Machika Balfaltin xer0authority I've gotten many rude comments on my Lolita gear, but normally I just reply with a kind "Hey. Let's play a nice, rousing game of shut the ******** up." I don't yell it. In fact, I say it with a smile, happy smile on my face. That might be the eerie bit.
I get plenty of nice compliments too. Being that I live in New York, comments vary. People are highly eclectic here, so you never know what to expect. When I was in New York, I didn't see anyone dressed in any unusual style, and I mean AT ALL. It was quite odd.Same. Saw plenty of people who were high, though.

C a t h a r s i s Raven_of_Flames Sorry if it's a bit off topic, but... It kind of annoys me when people lump goth and gothic together... they are two different things... And the worse part is that the two often get themselves mixed up(which I have done occasionally when I'm kinda into conversation and not paying attention to the detail in my sentances...the later get mad at myself...) While we're here, you've intrested me. XP What is the difference? I didn't see anyone answer this, I apologize if I'm just restating something. Goth would be belts/buckles/chains/hottopic. "Gothic" is a time period. So having gothic clothing would be clothing relating to that time period.

My sister and I get strange looks here and there but no one really has the nerve to say anything to us. We like the way we dress anyway. ^^ I wouldn't let a random stranger change my mind about that.

Hmmm... So far, all I've gotten were compliments and alot of interest in my attire... And I've got tatts, piercings and the occassional odd colored hair to go with it... (I heavily mix VK with Loli-styles)

I get weird looks, and sometimes people will whisper to eachother. That's about it. Though once I group of teenage guys at the mall started showing off to try to get my attention. I ignored them lol.

Cause I go Loligoth every day, I get comments/stares once in a while, but really not all that much. I'm from Toronto, and if you walk around downtown (particularly in the fashion district) every other person dresses a bit quirky, so it's like it's no big deal. Ocassionally I get comments, whistles and stuff, but I just ignore it, or if they're really bothering me, I gave them the Mana-sama "Ice Queen" stare. rofl

xd I loved Toronto, or at least what I saw in the two short days I spent there. cry I remember... the stadium had awesome cotton candy. I didn't have to choose pink or blue because they were swirled together into a pretty pink/blue cotton candy spiral of sugary yumminess. ^_^
The Mana-sama "Ice Queen" stare is definitely the way to go. xd

Ahh, I remember the first day I started at my new school in the ghetto. There's pretty much 1 fashion there, ghetto, that's about it. Then you have a few preppy people. There are other non-fashions, just casual, or I don't have money-ghetto fashions. I was wearing a black skirt, knee-high biker boots pink stockings that came above the boots, and a pink baby tee with black polka dots, I did have on a collar and some cat ears but some dumbass made me take them off >.>, it was an off-lolita look.
I walked into the library after registering to get my schedule. Right as I walked in this girl looked me up and down and said, "What is THAT?" but it wasn't to me, it was to the people she was with.
That was like the worst comment I actually got, and I was soooo pissed off, but because I was new I just walked on by. Before I had people in the office making cat meowing noises. Then I walked into another office, and I said to one of the guys, "So we meet again." and he said "Oh, ********." XD He got in trouble for his language though XD
I'm not strickly Lolita, I try to do it whenever I can though....but my fashion sense gets a lot of comments considering the kind of dumbass dropout school I go to. My acting teacher said she LOVED my sense of style *squee*
I also had a dollar bill stuffed into one of my fishnets once O_o a girl in choir just reached back, grabbed the top of my stockings, and slipped the bill in there XD

It really depends on where you live. Where I used to live in IL many people were unkind when I would walk about in my outfits. Though where I live now they are quite accepting (For the most part). I get many compliments now, where as before I was only insulted.

I get downed on a lot where I live.
Though I kinda suck it up and keep going. I love lolita, and that'll never change.
Yeah, sometimes I'm afraid to go out for walks as a Lolita, but I just take a deep breath and do it.

wtf. why do so many people get called whores and sluts when they dress lolita? it's like, the farthest thing! D: I'm confused. oh well. I guess I'll figure it out when I dress lolita myself. ^_^;
I always get glared at in school anyway; I'm Italian and my town is like, 98% Dutch, so I stick out like a sore thumb anyway. Might as well give them something to look at. biggrin
