Kamiss immediatly wondered who this warrior was. He was determined not to lose; that didn't mean he'd save the world. I'll probably be first to die. Kamiss thought. "Right, let's get going." Kamiss said. Zero turned to Orlu and Feru. "Are you coming with?"

Orlu smiled, a little sadly.
"No, we cannot leave. This house is our connection to the earth. Our roots grow from underneath, and we cannot leave them or we will die. That was a choice we made long ago, and we still sometimes regret it. But we can send someone with you, if you wish for her help."
Lyra nodded energetically, knowing of who he spoke.
"Oh could we really? I havent talked with her in so long."
Even before she finished speaking, she heard a low-pitched whistling. Through an open door bound a strange creature; somewhat like a small horse, but with mottled dark blue skin and scales instead of fur. The creature whistled again, tossing a mane like kelp.

Zero laughed. "It looks like a small dragon. What is it?" Kamiss was watching in silent fascination with such a creature.

"It's Timiln! She's...she used to be...my familiar. She's another elemental, but she was born of water instead of the earth like Orlu and Feru. She's a wonderful travel companion. We'll never be without water while she's around. She can help us get where we're going. Oh, thank you so much!" She threw herself onto Orlu, giving him a great bear hug, and then did the same for Feru. She noticed as she pulled away from them that Orlu's flower was wilting. No longer purple, now grey.
"Don't worry, friends. We will make it through this. I only hope we can destroy this eveil before it does any more damage. I don't want to lose you, or the others." Lyra stepped back from the too, worried about the look they had taken on. Their vines had contracted to little tendrils from beneath their hair, and their withered skin looked pale and yellow.
She motioned with her head to the door, watching as Kamiss and Zero stepped outside. Please. Please don't do this. You know I can make it. I don't want you two to fade...
Silly, love. We won't fade. not yet. We're just a little tired, that's all. Calling Timiln was so draining this time... Go, and be well.
Lyra nodded and, followed by a practically bouncing Timiln, left the building, wincing as the door creaked to a shut behind her, and the light faded from the windows.

"I think we should go to the military HQ now. We might fnd something that can help us." Kamiss suggested. Zero nodded in assent. They both noticed how worried Lyra looked about her friends, and tried to smile. "They'll be okay." Kamiss said. "What do you think we should do?" Zero asked.

Winding her hand in Timiln's mane, Lyra's eyes seemed a little glazed over. but she responded to her traveling companions.
"Anywhere you think we should go is fine for now. There's somewhere we need to go eventually, but it's not essential for a while."
Timiln whickered, a noise reminiscent of bubbles underwater. She stepped toward Kamiss and Zero, and Lyra reluctantly went with her. She mumbled under her breath, "I've always hated the military..." (In case you're curious, the whole elemental-fading thing is a reference to The Neverending Story. Yeah)

(Did Lyra say that or Timiln?) Kamiss's ears perked; he thought he heard something coming from Timiln and Lyra's direction, but he couldn't make out the words. "Alright then." He leaped off the building without further ado, and Zero after him.

(Lyra, a.k.a me. I'm so anti-military, it's sad.)
Lyra followed them, eyes staring straight ahead, not focusing. her mind was still whirling from what Orlu had said. Kamiss had not heard, she knew. Orlu had sent her the message while Feru was reading the prophecy.
Dying...no. Not possible. Not my Elirew. Not happening...
As soon as Kamiss and Zero had done what they needed to do, she had to go to the mountain, one last time. She had to be sure.

"Lyra, what's wrong?" Kamiss was suddenly in front of her. Even in the short time since they had met each other, Kamiss could tell when something was wrong. (Also a trick Kamiss picked up in the military.) Zero stopped and looked back, but didn't say anything. "If there's somewhere you need to, something you need to do... Zero and I don't really know where to go next. Anywhere is good."

"No...it's, it's fine, really. It can wait. If it were urgent, I would've flown the second I heard...I mean...no, no let's just go your way." Lyra managaed to dredge up a weak smile, but her fingers did not work themselves from Timiln's mane. The elemental sent her thought-waves of comfort, and her tensed muscles eased a little. "I just need to check on someo...something before we go too far."

Kamiss frowned. "All... all right." He was far from fooled. 'Heard? Was it telepathy?' With all that ahd happened, Kamiss didn't doubt it. Suddenly, the dull pain residing from his mental attack (i'm lacking of a better way to say ginourmous migrane) suddenly became a fierce, blinding stabbing pain and Kamiss collapsed to his knees. He felt pain, not only in his head, but his arms and legs and heart as if he were being attacked. And at that moment he knew he was experiencing the pain thousansds were feeling as demons slaughtered them. "We... have to.... help!!!!" Kamiss cried out, gritting his teeth. "They're... in pain!!!! Ahhghh!" He cluthec his skull and tried not to scream. "Why... can't you.... feel it?"

"I can...but I feel it differently." Lyra kneeled by Kamiss, showing him the tears in her eyes. "I can hear them screaming. I can see it, inside the back of my mind. And look. I can't feel them, but I know what's going on." She rolled back her sleeves to reveal gashes all across the skin, deep red and bleeding. The blood disappeared as it dropped from her person, but the ugly wounds remained.
"So let's hurry, alright? No more distractions." Lyra stood, whistled to Timiln, and strode in the direction they had been heading.

Kamiss struggled to his feet and walked after her, the pain subsiding somewhat. Zerow as watching him curiously. "Are you able to fight?" Kamiss barely heard the question, his vision swaying. he almost threw up but didn't. "Y-yeah...." Zero accepted that but it was clear he was unsatisfied. Kmaiss stared at Lyra's arm where the wound had appeared. Was it gone now? Or was it real? She felt the pain in a different way. What about Zero?

For Lyra, the screams had started the second her connection with Orlu had faded. It seemed he had opened her to the pain, so she could better serve. Or so he thought.
We need to stop this torment. The world does not deserve this. No. Never.

Kamiss leaped from building to building, following Zero as his brother led the way to the military stronghold. (Sorry can't think of anything right now. Tired.)
