Salem ate another chop from one of the best in the business, forced to take a step back and hold the barricade once more! His chest was aching, but the fans along the rails were eagerly trying to pat Salem's shoulder and back, cheering him on as the referee shouted the count of eight! Straightening up, seeing Nuke make a break for the ring and roll back out to restart the count, "Showtime" would wait until Nukes feet touched the floor to biel his back into the edge of the apron!

If this match began with some sportsmanship, it was now slowly descending in to a hard fought match and rivalry. Whilst Nuke may have expected Salem to let him come back to the outside earlier on in the match, this time he was caught hard against the apron.
Getting his teeth, Nuke arched his back and then doubled over from the impact, as the crowd watched on.
Damn, what an opening match.

Salem slammed Nuke's spine into the unforgiving edge of the ring, leaving the legend hunched over next to the apron! Fans were going wild across the arena for this opening bout, both men giving and taking no quarter! Backing up as he caught his breath, still feeling twinges in his previously torqued leg, the "Gypsy Savage" braced himself on the set of stairs nearest Nuke, then charged and swung his legs out at the bent forward Fusion, trying to connect the heel of his boot to the back of Nuke's head with his signature Scissor Kick, the "Nap Town Shuffle"!

Just like that, in an instance, Nuke was knocked to the ground with a hard signature move. Hell, if he knew he'd be attacked, he'd have thought twice about breaking that count.
Instead his entire body is plunged downwards as he collides with the unforgiving mats outside, laying on the floor in a heap. The crowd around let off a loud cheer for Showtime.
Were we seeing the end of this match?

Salem had managed to drop Nuke like a sack of potatoes with his signature maneuver, but "Showtime" almost collapsed as he stuck the landing, feeling his attacked ankle tweak on the way down! Wincing, leaning up against the apron, Salem struggled to try and get Nuke back up, the referee shouting "Four!" after restarting the count! But with an ailing leg, Salem could barely move all of Nuke's dead weight! Regretfully, Salem ran a hand through his brow and backed up, hobbling to the steps to take a seat as he had no choice but to let Nuke try to stand on his own, if he was even still awake!

JR: Looks like we're getting quite the fight on the outside here but Salem's leg just can't support his own weight and Nuke's at the same time.
King: Nuke worked that leg over with that ankle lock earlier and you don't just bounce back from that.
Adrian: Let's also keep in mind that both of these men just returned at Wrestlemania this year. Salem coming off a stint in the hospital quite a bit longer than Nuke's month in for a concussion. Sometimes it takes a while to truly get back in the swing of things.
JR: Speaking of which, that Nap town Shuffle Salem just hit has to run the risk of another concussion, especially coming off the one your boss gave him at Backlash.
Adrian: Was I supposed to disagree with that, JR? Intentional or not, Salem is taking advantage of the work the Syndicate did. A win's a win, and beating a legend, a hall of famer no less, is quite the feather in Salem's cap

It took a good few moments for Nuke to finally start moving, as he looked around him slightly and noticed that Salem wasn't next to him. He sighed a little to himself, he had put himself through a lot in this match, and with that old concussion weighing on him to boot.
The Magnum Opus slowly makes his way to his feet, using the apron as leverage, and turns to look around at just where Salem might be.

Salem could see Nuke stirring, but the referee had already gotten to the count of eight! Rolling under the ropes and back out, Croft reset the count, coming back onto the outside just as Nuke was getting to his feet! Reaching out, Salem looked to snap one of Nuke's wrists and sling him to the farside barricade!

Nuke felt his consciousness coming back, but it wasn't enough to even fight back against the Irish Whip. He was sent running towards the steel steps on the outside, trying as quick as he can to think about how to get out of this predicament he currently finds himself in.

Salem slung Nuke hard towards the barricade, the fans eagerly anticipating what was next! Running behind Nuke with a ginger hop to his step, "Showtime" intended to catch Fusion from behind with a stiff shot when he hit the barricade!

Nuke had to take a chance here, one that could definitely backfire. But he knew that something had to be done here, his neck and head were already aching from the hits they had taken.
As Fusion gets to the steps he jumps up on to the top of them, looking to pull off a Moonsault on to the approaching Salem!

Salem was making good pace after Nuke, but the crafty contender countered Croft with a quick backflip off the barricade, Moonsaulting onto him! Crashing down hard onto "Showtime", Salem was laid out on the outside, dropped to the floor!

Nuke hit Salem with the moonsault and bolted to his feet, raising his fist in the air and beating his chest to a massive cheer from the crowd!
Fusion walked backwards and looked around him, surveying what he could possibly do next. Walking over to Croft, Nuke looked to slowly bring him to his feet. He would then attempt to lift him up and drop him down on his back on top of the apron!

Salem knew Nuke had the upper hand after that dazzling moonsault, and would look to take advantage! So as Nuke went to lift him, Salem let his body hand as dead weight, trying to slow down Fusion's efforts and give himself more time to recover!

Nuke felt the dead weight as he tried to pick up Salem and shook his head, aiming a hard elbow to Salem's skull!
He wasn't trying to knock out Showtime, but just show him the ropes, as to speak.
