Ack. That's my first thought, just ack.

Secondly: Shadow is John McLaine.

Thirdly, that Shadow's been listening to Bad to the Bone, Paranoid, Radar Love and Born to be Wild far too much and needs to get out a bit more.

And fourthly, Sonic finally ran so fast he couldn't see where he was going and must have hit a wall face first.

I'm almost tempted to cancel my preorder - but then I'd always end up wondering whether the game was in fact any good. Guess I'll give it a go, see how far I can get just by having Shad homing attack villains as God intended.

I mean, I'm a Shadow fan, personally - at least as his SA2 / Heroes persona. I think he appeals to me because he's intriguing.

With Sonic, as he himself even tells us in SA2, "what you see is what you get". He's adventure-loving, fun-loving, laid-back and he doesn't worry too much about the future. We don't know an awful lot about his back story, but there's been no hint I've noticed that it could be particularly interesting.

On the other hand, Shadow is quiet, grumpy, vaguely menacing. We know very little about him and have been teased with short flashbacks about his past. He seems to have had some tough times. Yeah, he's angst incarnate, but I can't entirely blame him. Basically, he's the tall dark stranger, for want of a better cliche smile

I want to know more about him, hence (as I think has already been mentioned above), this game will probably sell well, just so we can find out what's up with him. Then again, if Sega's going to give us loads of different endings depending on the choices we make, darned if we can believe any of the back stories sad

So, in conclusion: love Shadow; uncertain of this game (to say the least); but it's not gonna stop me having a very expensive November - what with this, Harry Potter 4, Knight Rider, DuckTales & Chip 'n' Dale boxsets, I'm going to be broke smile

Well, while the trailer could've used a bit more footage of actual gameplay, at the very least the cutscenes look impressive (and hopefully lacking the bizarre side-of-the-face talking of Heroes : p).

Still keeping my faith up that it'll be a decent game (albeit a total offroad path of the Sonic series) with a mostly solo adventure (saw a scene in another trailer of Sonic following Shadow).

....Now, if I could only get SOUND on my computer, I'd be able to hear the music that I've been dying to hear....

Judging by Shadow's attempt at an enraged sneer and Sonic's attempt at whupped, I wouldn't hold out much hope on that last point.

There's a video online somewhere of that entire level, where Sonic's wandered over to give Shadow a helping paw. I think it's in this thread somewhere, but don't quote me on that.

Official site for the game up, as well as the rating revealed (I'm actually a bit surprised it didn't get a T, instead getting the new "E-10+" rating).

The Black Arms have some pretty sweet designs to them; reminds me alot of the enemies of PSO (guessing same designer or something).

And btw, does the thought of Shadow driving an SUV seem hilarious to anyone else? ("Curse this wretched machine and it's gas-guzzling tendencies!!")

Yeah. For those who don't know Japanese, I'll kinda translate. The men you see with Shadow are from m-flo; m-flo is "collaborating" with Shadow The Hedgehog to release a single called "TRIPOD BABY (SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG MIX)". There will also be a pv (promotional video) for it as well, in which m-flo will style their hair like Shadow's. The pv and Shadow's new commercial will be uploaded to Sonic Channel in the middle of November.

As for what I have to say. . . Erm, I just heard Tripod Baby; and I don't see how this is going to work; unless they do some heavy lyric editting.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Man, that photo had me laughing out loud here (hard to tell whether this beats that Sonic one where he's with the ladies...).

Anyway, can't wait to hear that group's work in the game...heck, if they're as good as Crush 40, this'll be one soundtrack I'll be searching high and low for.

That's what I was thinking too when I first saw those pictures. Though it looked like in one of the pictures Shadow wanted to blow one of the guys' brains out.

These guys are talented, like I said before though, I don't see how Tripod Baby and Shadow are going to mix. Mmm, the music is wonderful though from the American Shadow site. I'm defiantly grabbing the soundtrack when it comes out.

From the way this game is looking, Sonic Battle never happened, or Sonic Battle happened after ShTH.

wink In Sonic Heroes, it never really talked about Shadow figuring out who Maria was.

Shesh man...I read some of the first page and I see alot of shadow haters...its your opinion which character to hate but don't just shoot down the ideas all together...for one shadow is NOT equipt with a gun, nor does he start with one...but simply has the ability to take a gun from a fallen enemy offering more interaction with the environment around you you have an option to use the gun or not...they said in the interview that shadow would use anything at his disposal to find the secrets of his past, sonic is not that type of person and will probably never use a gun...Gawd I hate it when people shoot down the idea without even renting the game...im a true fan to the blue blur and will be as long as I live the and love all the games 2D and 3D old and new...even sonic heroes ((though not as much as the adventure games I still liked it though))

I think it;s more the way the cover/publicity/almost every image of the game was emphasising the gun motif was what's getting people to complain.
Personally, the gun's not my problem. It's that the game's written with the Heroes engine, and that I dislike Shadow as a character due to his angst monkey nature.
