The entire month Kyosuke had was nothing but pure work. He not only knew better and more effective ways to use his Peculiarity, but how to apply them in heroics too. Of course, the only downside is his martial arts. Up until recently, he only ever fought one style, and it was over whatever he saw on old Bruce Lee kung-fu movies, and fighting video games. But learning a whole martial arts style from scratch was something new. He had been losing fights lately, despite his Spider Senses guiding him. Maybe it was time to learn something different. But still, those times are behind him. Since then, he learned as much martial arts as a brown belt in a class. Still, Kyo was a great fighter, thanks to his spider powers giving him an extra edge.
As of his relationship with Mokihana, it's been getting better each time, and he would learn much about her. Her family life especially, even though she never gave much info on the rest of her family, other than being raised by her mom before the eyesight thing happened. Speaking of which, Kyo had been hard at work learning the construct of optic nerves, which basically had him in and out of the library. He's been researching more and more into the eyes, seeing if there's a way to help with creating an artificial way to connect the nerves for the brain to get information without sight. Still, all this science talk ended up making Kyo go full geek mode, and just ramble to himself.
Today, on the other hand, was a day where Kyo would take Mokihana over to the cafe in town for some relaxation from school life, since the two would need it the most. He enjoys spending time with her outside of school whenever he can, and with the second semester around the corner, he would cherish any single time he has with her. Holding her hand, Kyo would walk with her as her eyes while talking to her about himself. Where he's from, about his adopted parents, and ironically, the truth about Kyo's Peculiarity. After getting to the cafe, the two took a seat at a booth, to where Kyo would sit across from her. So yeah... The truth is, I never really had a Peculiarity. I'm not really supposed to be in this school, but I want to stay. I really want to be a hero, so I lied to get in. Kyo told her. What really happened, was that I got exposed to some kind of lab experiment with deadly toxins, and instead of killing me, I got spider powers. Kyo told her.
It had been a fairly unique month for the girl. Her time spent Kyosuke was definitely a big light in the sky for her. Sure she had been feeling sullen as per usual but just thinking of the possibility of another chance with him helped get her out of bed before noon or so now. Over the past few dates and times spent together, she would open up more and more each time. Of course, that glaring spot on her family history was going to be covered up for as long as possible. She hadn't informed Jasper of her new relationship but had a feeling that he would find out soon enough. Being one of the heads of a crime syndicate had a few perks like that. Still, she should enjoy life as much as possible since things could change. Mokihana felt Kyo's hand take her own one day and bring her back to the cafe off campus that she loved.
The way he spoke about giving her sight eventually was a bit skeptical though Hana believed in him. Sure, all this science talk was much too complex for her but just seeing him nerd out over it made him so adorable. This time, it was Kyo who would be opening up. About his life, adopted parents, and even his peculiarity. She was surprised to learn that it was even possible for those born without a power to gain one. Her fingers traced the counter of the table the two sat at while trying to figure out what was best to say to the boy. It was clearly a big deal to him to want to be a hero and she would have done the same thing if the roles were reversed.
"Well, that just makes for a better story." Mokihana said, beaming brightly at Kyo. "Not many people get the chance you do. I think it speaks well about your character that you chose to use it to help others." She tried to look on the bright side of his situation. Not only had he lived, but he had cool spider powers as well. "Maybe one day, you can swing me across New York and show me all the sights."
Kyo smiled as Mokihana listened to the truth of him, instead of being like a certain purple haired fourth year who was condescending on the fact that he just "weasled his way in," according to her. Still, Kyo paid no attention to Rebecca, and focused more on Moki. Thanks, Hana. Truth be told, it sounds like a stereotypical plot for a sub-par action anime where they focus more on side characters than the main cast. Kyo said as a joke. He was always the biggest otaku in his school. Besides, what's the chance of another guy who did the same thing, right?
At that moment, Kyo went and ordered two frozen lattes for the both of them. He enjoyed them here the most over the starbucks kind he has at home. Yup, that's why I can't wait to figure eyesight out. I already heard there's a method. Funny enough, I heard of some guy going to law school in New York who can see through sound waves to shape what objects look like around him. He said. If I can figure out that much, then we can definitely swing around. Kyo said to her happily. As the latte's came over, Kyo thanked the barista, and took a sip. So if you don't mind me asking, how did you discover your Peculiarity? He asked.
Jae-Seong heard the door to the cafe open, but didnโt look up until Erwin was right in front of the table. He waved to his neighbor and answered with a greeting, โโEvening! No, not at all~ Once the other was seated, the waiter came back with his latte and asked Erwin for his drink order. After whatever he would order, they left and Jae focused his attention back. He looked down to the menu for a moment, he still had been debating between two pastries. So instead, he figured that he would get both!
The male set down the menu and focused back Erwin. โSo.. Howโs your day been?โ Oh god, he was already regretting this whole thing. Jae-Seong hated small talk, what was he supposed to say?! It wasnโt as if he knew the guy that well.. Which is why they had planned this today so that he could get to know him. Sometimes he really needed his mind to make more sense. The waiter came back again soon with the simple black coffee for Erwin and then asked for their orders. โI will take the crรชpe suzette and loukoumades, please!โ He gave his order, excited to taste the different sugared syrups of both pastries. Jae handed over his menu and took a sip from his latte- not sweet enough for him so he added in two spoonfuls of sugar.

As always, excellent customer service here. Not long after he took a seat one of the servers approached him to take his order. Though by now anyone knows what he would order to drink because if anything, Erwin gets the same thing every time and it has become predictable. Black coffee, to match his soul hair, though he has asked if he could get cream on the side in case. While waiting, he fiddled with his fingers for a bit before glancing down at the menu in front of him. Glancing down and read through the many different items offered at that cafe. Looking for something.. not so sweet. Though it seemed like his neighbour has quite a sweet tooth.. It was his personal opinion but something about sugary foods made his stomach turned. Though to avoid being rude he doesn't comment on that.
Through his idle menu reading he heard Jae-Seong asking him about his day, something he hears a lot in conversations but he's not judging. It's not like he was the social butterfly, he never was. You can ask his family and the very few friends he has. Kind of why they planned this, he was told he needs to expand his circle and coworkers don't count. โMy day.. I suppose it was alright. Quiet morning in the office, eventless day on field and finishing with it with paperwork. How about you? Youโre a pro hero, correct? Whatโs that like? Though the otherโs order has arrived, he himself has yet to order anything. Heโs still trying to find something that interests him. When the server returned with Jaeโs order, Erwin awkwardly raises his hand for the serverโs despite just being across the table from the other. Externally he seemed calm as always, but internally he was beating himself. โWhy couldnโt you just talk to them? Put your arm down, theyโre right there.. But what if they think youโre talking to someone else? But Jaeโs the only one nearby- Wait theyโre looking at you. Quick say something!โ Shaking off his previous thoughts as he briefly smiles at the server as he has finally made his. โIโll just have the pain au chocolat, please.โ After the server left to get the pastry, Erwin interlocked his fingers together and lowered onto the table before returning his attention to his neighbour to hear his answer.
The last few months went by without any real issues. Kaden spent a lot of his time with the person he was meeting today. Typically, he would hang out quite as much, but he had a job to do. Jae was a hero he met a while ago. It was by accident--during a full moon. The guy was impossible to figure out because he was lost to his own peculiarity so to speak. At least that's what he found out later. They ended up running into him a bit later at the bar and that's when nosey Mitch found out he was a pro hero. Someone who had ties to the hero headquarters. A place they were wanting to look into but would take some time. Thus, he was tasked to befriend the guy in order to get juicy bits of information even though they were actually focused on something else currently. That's how they worked. Checking out all the rotten pies. It might seem as if there were lulls, but they were technically always doing something. How else would they get anything done?
Kaden walked into the place and put his hands in his pockets as he glanced around. He wasn't here yet so he asked for a table while mentioning he someone would be arriving shortly. It better not take him forever to show up anyway. Soon he was guided to a table and sat down. Ordering water almost immediately. He didn't actually come to this establish often--at least not through the front. Kaden probably spent more time in the back with the owner. He also ran into her by accident, but there was no reason to interact much over the months. They just did from time to time. It might have been because she was involved in the Orphanage incident. Well, more like she found the aftermath of it all. Then he had to comfort her after he came to check on her. Not to be nice of course. He originally stopped by just to see what kind of information she had. The comforting just happened because he wasn't an a*****e. Thus, they got closer. Perhaps she will be a good source of information again at some point.
Ruby orbs shifted to look out the window--watching the people go about their days. Hopefully, this outing would go well. There was something he wanted to talk to Jae about. He has been working in tidbits of conversation related to what has been happening for a few reasons. One was to see where the guy stood on certain things. It'd be easier if he could get him to agree to help with the cause instead of tricking him. Kaden would also prefer it. Although he hasn't lied to the other, he definitely omitted any damning information about his job. It's not as if he had a cover like some others. He was too busy for that kind of thing.
Stretching out his arms, the male yawned widely. The daylight was bright in his eyes and it was a nice enough day outside. He hadnโt done much in the morning, mostly tended to his plants and did some reading. Jae had thrown on whatever clothes he had lying around. As he walked down the street to the cafe, he contemplated the events that had happened. The past few months went by so fast it was as if they werenโt even real or never actually happened! The male had spent most of his time with Kaden, whom he was meeting today. Some instances were rather.. Strange, foggy in his memories. But he had also met a few new people! Met up with his neighbor, a few other heroes, and otherโs. Jae felt pretty accomplished with his social interactions.
So today he was meeting up with Kaden, again, for whatever reason. Just to hang out, check in on him, make sure he read the books he sent, etc. He soon reached the cafeโs entrance and as he opened the door, the bell chimed letting employeeโs know that he had entered. A waitress was about to show him to a seat, but he informed them he was already meeting someone at the cafe. Blue eyes scanned the room until they rested on the dark-haired male that he recognized. A smile came across his face and he waved over to Kaden, walking over in that direction. โHey there~. Sorry if I kept you waiting long,โ he greeted his friend, sitting down in the chair across from him. He glanced down to the menu for a quick second, knowing he would get coffee and something sweet. Just wasnโt sure what insanely sweet item he would eat yet. Focusing back up on the other male, he leaned back comfortably in the chair. โSo.. You done reading what I sent you yet?โโ He knew for a fact that the boy probably barely even started, but he liked to tease.

Ruby orbs looked up when he heard the chime. It happened every time someone walked in--which was only once before. A smile curled onto his features but he didn't bother to return the wave. "Not at all, I only got here a few moments ago." His gaze went back to the menu. Not really knowing what he wanted. Definitely not something laden with sickening sweet s**t. Jae may have found him some types of candy to like, but they were few and far between.
When the question was asked he looked back up at him. "Do you have to ask that every time when you know I can't possibly read them all that fast? And I find it interesting how you have only given me crafting, cookbooks, and psychology ones." A smirk was threatening to form on his lips. "Makes me wonder if you are trying to mold me into the perfect man. Just for you~" He teased before taking a sip of water he was already given. They were just friends of course, but it was always fun to banter. Kaden leaned back in his seat a bit. "If you must know, I read a chapter of the psychology one. Stuff about mind and behavior might intrigue me. Maybe I can figure out how not to depend on someone's peculiarity to snap out of an out of control state." He was talking about his demon form, but also Jae's full moon self. If the other guy read this kind of stuff why was he still caging himself? Did that mean there was no dealing with it on their own? He could understand his own situation since it happens because of experimentation, but Jae's was natural. It would seem unfair. "I tried a craft and recipe as well. Maybe because I was bored one day. Actually had some free time." He laughed lightly. "Have you finished the books you got last time?"
After book talk, which he never thought would be a thing for him, there was a slight lull in the conversation. That's when he truly took in the other's appearance. "Why are your clothes falling off? Did you get the wrong size or are you trying to be sexy?" He definitely said in a teasing tone. A smirk appeared on his face.
xxxThe last past few months have been treating well for Sean. The young gender bender was getting more and more regulars in the cafe which was good. Sean enjoyed seeing reoccurring faces coming into the cafe. He was able to get to know more people who lived in this city and even was able to meet people who he could call his friend. It was really nice, having people he knew that he would see again and could talk to. He had staff members like Haruki who he could talk to but it was nice to have new faces to see and talk to. Besides, Haruki was now a student so he was not here as often. One of those people Sean would keep seeing not here but in the back garden was Kaden. The two would talk out back in the garden for hours just simply enjoying ones company and maybe even teased each one another. Sean had only been female around him though and did not know the Sean was a gender bender. Sean often wondered how Kaden would take it if the truth came out. Would Kaden be fine with it and things would be the same if Sean was male or female? Or would Sean lose a friend?
The cafe owner was cleaning the counter when the bell rang at the door. He was about to welcome whoever the customer was but when he looked up he saw none other then Kaden! Quickly, Sean went to hide in the kitchen so that he was not seen. Kaden had met male Sean before but Kaden had not put that male Sean and female Sean are the same person so Sean tried to have little conversation with Kaden while he was in his male form. Sean watched the man be seated and wondered what he was doing here. Was he looking for female Sean? His heart skipped a beat at the thought.
Then another came into the cafe. Sean had seen this man come in from time to time into the cafe but he did not know really who he was. Seans eyes left man and went back to Kaden but to his surprise, the man walked to Kadens table and sat down with him! They knew each other? He did not remember Kaden ever bringing him up. Who was he? What were they talking about? The young adult did not know why he was so curious and worried what they were talking about but he had to know! When the waitress came back Sean said he would take care of their order as he wanted to know who this guy was to Kaden.
Taking in a deep breath, Sean walked over to the table, notebook in hand. Maybe they were just friends? Yeah, friends thats it! Kaden was a friendly guy after all so he must have loads of friends! When Sean got to the table he was about to greet them and ask for their order when he heard the last bit of Kadens comment to the other male. Sexy? This guy was trying to be sexy? and that smirk! " C-Can I take your order?" Something wasn't right hereโฆ Why did Sean feel slightly annoyed?

He laughed loudly when the other answered regarding his book question. It was answer he already knew, but it still amused him. โOf course I do! How else will you be reminded to read them?โ The male shook his head and continued to be cheeky. โNo single soul would be able to mold you, and that I know for a fact!โ Lesson was learned long ago from certain instances. Kaden was not a man of adaptation. The Jade Rabbit was going to look at the menu again, but perked up when Kaden continued to talk about the books he had received. It was refreshing to hear, mostly because Jae wanted someone he could have intelligent conversations with. Thinking back on which book the other was talking about, it was something about mindfulness and the subconscious exploring with Jungโs theories. Jae knew what he was getting at- their โotherโ forms. โThatโs an interesting thought, but.. Iโm not quite sure it works like that.โ
โOh dude- I finished those long ago!โ He chuckled. Jae was a relatively fast reader, doing so whenever he had the free time or wasnโt at the bar. Something he wasnโt expecting, though he should have, was the comment on his appearance. โWhy, is it working~?โ The man grinned, giving a tease back. โNo, I accidentally stretched out the shirt, but I still like it and can wear it. I donโt really care if it falls off.โ It was then when he noticed the server, and owner, walk over to their table. That was some kind of special treatment for the owner to personally take their orders, at least what he was thinking. Jae didnโt actually know the guy very well, just that he owned the place. โCan I just get a latte for now, please?โ He ordered with a smile. In the back of his mind, he wondered why the blue-haired male seemed to be wavering. Anxious person?

"You have such little faith in me." The corner of his lip curled up when the other mentioned how he can't be molded. It was true, but anyone could be influenced. The perking up of the other when he talked about the books made a smile form on his face. "Are you sure about that? The mind is a powerful thing and there are tons of studies which deal with how peculiarities add something to the equation. How it is woven into our very being. Science is a complex subject. To not even look into every possibility when it could help seems like a waste." He didn't intend to get so deep so soon, but he went with it a bit longer. "That reminds me," he leaned forward and lowered his voice a bit, "have you heard the rumors about how the government has their hands in unethical human experiments?" He said it in a tone of disbelief so it wasn't too heavy. Rumors weren't always true after all. It was a bit of a bomb to drop before the conversation eventually switched to the other books and what he was wearing. It just didn't seem like the best topic to be on when someone was coming to take their order.
"Maybe~" He teased back before the other told him the real reason his top didn't really appear to fit. Kaden didn't get to respond, however. His ruby orbs shifting to look at someone he has seen before--maybe once. Still looked really familiar though. It was kind of weird. He let his companion order first. Then waited to be addressed before speaking. "Yeah, may I get a coffee and the club sandwich?" After the man responded he uttered the next bit. "Thanks."

xxxTheyโฆ They were totally flirting with one another! Just who was this person to Kaden? Sean didn't know why but it felt as if his heart was slowly getting heavier the more he watched them or listened to them. Maybe Kaden was flirty to everyone? The blue haired man waited for they two to stop flirting with one another before he wrote down their order. Maybeโฆ These two were on a date? People often came here on a date as many have told the owner before it was the perfect date spot. The idea bothered him but why? Why would Kaden on a date bother him so much? " One latteโฆ. Coffee and a club sandwich. Alright I will get your drinks for you. Please enjoy yourselves on this date while you wait." That last bit came out a bit saltier then he wanted it to. He gave them a nervous chuckle, his smile twitching slightly before he went back behind the counter to get their drinks.
" Sean you can't be acting like that! They might not even be on a date! Kaden is just overly friendly thats all!" It surprised him a little that he acted like that just now. What did it matter that Kaden was here with someone else? It wasn't like he brought this guy to the back garden. That idea made the young owner drop a coffee cup. Quickly, Sean got a broom and cleaned up the mess he had made before he started to get back to work on the late as the coffee pot brewed. Glancing up at the two across the room, Sean gave a frown as he watched them and was not paying attention to what he was doing and the latte cup started to overflow. A waitress had to let the owner know what he was doing for him to snap out of it and look down at the over flowing latte cup. This wasn't going well at allโฆ The waitress offered to take over but Sean told her that he was fine and could do it as he once again cleaned up his mess and started again.

His friend asked a very peculiar question before the waiter came over to take their order. After Jae had ordered his coffee, he contemplated the thought in his mind. He was going to give his take on it after the blue-haired waiter was gone, but just before he left him- something unexpected was said. And not in a very nice tone. โAww~ Kaden, you didnโt tell me this was a date!โ he turned to look back at his friend, as if in disbelief. Then laughed at his own joke. โI wonder whatโs got him in a twist? Jealousy?โ He chuckled and shook his head, returning back to the subject before. โBut no- I havenโt heard of any such rumors. Where did you hear such a thing?โ He asked curiously. Rumors were rumors after all, but this was about something serious. If the press got wind of something like that, the system would act a little chaotic.
Before his thoughts could go anywhere else, he got distracted by the sound of something breaking. Blue eyes glanced over to behind the counter where the owner was supposedly cleaning up whatever he dropped. โAnyway.. Is there anything else behind this rumor or is it just that?โ

Date? He could understand how someone might think such a thing when they were bantering as they did, but the way it was said was off. Followed by the chuckle and awkward smile. Red eyes watched the server walk away until Jae joked about it. A grin spread across his face. "You would never come if I did," he said the first bit lightheartedly before switching to a slightly deeper almost serious tone, "you're afraid of commitment." Then he went right back to being lighthearted when the jealousy was brought up. Red orbs glancing over to the server for a brief moment. "Maybe. If it's jealousy, he has to have the hots for you because this is the second time I've seen him." It didn't make sense to get upset over a date if you never had a real conversation after all.
He leaned forward again, not a crazy amount, and lowered his voice. "Well, you know about the Orphanage." Everyone would have heard about the massacre by now. It was old news even--since it happened a few months ago. The only information which might have changed since the story first broke was how the headmistress was under arrest and how it was related to fabricating evidence. "I heard there is an investigation going on related to child trafficking. And I never told you this before, but the place we go during the full moon...used to be a secret lab." He had assumed Jae didn't notice anything besides rubble because he was either in violent horny mode or just tired from the nights events when it was time to head back in the morning. It wasn't as if the human bones were definitely in plain sight, however. Kaden wasn't about to point it out either. It wasn't something he wanted to explain. Now, he might have to. Why would he not only know about the ruins but what they used to be? Anyone would probably find it odd. It wasn't his intention to take Jae there to frolic around either. The place was the only one he could think of which would give them the freedom they needed without picking some random wooded area in the mountains.
The more serious conversation continued until Kaden noticed the server coming back. It was time to go back to something more lighthearted, but all he could think about was the odd jealous like incident which happened when he left. The fire user leaned back in his chair to get more comfortable again "How about we go to a movie after this?" He brought it up because they were apparently on a date according to the server at least. It was the only thing he could think of at the time. "Ah, maybe it is too early in the day for that. I'm not opposed to spending all day with you..." he said the latter part in a tone which implied the words were obvious and probably didn't need to be uttered. Whether someone would take it as a sign of affection or not was another story. "So we can watch one later tonight." He gave Jae a smile. Kaden wasn't really trying to play up the dating scenario. After all, they could watch a movie as friends. They've hung out for hours in the past. This suggestion would be no different.
xxxSean was a mess today, and it was all thanks to Kaden! Here Kaden was in Seans cafe with someone flirting away! He must be like this with everyone, meaning that that the times he flirted with Sean was nothing. Before Sean would not have cared but nowโฆ It felt like something was stuck in his chest, a feeling Sean had not had in a long time. Letting out a sigh, Sean put the latte on the surveying tray along with a empty cup and the freshly brewed coffee that was a little to strong as Sean was not totally focused on what he was doing. Even the little pattern that Sean always did on in the late was off. This was not like him as everything he did in this cafe was art, perfection. Picking up the tray, the gender bender started walking over back to the two with their drinks. As he got closer Sean noticed the two talking and he could hear them talking about going to a movie. Oh, so not only were they going to go on a cafe date but now a movie date?
Sean aggressively placed the tray down at the table and gave the two his annoyed slime with nervous laugh. " Sorry for the wait you two. Here are your drinks. The sandwich is coming up next." Picking up the latte, he placed it in front of Jae before putting the empty cup in front of Kaden, making a loud bang as the cup hit the table. " Any plans after this coffee date hmmm?" The owner asked as he started to pour the coffee. " My, you two must have known each other for a while huh?" Another nervous laugh came from the owner before the coffee cup was over flowing and getting all over the place. " Oh!" Sean pulled the pot away from the cup which lead to him spilling a little on Kaden.
