NEver had the luxury of going into fairs as a kid. He thought how much fighting ever since he been with the underground group. This festival was a new to him
"No problem, Diana" The line wasn't seriously long but it was moving fast. He thought that he would hope to be a lone by himself or at least with Diana as company and not the entire group. But it wasn't that a bother, just something he would prefere. But it still sucks to wait though. And it appears to be having more people enter. The pods looked soothing as it was their turn. "Never been to a ferris wheel before, but the way they go , it looks quite relaxing."

She and Maokai went and had a little bit of everything. One slice of pizza for each, one stick of hotdog, and a burger halved just right. After that they had funnel cakes for dessert with strawberries and cream on the top. "Shall we head back to campus? We have quite some time before we prepare for resuming classes." With a still smiling face she walked on, but suddenly paused and looked up at the sky, and had the strangest feeling overwhelm her. She suddenly sensed that something was moving from the shadows, and that the change she had initially felt was increasing in momentum. Things were moving along just fine, as it should be. She stopped staring at the sky and resumed to catch up to Maokai, who was stumbling a bit from the slight food coma he was experiencing. He didn't seem to notice her slight comeuppance of a reaction to some unseen force that she read beneath to surface of things. The sun was beginning to set, and the Carnival would soon come to a close. This was surely a day to remember, meeting her first friend at the school like the innocent days of school which they depict in those picturesque modern day fantasy novels. She was living the dream here and now, was she? Shamilla beamed at the thought.

It was hard to stay serious when around his team; especially when Rowan complimented him on being so chill, comparing him to zucchini and sunglasses-cool cucumber levels, however that was meant to be taken. Ryker had to chuckle at it though and smile. 'Leave it to Rowan to be your biggest supporter and fan; in a good way.' He thought to himself, seeing Rowan as the kind of guy who always believed the best of people and could find the good in anyone. Or so he thought at least. Still finding it funny how many animals both he and Astra wanted; and glad it was Tsuki who made sure their rooms didn't become a zoo. As he asked his question, he would hear first from Tsuki about it being a family tradition. Which was interesting to know given her family; 'I can see Ichiro...but not Haruko or Yuki-...wait no, I can see her being one. Does that mean Fuyuko and Moriko will as well?' He thought silently to himself. Haruo and Fuyuko seeming the least likely in his eyes, but then he didn't know too much about the former's younger years and Fuyuko was still pretty young. Hell, he is going to beacon and he is the last kind of person he'd expect to given his own reasoning for it. Next was Astra who would say how she did it to see the world; given how the world was it made sense. To travel you'd need to be able to protect yourself and those with you, and to get those places back too. It was a nice reason for it. Last was Rowan who said his mom wanted him to go so he could straighten up and get an education because of being a very hyper child who didn't listen, and that he wanted to make her proud. Though for the latter two teammates...Astra's tail had deflated a bit before answering so happily, and Rowan almost seemed a bit...nervous? His laugh in between speaking made something feel a bit off. Though he couldn't quite place his finger on it.
He decided to leave it be for now though, and would give his own answer. Purposefully waiting for everyone else cause...he was a bit embarrassed truth be told. He didn't exactly have the greatest reason for being here, but he would answer truthfully. "I don't quite have as good a reason as the rest of you, but I'm a bit similar to Rowan. I just wanted to know enough to be able to protect myself, my parents thought it could teach me discipline, and I found it more interesting than regular school. At least that was my initial reason for joining..." He would respond before trailing off a little. Memories of their mission coming to mind and the chaos and fear of everything. They had done it but it shattered his own mindset of the world to a degree; everything was so much worse outside of the walls. But could he be selfish enough to ignore it just to lead a life of bliss? He wasn't sure. Thankfully, or maybe not, Tsuki would change the subject and ask something that had been on all their minds it seemed; what was up with Astra. He had been thinking of bringing it up himself, but glad it was Tsuki instead. Looking to Astra, she would say everything was fine and she just had a moment. But even to Ryker that didn't sound quite sincere since she was usually a ball of excited and happy energy; even on their mission. Then, he would notice her scroll light up of a message from someone called evil witch. Being the curious cheetah he was...and that the message showed, he quickly read it before Astra would toss it into her mouth portal and hide it away. He could see the fear in her eyes, and her ears/ tail go flat. He had almost never heard Astra's full name, maybe once for the official team thing, but seeing someone say that name of hers and to go home...he wondered what was up, especially by her reactions. She would then say this is fine, and it was just a moment again. Almost like a coping mechanism as her bubbly cheer seemed gone. He would see Rowan give him a look; both questioning and worry for Astra. Looking to the chipmunk teammate...Ryker would sigh softly and ask. "Who is the evil witch, why do they want you to go home, and how can we help?" He asked seriously and with concern in his voice for his teammate. Though also with a resolve at the end that was not usually associated with Ryker. As the way it sounded...they may be waiting for her at the bottom of this ride. And there was no way he was letting his team mate get forced to anything she didn't want.

Cecil sighed before he began to pat the back of her head while she was mentally running scenarios through her head before she squeezed him back. He smiled before kissing her forehead gently. "The School will never know sweetie, just shhhhh it'll be fine." He told her while she soon began to relax in his arms while he soon walked with her over to the table where he set his blondies, using her rather than his cane. "Honestly, the blondies sound very good right now." He told her with a chuckle as he sat down. "So.... what classes do we have left?" He asked her calmly as he took the first bite.

Tsuki was quiet as she listened to each of her teammates looking to Astra first as she spoke of travel and shook her head."Travel will be nice, but remember, this is a serious work...that includes death,"Tsuki retorted lightly, though the comment was meant to be light, she also wanted to remind them that the life of a huntsman/woman, even one in-training can die. She would smile softly before turning to the other two as they spoke as well. Hearing Rowan say it was to make his mama happy made her smile a bit; a split-second of pain but it was gone quickly as it came. Though something felt a bit off; she'd leave it for now. Ryker was last, though she was surprised at first...before nodding as she thought about it.
Smiling softly, she looked to the cheetah faunus."Well, you'll learn that quick,"Tsuki said, while he was silent, she would reach over and rest her hand upon his with a gentle squeeze before letting go and doing so to Astra's and Rowan's hands each before her hands were in her lap as she sat back once more. She would then address the chipmunk faunus then.'I don't think so,'she thought and said as much."Astra, we are your teammates and your friends. Please, you are safe to talk to us,"Tsuki said in a calm and gentle tone, speaking truthfully before trying to reassure the young faunus (though she was technically the same age).
Tsuki looked to the girl as she lied to herself; their soda-pop bubbly Astra seeming stressed. Frowning slightly in concern, she was about to address it further until Ryker spoke up. Her concern still in her eyes although it was now paired with confusion as she looked to Astra once more just as she would throw the scroll into the void; essentially a permanent Do Not Disturb.'Evil Witch?'She thought in question."What Ryker said,"Tsuki sighed. This, she felt might be family thing, was her first guess; as she knew some people in town that were not fond of the school's teachings of the young fighting the Grimm, but that was it."We're here for you, Astra,"Tsuki confirmed with a smile.

Astra felt her hand grabbed. She wanted to escape, to go and hide for a little bit. If she could go in her cheek pouches, she would. it would have been the perfect hiding place...She would look to Ryker. He had seen the message...Oh no...She didn't want them to see that, that's why she threw it into her portal, cutting off the signal. Heck, throwing it in there meant she didn't exactly know where it was. Even if she wanted to respond to her mom, she couldn't.
It looked like she couldn't escape without her friends this time. She had to tell them...."The evil witch is my ma." If this were an anime, a tear would descend down her face. "I didn't come to Beacon with my parents permission. I didn't even take the test with their permission..." She would look down. "Living with Ma and Pa wasn't the best...We were all forced to work on the farm from the time we could walk. I loved being with the animals, but I also wanted to know what was outside of our lil' farmin' town." Her voice would sound more farm girlish than it ever had before, since the bubbles left. "I was 10 when I found out about more about the world. I had been sick, and Ma went to the restroom while we were at the doctor. I picked up an old travel magazine. I saw so many nature pictures, I wanted to be there with a camera taking those pictures. I stole the magazine from there. I started askin' questions about aura and the like...I would take eggs to sell and sit reading what I could from the library on how to become a huntress. I became the best gunner on the farm. I worked hard...I went through everythin' When the test at Beacon came around, I told them I was going to go sell one of the cows. I took it, and overcharged vale...and I used the extra money to take the test."
They would notice that she didn't make eye contact with any of them. Tears were flowing down her face. "I loved the day I stayed in actual Vale. I was happy for once, and I could even see the mountains for once. I did a passable amount on the test. I know I ain't the smartest, but getting that acceptance letter from Beacon was the best thing that ever happened to me. I packed up all my stuff, at least the stuff I could, and I took Sir Reginald with me with the weapons I could grab. I didn't even leave a letter for Ma or Pa. I told my siblins that I was leaving though...She finally found me..." her voice would crack, as tears rolled further down her face. "I wanna stay at Beacon, I don't want to go home...I wanna become a huntress...and travel..." She just started crying harder. She had been hiding this the entire time. "...I want to be happy....That's why it's a moment..."

The pale-coloured brownie almost melted in her mouth. Warm, fresh and gooey. "These are amazing! Vale should hold more Water Festivals." Or maybe she needed to get out of Beacon more, besides going on missions. "Once we finish, what do you want to go do first?"

Zachariah de La Vallière
With eyes shocked as the moth blasted by, Zachariah couldn't suppress his grin; A laugh held back only by a hand and a little bite of his tongue as his teammate was sent back into line by the ride attendant. Was this guy so determined to be first at everything? To be the best? Yet, when reasoning kicked in and the moth returned by Z he'd let Miserorum take place in front of him. In a strange way, in his own way, Miserorum was very much like Diana in his naivety of this world. While Zachariah has some of his own learning to do, it must be so much more difficult to both Di and M. The butterfly was bubbly and somewhat of a goof, as Zachariah recalls her dive bombing him by accident the first time they met, but M was thoughtful and serious, albeit a little prideful. With so little of their past known to each other one would assume it had something to do with their lives...but today was not the day to pry into that. Today was a day to just be normal civilians.
With moth returned and M's eyes fixated on the sky Zachariah looked up as well and recalls a time he and the other orphans had a picnic on the outskirts of his town. "Yeah...same here." Zachariah didn't allude anymore to his own past but at this moment is was as though he felt a sense of familiarity with Miserorum. Maybe it was just because they were both small town boys living in a strange big city, or perhaps because of their shared time at Beacon Academy, But whatever the cause Zachariah didn't want to ruin this moment of calm with needless words; Just shooting the breeze was all that was needed. Z had almost forgotten they were in line until it finally moved, giving the team finally a chance to board this metal contraption and for Zachariah to pay for both he and M to ride. "Meh, don't mention it." Z said to the moths thanks, giving him a lax reply while also assuring his teammate he wasn't going to hold this small token of friendship over him. That just wasn't Zach's style.
The words of his other companions were not lost on Zachariah. He gave a head nod to Di as she gave thanks to his earlier comment but wanted to say something else. Though, at this moment he also didn't want to bring up questions involving how she's been slightly cold to him lately. Not when she was sporting such a cheery smile. Instead Zach would look with wide eyes out to the sea from his seat besides Miserorum, across from Oswald and to the opposite corner of Diana. As the quartet took their places the ride operator gave them the usual warnings of most amusement rides, like to keep all body parts in the ride at all times and, with the four now on the moving ride ascending to the sky. Zachariah's expression slightly stiffened as the pod moved but took a deep breath and took out his Scroll to search for something.

How quick for things to turn. All joy and carefree behavior; shattered in an instant. As soon as Ryker had asked the question, the drama fan had hit. The last place of expectation for this windmill had been from Astra, the normally cheerful one of the bunch. She of course had wished to say nothing. Rowan could see she wanted to hide it. Seeing her like this had him immediately sober a little with concern, sitting himself a bit better with attention. "Very true!! If you don't wish to speak though save your frittatas!!! Oh wait! That doesn't sound right. But yes! Friendship is here and maybe we can cheer?" The attention was there, but perhaps staying silent should have been best. Perhaps that enthusiasm should have been saved for another time and moment. It was due to how she had began the topic had his eye twitched, to a point he had to lol away. "Another one with a bad mom?"
Expecting to have heard some completely tragic story of neglect or abuse, what they were told... Had set an uneasy fire to him. "What is this!?" The more Astra had continued, the more agitated he had become. Her life sounds like it's heaven! She had parents who gave her a care, despite farm work! How worried they must be! How lucky she was to even have parents who cared enough to find her! Rowan would have loved to have that life if he were lucky to! If he had that life.... His sister's wouldn't have.... "NO!!" "WHY-" Almost breaking from his silence, the young raccoon couldn't even look at this teammate. His sentence had been cut from the ride stopping, he himself grabbing his backpack off the floor. "I.. need to go. Air.... Air... Ride sicko neediness mess. Gonna puke... Bad milk...." In a panicking breath of holding his emotions in, Rowan had bolted off that ride, running into the crowd. Getting himself buried among the people, the never stopped running, until he had finally lost his breath. "Dammit...." Punching the nearest item to him, Rowan had caved. "Unfair..."

Where once he was more a happy-go-lucky type of guy, an encounter with the grimm had set him more straight in the realities of the world. Even if they had succeeded on their first mission with no losses, it was jarring enough for him to realize the danger the world was in and what huntsman actually represented. It wasn't some cool title he could use to boast for fun or anything like he had initially thought about. And now, more than ever, he was unsure of his future. He had always viewed the school as a fun middle step on his way to being a soccer star; never really considering it something he would pursue. But now...he was not so sure. He still believed you should see the light side of things; a life focused on the negative was no life at all. And he would've said something if he felt Tsuki may've been too dark with it; but she seemed to balance the line well enough. Tsuki seemed cheerful enough with all of them after as well, Ryker missing the moment of pain in her own expression, before she would speak to him now. Saying he would learn quick, which he was honestly doubting a bit, before he would feel her hand on his as she would gently squeeze it. Ryker would give her an appreciative smile before she would let go and do so with the others. 'I suppose that is why she is the leader.' He thought to himself silently. Then all eyes were on Astra...and the tender moment seemed to fall to the wayside.
Tsuki would agree with him that they were here for her, with Rowan saying if she didn't desire to say anything it was okay. Which Ryker would nod too; he wouldn't force it out if she truly didn't want to say, but this also seemed really serious so like the rest of them he didn't want to leave his teammate to deal with whatever it was alone. The most surprising thing, after her story, was her saying the evil witch was her mother. She would go on to explain how did not come to beacon with permission; instead, she had done so with telling no one but her siblings. She had explained the working life of the farm was not for her, and that she wanted to see the world. How her first glimpse of it was a magazine at a doctors office that she took from there and fed her curiosity. Of her ravenous desire to learn more and see more; spending time reading and questioning things to learn. She would then say how she took a farm to sell, overselling it in the process to pay to take the test and eagerly awaiting it in the mail. Finally, she got the results back and found out she was accepted; only telling her siblings she was leaving as she took as much as she could before coming here. But apparent her mother had now found her, and she didn't want to go back; tears going down her face as she said she wanted to be happy as Ryker tried to think this stuff through. Before Ryker could come up with anything though, he heard a raised voice from the last person he expected; Rowan.
Turning to the usually cheerful raccoon faunus, surprise on Ryker's face, all thoughts and attempts to speak would be cut off by the sudden stop of the ride. Rowan, seeming deterred from continuing and not looking at them, would grab his bag and bail while not even being able to speak a full sentence. Saying he needed air and that the ride plus bad milk had made him sick. Before Ryker could even stand he had disappeared into the crowd. "Rowan?" He would call out, confusion in his voice, but the raccoon faunus was gone. Even with him stepping out of the ride to try and see there was just too many people to spy the lone raccoon faunus. Looking back to Tsuki and Astra, he wondered what went wrong; not quite convinced it was just feeling sick but having no way to ask now. He would shake his head sadly. "I can't see him. I hope he is alright but...Splitting up to try and look for him now would only make things worse." He would say as he tried to see if there was anyone around that could look like Astra's mom. His eyes would then stray to Tsuki if he didn't see her. A silent look asking 'what do we do now?'
The young tigress was silent as she would listen to the young chipmunk's story. It was very much longer than she had expected and was not what she had been expecting to hear. Her expression was neutral as she listened with unbiased thoughts in mind. At least she tried to do so. The more she heard, the more Tsuki felt something stirring in her. Something she hadn't felt in a long time but, she couldn't exactly place it or say it for now as she listened completely, holding out a clean tissue she had in her purse to the girl.
When Astra was done, she had not realized how much time had gone by. Frowning slightly she looked to Astra, the other two and then back at their smallest teammate.'I must be mature about this,'she thought to herself. Icy-blue eyes looking to Astra once more with a calm resolution now that she knew what was at risk. The tigress sighed and was about to speak when the ride had stopped abruptly. 'WHY-'
'Rowan?!'She thought as she turned to her teammate, her eyes widening in concern as he had rambled and escaped so swifter than a kid with their hand caught in the cookie jar."Rowan...!?"Tsuki called after their friend but, he was out like a bat out of the nine Hells as well; disappeared into the crowd as she rushed out of the ride with the other two. Sighing softly, she looked to the other two, and seeing the question in Ryker's eyes would frown and shake her head in response."Astra, we will think of a solution for your situation later. But this is far from done...I'm sure Rowan will meet us back at our dorm, and he has his scroll on him. He'll contact us if anything and vise versa,"Tsuki said after a calm breath, addressing Astra calmly before addressing them both with a reassuring smile before she would calm and walk on. Hiding any of the real worry she had for the raccoon.
