Even as Owen was beginning to consider giving up on the games all together, he found his gaze swinging back to the goldfish toss one more time. He knew the game was a ripoff, didn't really have the best setup at home to take care of a goldfish even if he won, and knew that his luck had been turning against him in everything for a little while now. Realistically, he should stop trying while he was behind, and let the poor fish live or die under someone else's (probably awful) care.
But he didn't do that - no, he bought another chance, and while his first two attempts did no good, he surprised himself by actually getting a ball into a bowl. Well - well then, okay, it looked like he had a fish to try and keep alive, now. And he was definitely going to do his best to do just that.

Still he only had two bagged gold fish sitting next to him...maybe he'd keep them anyway? They were already sitting here bagged...it would be wrong to give their little hopes of a home up - right? As if goldfish had feelings...but he was sure they did...right? Or really he was just imposing his own feelings onto them...making them more human. He did that, rather often, with things and he knew it but it was something he couldn't break himself from doing. And he couldn't let these poor goldfish think they had a home only to dump them into their bowls again to be won by other people.
With guilt gnawing at him he paid for more balls and tossed the ping pong balls. Maybe a third fish for him, and a friend for them.

Carefully setting the two fish she'd already won to the side, Nimue accepted the three balls and once more stepped up to the table. Quickly tossing the balls, she let out a loud SQUEE as two of the balls landed in winning bowls, while the third came so close.
Accepted two more cute goldfish, Nimue was aware that she could trade for a koi now. Hrmm... something she'd have to think about. But for now, she was content to take her fish and go find a shady spot to relax in.

When kelly gave nadia the fish her heart melted a little. "That was very nice of you." giving her balls another throw she ended up missing all three.

Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy "Hiya!" Evren yelled on her turn as she threw the ping pong balls. Only to give a sigh of defeat when none of them entered in any fish bowls. Puckering her lips as it seems she wasn't freeing any fish this round. "Yah!" The sounds Evren made were way to over dramatic as she just threw all the balls at once instead of one at a time like a normal person. This time she was lucky enough to get one into one of the bowls. She smiled as she was handed a goldfish. Evren stared blankly. "Unfortunately, Sir Buttonwood one of you does not a rescue mission make... I must win more so we may release you a proper tank because it's not a good idea to just randomly throw fish into a river." Evren threw all the balls and none of them went into any. Letting out a breath of air her bangs. Holding the goldfish closer to her chest she squinted. "We're going to win another friend Sir Buttonwood... or go broke trying." It seemed Evren was determined to go through with operation save the fish and put them in a bigger tank. Evren once again threw the balls into the bowls. And this time she managed to get another ball in one of the bowls. With a smile, she took the goldfish handed to her. "Alright with Sir Buttonwood and Lady Evalyn and together we shall collect even more fish!" Yes, she was just beginning on her crusade to free these fish. With a huff, Evren managed to miss all the bowls she was aiming for this round of throws. Holding onto the bags that held the goldfish she decided to back away from the game and get some snacks before coming back to try and get some more fish. Evren returning to the ball toss with goldfish in hand. Placing them down on the corner she looked determined as she was handed another three balls. This time she decided to throw each one at a time. Of course though each time she missed puckering her lips she sighed and picked up her fish to go wait her turn for her next throws.

...Kes was losing.
Still, people around her were winning fish, and the girl took a deep sigh. She had to focus,concentraste, and work hard. She really, really wanted a fish now; to save, to love...
And they were STUPIDLY pretty, and so the woman tossed again, wincing.

He'd already (potentially) rescued one fish - Owen wouldn't count it a rescue until he knew if it'd survive the week - so why not two? Unfortunately, it seemed like his bad aim was striking again, because once more not a single throw managed to land where he wanted it to.

Giggling in excitement she gladly took the fish. "maybe we can get three so we can get a koi!" She said hoping to trade up if they were able to. Throwing the balls again she didn't get any.

Wanting another fish, even if it was a goldfish, Xi-Wang paid once again for more ping pong balls. This really was getting a bit out of hand he thought....though he also knew he wouldn't be stopping anytime soon. He had, perhaps, become a bit obsessed with this game and the idea of wining something...of going home with some pretty fish for himself. Never mind that he'd need to get a bowl and filter and other things for them - he'd do that. But he would have something that he'd won...not bought but won.
With more ping pong balls in hand he threw them gently, aiming for the bowls.

Finally, Marta obtained her third fish! Grinning widely, she arranged the fish bags carefully and eyeballed the koi prize. It was a poor choice, but koi were so pretty...

A fish! And Kes lit up, standing uporight a moment to collect the small silver and gold fish gently, the animal swimming in surprise before watching her. It was flecked in black on it's back, and Kestrel all but cooed at the spottiness, carefully placing her new friend in a safe spot next to her.
"I'm naming you Sprinkles." Kes said, voice gentle. "And we're buying you the best home so you're never scared or uncomfy again, but first, friends. Then maybe food. You shouldn't be alone, Sprinkles."
Kes nodded, turning to the attendant before handing over more money. Time to try again!
