General Tourmaline chooses to Kill the Pony before it can cause any harm.

Distrusting just about everything at this point, Tourmaline will caution others proceeding forward and she'll be ready to spring should the pony be anything other than what it seams. Trust. Issues.

Obi nodded along, they would be fine on the balcony. Or at least she hoped so. The important thing was making sure that they had a way out in case the youma really were that strong. She couldn't well lie to him that they would be safe. She knew the rift benefited them, but she knew there were plenty of places inside of it that weren't exactly safe. With the rift as big as it was, it's not like they could watch over it all.

Only one other person stepped out onto the balcony with them. However, the poor thing didn't seem to have that much support holding it up anymore. There was no way they could have known the wall was busted just below it, after all they didn't explore the down stairs even one bit. It gave way underneath the weight of the two agents and Obi couldn't help her claws digging into Fettelite as they were dumped onto the ground.

On the bright side, they were outside now, with their leader. "I'm so sorry Fettelite, I didn't mean to hurt you." Obi wiggled free of his arms, so that he could more easily right himself after the fall. She turned to the other agent that had been dumped beside them as well. "Are you alright?" She wanted to make sure he was okay too, that none of the debris or anything had damaged them.

The dumbwaiter was a very intersting device - and she was sure that it was likely stuck due to all the crystals and what not growing around this part of whatever extradimensonal hole they were in. Instead of trying to force the dumbwaiter to move - and possibly break more than it already was - she decided to instead look around for any tools or mechanisms that might give her some insight onto the machine's workings.

Better to be safe, than mopping the puddles of people out of the dumbwaiter.

[Prompt 5a - Answers]


Choice 1
Unfortunately, the door is sealed shut by something other than force. There is magic at work here and all that your character manages to do is stay out of harm’s way. As their team members kill off the youma responsible for the illusions, they’re finally able to open the door and join their comrades that have begun to exit through the dumbwaiter across the hallway.

Choice 2
Hurting someone you love is always a hard thing to do but with the determination that these illusions aren’t real, your character attacks them with great success! The illusions fade away to show the sparkling youma, right before she turns into a pile of dust. As she dies, the door unseals itself, and the team is able to join their comrades across the hall to exit the building via dumbwaiter.

Choice 3
Unfortunately, there is a bit more to the room than illusion magic. The youma seems to be particularly clever and although your character did their best to try and eliminate it, the illusion of themselves turns out to be in the mirror. They attack it, only to find that their attacks rebound on themselves. It might smart a little, but they’ll be okay! As their team members kill off the youma responsible for the illusions, the door unseals itself and they’re able to join their comrades that have begun to exit through the dumbwaiter across the hallway.

Choice 1
Attacking the youma is completely useless! As your character runs up at her, she reaches out with one razor-tipped leg and swipes at them. They better dodge fast, or they’ll have to sit out the rest of the mission.

BEFORE you can continue to the next prompt, you must roll a 10-SIDED DIE to stay in the game!
- If you roll a 1, your character takes major damage from the spider youma and will be escorted by an NPC agent back to the THE BASE ZONE. You do not get to play in the Zone B finale battle, but may participate in events in the base zone.

- If you roll 2 - 10, your character manages to dodge the attack.


Choice 2
It seems like it would be a waste of time, but somehow, the music box does the trick! As your character winds it up, it begins to play the same, eerie song - but at the correct pitch. The beautiful notes of the music box fill the air and spider youma curls in on herself, as if she can’t take the sound of her own song. She emits one last, shrill screech before she falls to the floor, poofing into dust as she collides with it.

Your character can now exit through the dumbwaiter once it’s working.

Choice 3
Although the spider doesn’t seem to notice your character dodging for the exit, it might be for a good reason - the dumbwaiter cart is stuck at the bottom and won’t budge! You can see people briefly but it’s too hard to try and call out to them with the sound of the youma screeching overhead. Luckily, your team mates manage to kill it somehow.

Choice 1
There aren’t many tools laying around the grounds of the tavern, but your character does manage to locate a wrought-iron bar that has fallen off of the nearby fence. The team trying to get the handle to work seems to be getting nowhere. Instead, they stick the bar under the cart, give it a shove, and it breaks away freely. It seems to have been stuck to the bottom by a sticky white residue - spider’s silk, perhaps?

Now all of the team members trapped upstairs can get down, even if it’s a slow process.

Choice 2
Try as they might, no one can seem to get the car to work by pushing on the lever alone. It’s obvious that something has gotten it stuck, but they can’t figure out why! Someone else manages to free the cart using the leverage of an iron bar, but all of your character’s effort has gone to waste.

As your character approaches the pony, something unexpected happens! It begins to morph, quickly, into a flaming youma. What portion of the stable that hasn’t already been crystallized is quickly set aflame and because of your proximity to it, your character is caught in the worst of it. They better get out, and fast!

- If you roll a 1, your character inhales too much smoke and is suffering from smoke inhalation! They will be saved by an NPC agent and escorted back to the THE BASE ZONE. You do not get to play in the Zone B finale battle, but may participate in events in the base zone.


- If you roll 2 - 10, your character manages to get out in time.


Choice 2
As your character approaches the pony, something unexpected happens! It begins to morph, quickly, into a flaming youma. What portion of the stable that hasn’t already been crystallized is quickly set aflame. Your character acts quickly and attacks it right at the heart - the only place on its body left vulnerable. It quickly disintegrates into a pile of ash and the fire that began to spread dissipates immediately. Their quick thinking might have just saved them all!

Your character seems to have made a good choice. Even though they didn’t help anyone, they stayed out of harm’s way and exit the stables without any problems. Is that fire they can see from the outside? Oh well.

Prompt 6 - All Characters


Thanks to the group working on the dumbwaiter, everyone inside of the building has managed to escape and the team is once again united with Uvarovite. With the exception of a few unlucky agents that took too much damage to continue onward, they will continue the search. With the main building, the stables and the storehouse all checked off the list of possible hiding places, there are only two parts of this area still left to search - the rear orchard and the garden.

[Choice 1]:
The mist crawling over the lands at the farthest end of the tavern pathway seems to have disappeared, for whatever reason, and your character feels like the old orchard is a relatively safe place to search. Most of the trees have withered to dry husks only a few inches tall, while others seem to have been burned away entirely.

[Choice 2]:

Lt. Kainite chooses to search the Garden. (21 Points)

As far as Kainite was concerned, his efforts in this mission so far had been nothing short of a roaring success. After all, surely what's-his-name wouldn't have been able to get the music box started without Kainite's glorious caffeine bomb of a distraction, at the risk of life and limb - and they were the one that'd found the dumb waiter and basically saved the day, so there was that and all. Not bad for a lieutenant. "We're doing a great job, aren't we?" he commented to the pink-haired captain he'd been hanging close to the entire time, whether or not his 'companion' was actually listening to him - although now he was lacking in soda to sip at throughout the mission which was sort of a bummer.

Anyway, emboldened by all this, whether or not the captain in question followed, Kainite merrily marched on ahead, kicking at crystal and dirt and kind of marveling at the whole thing.

After getting the dumbwaiter open - the metal bar being a godsend in it's own right, Gunningite was more than happy to regroup with the group as a whole, aside from those too injured to continue. Hopefully they would be fine - but for now her focus was on the mission.

That said - the garden seemed to be the better option than the orchard. Hopefully whoever it was that had hidden away this gear, cog, what have you, did so in a place familiar to them - and gardens were closer to buildings and thus easier to get to if you had to run off somewhere - at least in her mind.
