)

I have a strong suspicion that my soul mate is not present on earth. (I swear I’m not being pessimistic, I just don’t think he or she is here) Anyways. What is a soul mate and does everyone have one?

Soulmate's: I see them as any relationship you are happy with and wouldnt give up for anything, in my case that would be my best friend and my Boyfriend I love them both in different way's but I do love them both non-the-less. There the soul's that bind together in harmony.
I dont know about the whole there's one for every one, if there was then no one would die alone besides widdowers because I believe that if there really is someone for everyone then we would be destand to find them one day, but that cant be so since people do die alone... but I guess it is a possiblity because you fall in love at one point in your life just it might not work out, so really, I dont think there is a right or wrong answer I think what the person believe's has a possitive/negative or no affect it all depens on life's choice's.
I think I said a few thing's there that relate and I'm not sure what I believe but I do believe in soul mate's just dont know if everyone's going to find there's. But I'm sure we find one soul mate in our live's, like a close friend or even love... I dont know but I think I'm done now mrgreen

Is Muirin Beatha Dan actual, universal name for the concept of soulmates, or just something thrown out by the Sweeps series?

My view is a combination of many and also slightly different.
I believe in soulmates, yes, but I also agree with the person who stated that she didn't like the sound of "soulmate" because it sounds as if a person is incomplete without them. I think people can be really happy by themselves, it all depends on the person, you know?
However, I think you can have more than one soulmate. After all, people are constantly undergoing changes, so we can't expect to love the same person forever, but I do believe there are some happily-ever-after cases.
I have a boyfriend that I have been with for quite some time, and we are happy. Of course there are difficult times where we are stretched to our limits, but we get through it, like any good relationship. I would never even think about leaving him.
But, there are so many billions of people in this world. Who's to say there isn't a person living over in England, or Brazil, or Australia (etc) that could love me just the same? That I would be just as "compatible" with? You just never know.

I think that I have met my soul mate, but I can't really be sire. I thought that this one dude that I went out with was my soul mate, but he suddenly broke up with me and said that it was because he said that he needed to do better with his grades. He also said that when he got better grades, me and him could possibly resume going out. Now, thanks to a near-death experience that he experienced in the company of one of his friends, he said he was going to ask out another girl.
In a nutshell, I believe in soul mates, but I have yet to find/realize who it is. sweatdrop

Soulmates, huh?
I believe that some people have a greater affinity with certain others, but I don't think souls have "mates" like mittens do. They are like flowers, each similar and different in some ways, and each is beautiful.
But...I don't think I have much of a say here. I am Love's.
Love and Vale, -LD

Looks like I haven't posted here. Yay! xDD
Anyways, I don't believe in soulmates. I barely believe in love. And I was gonna write out my entire belief-y-thing, but I figured I'd look like a cynical, single b***h.
Which is entirely true, but still. whee
