Danaë took a deep breathe. As the only non-flying avian faunus at this school, she was worried. The others had so much practice, and they could actually dodge out of the way of projectiles, but Danae was going to be flying with no wings. It was time to do it. She felt something slimy touch her leg. She had to focus on the Mantacore that they were about to take down. She would jump up, feeling the hammer hit the bottom of her heels. It sent pain through her body, she probably would have shattered her heels if her Aura wasn't protecting them.
Through the air she flew. This was not like typical flying though. She had tried it with her brother once or twice. However, she was flying in the air like a rocket. Except Rockets had parachutes. She was on her own. The men on her team had done what they could to get her up there. She felt something slimy and wet crawling up her body. It felt weird, She didn't have time to look down though. The Mantacore shot 2 balls of flame at the ball of feathers and blood. Her feathers did one thing that most of the other birds couldn't do. The fimbriae on her feather bringing the normally harsh sound to a semi silent scream. She would burst through the first fireball, the smell of charred feathers hitting her nose. The second one, she would have to also go through as well, but this time, she would put her arms out to the side, almost cutting through it. She was also trying to slow down as she didn't want to overshoot it.
Finally, she was high enough, but the bird came after her. It would fire another fireball at her, which she would try to cut through. It singed her feathers even more. Her light brown aura would flicker, showing that she was out of it. So much for that idea. Then the beast would clamp onto her left shoulder, Crushing her collar bone, and parts of her shoulder. She would scream in pain and anger. She would then attempt to stab it with Hatred's Bite in her right hand. Nightkiss would leave her left hand as she lost her ability to grip anything in her left hand. Clattering to the ground. She hoped that she got it in the eye, otherwise, her return to the ground would be a messy one.

Tessa screamed as her back exploded in pain and her world was enveloped for a few brief moments by the orange light of the fire that struck her. The enormous faunus staggered, clumsily reaching around to feel for the weapon she thought was embedded in her back before falling over. She was in a daze for a moment, the burning sensation licking at her back and a gust blowing over her as she came to, slowly getting to her feet and patting at the places she still felt burned. Tessa inhaled deep, then exhaled, breathing heavily as she bared her teeth. She was in pain, powering through it with adrenaline, but more than that she was angry. Something hit her, it was probably a grimm, she didnt know which one but all she could think about that dammed bug and how it needed to die. It needed to die. It needed to die. It needed to die. It needed to DIE! She then proceesed to roar with both weapons held out in front of her and fired shells one after the other at the lancer

Tessas sprint become somewhat more awkward looking as she took longer strides, breaking into a rapid trot before aiming both her weapons straight at the ground and detonating both shells in their chamber as her powerful legs pushed her off the ground. The force of the double explosions and Tessas own strength carried her into the air, coming up to the side of the Lancer with her arms outstretched, claws poised to sink into whatever part of the bug she could get and anger flashing in her eyes.

So, we are going to rewind this post, because time and time again, we have told you that it is not possible to do what you are doing with your weapon. If you do not change your post, then you will receive a strike.

Adam faltered as the bird flapped its wings making him unable to get any closer. Aam stood his ground as best as he could and endured the gust for the most part. Bottoms of his shoes screeching to keep him in place as he couldn't help but smile. "You're too far for me to punch, But I know bullets work!" he said setting his gauntlets to semi-auto fire. He wanted short controlled bursts for the next firing session. Adams body could feel the power of its screech within his body. "Pssh! You call that noise? Try living with Scylla." he joked as his ears rung. The Nevermore readied itself for an attack. Adam got into a low stance ready to take any defensive maneuvers necessary. It readied its talons and was ready to crush the two boys flat or rip them to pieces. That was until a loud crack was heard and the bird and stopped the attack. The bullet could've only come from their guardian angel Azura. That's our girl. Adam raised his eyebrow as it seemed the bird was confused. He didn't put anymore thought into it before he started to act. Just before he began to fire the bird descended a reasonable distance. It pulled its wings back and made it rain feathers that could pierce rock. "Whoa!" he thought as he dodged the feathers. With his reflexes it wasn't too difficult but he was clipped a bit causing him to wince for a second. Adam smiled as the bird made a grave mistake. It made itself reachable. As the bird swooped down with another heaven piercing screech. Its eyes still searching for its prey, Adam ran at it head-on and grabbed onto its ankle before it ascended. "Adam, if you have a secret flying ability now is the time to use it!" he thought to himself. If Adam was successful at grabbing on he would climb his way to the creatures back. Adam would steadily make his way to where the wing connects to the shoulder. Adam would change his left hand to automatic fire and place it where the wing connects. He'd keep a grip onto it with his right and released an onslaught of point-blank range gunfire. He'd swap off and grip with his left hand and land heavy-handed punches in the same spot where his bullets would have connected. He'd continue his patterns over nd over until he was either shaken off or progress was made.

Narx took a long moment to regain his balance after launching Danaë. Richard was a good help. Definitely got some additional air there. His eyes scanned the air and found her. Danaë. Something was wrong though. She was a dark red color? Was it blood? Had him and Richard swung the weapon to hard and injured her? Worry struck him still for a moment, but then he saw her moving naturally. She was fine. It had to be something else. He looked over and could see the new guy. Chase he believed was his name; concentrating. Maybe it had something to do with him. Then he felt it. The heat. He quickly dived to the side pushing Richard down as well as the fireballs slammed into the ground. One of them was closer than he thought. He felt the heat rip through his left pant leg and singe his skin. These were new pants. What a drag. His skin had no hair on that leg now. It was a deep red. As if he had laid out in the sun for too long. He had gotten lucky and needed to stop letting himself get distracted. If the beast hadn't been so high in the sky he would have taken major damage. His eyes quickly turned upwards when he heard the beast growl before it fearlessly dived towards Danaë. To make it worse it was prepared a large fireball just for her. This was bad. "Danaë! MOVE!!!" He shouted as loud as he could, but the chances of her hearing him were slim. She would be fully focused on her attack, and her ability to fly was a bit unknown to him. "You can do this!!"He screamed just as she pierced the last fireball, but then it happened. It was like watching a nightmare unfold before his very eyes. The beast latched onto her with its massive jaws. He winced in pain."NOO!"He shouted as he started sprinting towards the beast. It had her in its jaws which gave him time to cross the field and position himself under it. Giving him the best chance to catch her. As long as she wasn't tossed a great distance."Please drop..."He pleaded. Narx felt sick. What if it ate her? What then? He wouldn't be able to live with himself having tossed her up to her death. He needed to do something and he needed to do something now. He lifted his hammer. It usually weighed heavily in his arms but it felt like a pencil currently. His muscled rippled under his shirt and vest as he lifted the hammer up. Fury in his eyes. He roared so loud that it would match the growl of the manticore if not top it as he slung the crawlin down."MMROOOOOAAARRRRRRRR!!!!!"He would use one of his most powerful moves. The shockwave. His hammer smashed into the field. The sound of thunder cracked the earth open, violently splitting it 20 feet out sending a shockwave at the beast. It wouldn't be enough to quite knock it out of the air, but it would likely cause it to topple over and lose its grip on Danaë which is all he wanted. He had two more shockwaves if he needed it but then he would be high and dry with the Crawlin's aura storage... He stood there waiting. He thought this was going to be fun, but things went south real quick. No matter what happened be would bash this grimm's brains out. It wouldn't survive this. That was for sure.

That she made her own cloths was a surprise. That Koryn cared more about having the garment destroyed than being exposed was also a surprise though admittedly not as large of one. Koryn just didn't seem the type to let anything bother her. Eira giggled at Koryn's nonchalant reply to her question. "I don't think that would actually happen... Though I can't say I have tested it either." Eira replied skeptically. Muttering the last bit after a seconds pause.
After successfully pulling Koryn clear of the fireball Eira looked around to check her surroundings. Judging based on the look the other girl had it seemed that she did not like fire much at all. More concerning was the firey woosh as the burning shot hit Tessa and engulfed her back in spreading flames. Koryn swooped over to try and help her. Eira was tempted to tell her that fanning the embers like that is probably having the opposite effect. She didn't though given Koryn didn't do it long before taking off up into the air after being given some orders from their leader and Eira had to reply beck to her as well. "Yeah we're still 110% as you can see." Eira reported while watching Koryn climb. Her hands worked without sight to complete the familiar action of loading Gungnir. She pulled two standard rounds of ammo from belt at her waist. Holding them between her first three fingers. They were placed into the cylinder and then she went back to her belt and pulled a round that looked different from the other two. While they looked like the standard brass shell this one had a purple tip and a purple ring around the base. She placed it into the third and final slot of the cylinder and then selected to load that round first causing the cylinder to revolve rapidly for a half second before it snapped to a stop with a click.
Eira completed the task of loading blind thanks to practice but it was still a couple seconds slower than it would be if she looked. The trade off was worth it since it kept her head in the fight. That alone allowed her to keep a careful watch on the lancer and see it perform a buzz by for lack of better description. The bug came zipping up and made a sudden movement to cause the harpoon hanging from its body to swing at her. It would be a hell of a lot easier to deflect that compared to when the bug fired it but Eira opted to not take the chance and open the distance. Jumping back a three time to clear the path of the harpoon while lifting her lance to a firing position.
Koryn's timing was perfect as well. The butterfly faunus came diving down onto the bug. It looked like she made contact though the tip seemed to have glanced off the exoskeleton without digging in. 'Never thought about that before but lancers may actually prove to be more heavily armored than most grimm. Their entire bodies may as well be covered in the boney plates that most grimm just have scattered here and there.' She noted mentally while adjusting the aim of her spear. The lancer was totally invested in Koryn now. It's fight for aeriel dominance had taken most of it attention. Eira carefully lined up her shot against the small agile airborne target. Once she had a beat on it the tips of the lance dropped suddenly and she squeezed off the trigger. Eira was well aware that her weapon didn't even have so much as iron sights and fired from under the arm like this put the shaft to far from the eye to sight down it. So rather than target the bug she target the ground just a few feet beneath it.
Gungnir fired its shot with the roar befitting a truly large caliber cannon. The round exiting the chamber and entering the gap between the two spear blades where it was caught and accelerated by her aura in a system like a mass driver. The round glowed a bright purple and took off at such speed that it drew a line from the tip of the spear to the impact point beneath the lancer. At such a short distance the shell easily arrived before the sound of shot. The round impacting the ground and creating a blast of earthen shrapnel that rocketed up toward the bug. Eira couldn't tell if any actually reached it tough before the purple aura of the dust in the round also rose up and began to spread out across the ground. If one blinked they would of likely missed the the shot, the shell flight, the impact, and the dust activation. Eira was very confident that even if bugs didn't blink it was both too distracted and ultimately incapable to evade such speed at such distances. The real question was if the gravity field that dust round had created would actually grab the lancer and pull it to the earth like it had the earthen shrapnel the shot kicked up? Would the sharp jump in the grimm's body weight over power the lift those thin insect wings could generate?

Richard Vin Malsule A Lancer of PrideX Semblance: Inactive / Weapon State:Stolthet & Plikt (Lance & Shield) -> Rettferdighet (Heavy Mace) / Dust: Unequipped ( 8/8 )
Richard's eye would be set on Danae as she flew through the air. Going straight the manticore it looked like the trajectory was on point. Though he was taken aback by the sudden pillar of blood that shot up from below her. What in the world was that?! Was the first thought that came to the young man's mind. His attention diverted for a second as he looked towards his supposed new teammate. Could it have been that man's semblance? What ever it did, he just hoped it helped with the current situation. He would turn his attention back to the now flying owl who seemed to have gotten the attention of the grimm opponent. In an instant two fire balls shot out towards her and she seemed to cut right through them. It was a ballsy, reckless, and utterly it was how she acted. Still she managed to get to the beast, even though she ended up in its maw of all things.
There wasn't much he could really do from down here on the ground. Richard wasn't proficient with ranged combat or didn't even have ranged weaponry to help with an airborne target. There was one option he had.....no nevermind it wasn't an option. It would straight up hurt of kill his comrade if he were to do such a thing. Narx however didn't think otherwise. He would unless a bolt of aura from his hammer straight up at the beast in an attempt to knock it out of the air. If it would fall, Richard would be ready to pounce on it. Though it was time to not play defensively...this thing needed to go down and down it would go. Taking his lance he would slide it into the shield on his other hand. The shield connected with it and started to transform his weaponry. Within seconds his lance and shield would combine to form a giant two handed mace, Rettferdighet as it was named. Normally in this state, it would be coursing with the dust properties that inhabited it. Today he didn't load his dust into the weapon as he felt it wouldn't be needed. Yet he was ready to bring the pain once the Manticore was near the ground. Plus his aura was in top notch too and his semblance at the ready.

XXXA semblance that manipulated dust in the area around them. That was right, that was their leader's unique ability. To manipulate and utilize dust particles in the environment around them, rather than the common method of utilizing dust to empower existing abilities and weapons. For Nox, the presence of dust created a world of opportunity around her. Cali's head would bob softly, an occasional nod that conveyed her following her captain's words. It seemed that the elemental discharge of a variety of semblances even left her with an opportunity, something that she might be able to utilize through Eli as a continuous supply of lightning dust. A brown gaze behind sandy locks would glance up at the boy once again, remembering far too clearly the event that unfolded in the cafeteria. It was Eli who took charge of the situation and saved the entire team from the rampaging amnesiac, only to sustain a series of injuries himself. ... It, however, was because of Nox's semblance to create a barrier and ability to restrain the boy that she was presented with a rare opportunity to steal the spotlight. At a first glance, such an ability seemed incredibly flexible and adaptatious. It was with Nox's explanation of how heavily it relied on dust that Cali was beginning to piece together. "Y-you know, Nox... I don't get to use my dust often.. My semblance doesn't do well with it, so.. Eli usually carries it.. If.. If you're need some, don't.. don't hesitate to ask, okay..? I'd probably ruin it before it got used..." .. Well, Cali was trying to find some way to contribute and aid her captain. She made it very clear to the team how useful she was, but she relied on a material that may have been scarce from time to time. .. If.. She could somehow help, well.. Sharing was caring, right?
That was when the sun itself decided to blink. Sandy hues both confused and unsettled would peer skywards, fixating on whatever ebony veil shrouded the sun. Those same sandy hues would grow wide in shock, in terror. A grimm so mighty, so fierce, large enough to block out the sun itself was upon them. Defining bird of prey, the gargantuan Nevermore. Soft lips would hang loose, agape in awe as her brown orbs focused on a much smaller creature around the grand avian. It was a griffon, a winged horse with a horsewoman nearly as large as itself riding it around the fearsome bird. Zigzagging left and right, narrowly slipping through the claws of death itself before dismounting in style and offing the grimm. Wasn't a Griffon an intermediate tier? Something not to trifle with? That's what the lessons at Signal said. Yet this woman used it for her own gain, just a pawn to be discarded in a cloud of black dust that'd dissipate in the skies above. In a dance of scarlet threads within a sea of ebony, the woman used some means of a giant hook to straddle the creature into the closest thing one could consider submission which led to a free fall onto the stadium. The grand avian only followed the woman's lead for a moment before beginning to flap and flail in a desperate attempt to reclaim altitude to escape the wrath of gravity itself. In the end, it was all for not as the two came crashing into the rafters of the stadium before the final plummet to the ground below. From such a mighty force an impact would resonate through the stadium. Sandy orbs never left the giant mound of feathers, but her gloved fingers curled tighter into the material of Eli's jacket. It was something he surely felt as her knight pulled her closer, her tiny frame as a whole shrinking behind his as she sunk into his jacket. Curious but worrisome hues would peer from behind him, watching the fallen Nevermore with the utmost caution.
The only sound that broke the silence was a joke, a remark towards Eli about the teacher as she unearthed herself from the mass of black feathers. "Two grimm... at least one hundred seats... an entire balcony.." Delicate fingers would tug at Eli's jacket, trying to pull his attention towards her for a moment. At the same time, those sandy orbs would dart from the mound of feathers to Eli, then towards Nox and even little Yenna. ".. She's broken more in two minutes than I have since we came to Beacon." Cali couldn't contain the small smile that followed those words. They were right, Eli was right... As long as this woman was around, it really didn't matter what kind of damaged she caused. In one class, she wasn't supposed to destroy a chair... This was way more intense than a single chair. From beneath the feathers, the goliath of a woman would rise again. While she didn't necessarily stand tall and proud, the fact that she was still standing at all was a feat that surely none of them could manage after taking such a fall. Bloodied and battered, the woman seemed to barely be standing on her own two feet. It was from there that in between her mindless babbling, she introduced herself to in fact be the teacher of this course. It didn't get much farther than that, however. Multiple orbs of burning amber ignited with life once more as the great avian took to the sky, screeching with a mighty voice that would surely rupture their eardrums. With it, it took the teacher only to use her as a ragdoll. That's when the first assignment was given... Team DARK, kill the Nevermore. That's what this really was? The cages already hinted at it, but they were going to directly engage with these things? There would be no rest, not even a moment of time to actually think of the proper way to approach this all. It was then they were exposed to a grimm that Cali had witnessed before, perhaps just shy of the lessons. A Lionlike creature with grand wings, unleashing a powerful roar before crushing a remote beneath its paw an unleashing a burst of flames onto a group of students. With how rapidly everything unfolded, the pit in Cali's chest dropped as any hope of enjoying the course was shattered into a million pieces. At the sight of such a creature with a roar that caused the horrific memories of that night to resurface. The roar of a beast, a predator, just before it could rip their lives away with its fearsome claws. This was Survival Class.
This was absolute chaos. In just a matter of moments, the situation went from a 1 to an 11 in terms of a controlled situation. Assignments were given as the grimm began to swarm the groups of students. It was in that moment that it became clear why this class was called 'Survival Class;' they had to act quickly in order to survive. Cali's anxiety continued to reach new limits, boiling into an intense fear that burned like an inferno against her ribs. It appeared that hew heightened levels of fear did not go unnoticed, likely due to the terror-filled eyes and a body quaking at its very core. A set of sandy orbs focused on the rattling cage in front of them as mechanical locks clicked and whirled. Perhaps the only saving grace in that which kept her from boiling over as feeling Eli's arm tightened around her, a terror-filled gaze catching the determined electric hues of his own. One that eased the pressure in her chest ever so so slightly, akin to letting the team loose on a boiling pot of rice so that it didn't boil over. For just a moment, she could breathe, and that's when their target would slither into existence. A creature that was only second in size to the Nevermore itself, a large King Taijitu. Sandy orbs watched the scaley hide creature begin to slither and circle around them in movements so smooth, unhindered by its grand size. It was those same brown orbs that noticed the vivid crimson of the black head fixated on a rabbit girl who two seemed to be experiencing an overwhelming level of fear much like Cali was. ... Except Yenna was far more vocal with it. The mighty crusader dropped in an instant, turning into a series of complaining about such a creature. ... Wait, did she know that Nox was technically a snake?
As much as the girl wanted to be able to stand on her own two feet, she found herself shrinking more and more into Eli as the grimm continued its approach. The dreaded memories of the past haunting her, the fear of the unknown in the present, all while confronting a grimm for the first time since they were children. ... She froze. She couldn't do anything except for cling to Eli's side desperately, terrified of what was going to happen next. Just like that, it could've all ended. Sandy orbs continued to move, circling with the black head of the creature that continued to slither in closer and closer. There was one detail about this fearsome grimm that she was forgetting, one that could've very well ended it all in that very moment. In a strike so fast, a lunge so powerful, a white head would seize the opportunity to strike at the girl that embodied both fear and anxiety. Cali's brown orbs widened in fear, catching a glimpse of it for only a split second. Not nearly enough time to do anything herself, but to cause her life to flash before her eyes. .. A world so cruel, yet... Still littered with beautiful moments. Her gaze fluttered, blinking in realization that a transparent green force had struck the head away. The same transparent green aura that had shielded her and Eli at the cafeteria, the one that restrained the horned boy. Nox had saved them again, her in particular... She'd have to remember to thank her later.
It wasn't just those words, that tone.. No no, it was the smirk of confidence that curled on his lips that ratted him out in an instant. She'd recognize them anytime, anywhere... It was the same expression that was brewing back at the cafeteria before she got her own idea. "Eli... Don't.. I know... Eli!" From a quiet uncertainty to a loud exclamation as Eli tugged himself away from her, her delicate fingers slipping from the fabric of his jacket. The webs acted against her, nudging her along with Nox and Yenna, though the sandy orbs clearly expressed her worry for the reckless knight. Her heels would click on the ground, wanting to step away from the movement. Not that it mattered, as Eli was already web-slinging himself onto the giant creature. ... Taking a page out of the teacher's book, he was going to ride that thing?! A scorning was coming later, but... Cali couldn't let Eli's chance be wasted, otherwise... He would've put himself in harm's way for no reason. As reluctant as she was, the girl would turn on her heels before hastily stepping after her teammates. Her jacket was barely intact from her decay, but it was just enough to touch her teammates without decaying their own wardrobe. Cali would spread her albeit small arm spends to wrap around the two girls, tugging them along as she released an impact blast from her heels following her next step. With both heels releasing a burst, it was enough to give the three of them a hefty push out of the coiling mass of scales. That was if they didn't try to outrun her first. Narrowly escaping through the gap between the coils, Cali would release either of the girls she managed to snatch up in her boost of movement.
Now that the three of them had managed to escape the coiling mess of scales, whether on their own efforts or the help of Cali and Eli, it was time to plan. A worrisome gaze would fall upon the spider boy who managed to straddle the creature with bladed fingers in its flesh with webs ensnaring it. They had to do something. To come up with a plan, and quick. Even with that grin on his face, his expression was growing ever more strained. As strong as the boy was, there was no way he could hold off such a creature for so long. ".. Ideas.. Ideas?" Talking was important, talking was an aspect Cali still had to get used to with others aside from Eli. If it was just the two, they may have already divided and conquered if the foe was less fearsome. Sandy orbs would dart between the two, before crouching down herself in preparation to kick off. "I'm.. I'm going to focus on weakening it... That's what my decay can do.." A ominous black veil of aura would shimmer around her, preparing her for the worst that could come. As it shimmered, the remains of her jacket and skirt would crumble to dust around her. At the same time, the aura would channel around the clip of ammo in her heels, imbuing them with the decaying presence of her aura. "I'm.. also worried about that white head.. He's pulling it from us, not keeping it from him. I think.. I'm gonna try going for it.. I.. I've got the mobility." All things considered, it was the most advantageous option for them. If Cali could manage to take out the white head while it was restrained, then they'd only have to deal with the black one. It was also the most threatening to his immediate person... However, this wasn't like the cafeteria. At the cafeteria, she eliminated a far-off threat. It wasn't like the other grimm here as well. ... It was different, they were fighting two in one. Here they needed team collaboration. She couldn't just launch herself into the fray and hope for the best like Eli did, it would just endanger them all even more. They needed both Yenna and Nox in for this one. Operate as a team, and follow a lead. "Th..that's what I can do.. Nox.. We need to hurry." Even though seconds have only passed, her concern for the boy was continuing to grow.
She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"Dammit." The curse slipped through gritted teeth, hardly audible in the chaos that rung through the overcrowded arena. With a flap of magnificent wings the creature was zooming back into the air, carrying the beast significantly out of her own range. Both that of her semblance as well as her weapon. Even if she were to transform the twin blades into dual pistols, it wouldn't do her much of any good at this distance. They wouldn't have the same impact that Azura's sniper did. Instead, the raven haired girl stood back, golden eyes locked on her target as it carved through the air. Never flinching, even as another blood-curdling screech pierced the air, she watched as it began swooping downwards towards Azura. For a moment she looked concerned, such a large creature launching itself beaks first at a single member of her team, but before there could be any detrimental damage, the thing pulled itself to a quick stop, hovering above the ground. It almost looked confused and Ridley knew exactly what that meant. Azura had succeeded in casting the illusion around it. A small smile flickered upon her lips as she glanced towards her her. "You've stunned the beast. Nice one!" Without skipping a beat, the golden eyed huntress sprinted forward. An opportunity had presented itself and she wasn't about to let it pass without acting. It was in a blur of black and gold that the girl raced straight for the nevermore. Even as the onslaught of sharpened feathers assaulted the team, the girl didn't back down. She had her eye on the prize and didn't so much ad blink, even as the projectiles slashed through the pale flesh of her cheek before her arms flew up to take the rest of the damage. Streaks of red marked her body, but nothing particularly serious. Despite the scarlet that oozed from them, it could be imagined concern towards them would be met with a signature Ridley smirk and if course a sarcastic comment to follow. Besides, in her lifetime she has been through much worse. Compared to the pain she'd just been reliving, these were nothing but scratches.
Once she was close enough Ridley would spring into a leap, both blades held out in front if her as she jumped towards the beast. Sharpened metal would crash down upon ebony feathers as she looked to puncture the creature and secure her ride. If successful, she would co tune slashing and stabbing her way right onto it's back. It seemed she wasn't the only one with plans to take the nevermore for a ride, but she wasn't surprised either. Both her and Adam needed to be close to their targets to use their semblances. "Fancy meeting you here." She would tease, flashing him a quick smirk before getting back to business. The goal was to incapacitate it before it managed to soar much higher. After all, if they took it down while it was too far up, she and Adam would be faced with the fall back to the ground and she highly doubted they would come out of it alive. Even their goliath of a teacher hadn't come out completely unscathed and she had a rising suspicion that woman held a shocking amount of durability. Surviving a fall like that she must have. Where as, she and Adam were much more squishy. Golden orbs would flutter shut once more, long lashes brushing against her cheeks. Forehead creased slightly in concentration, she would once again focus her aura. A slight golden hue would surround her as she traveled back to that day she had fallen from the tree. Once again she would ringing the pain of shattered bones, the sharp agony that beseeched her as the sharp winds if broken bones punctured through the skin of her arm in a splatter if crimson. Over and over she would run the memory through her mind until she was not only seeing it, but feeling it with in herself. It was at that precise moment that her eyes would flash open, gleaming as they landed on the back if the creatures head. Clutching to the creature with all her might to avoid being thrown off, she would transfer her own pain to the beast. Making her memory it's own in a phantom pain that surely rivaled any other, a feat only Ridley was truly capable of.

XXXThe team was completely surrounded by the beast's coils which only tightened with every second. The snake's body was so large that nobody could easily see over it. Muscles rippled under its elongated body as it slithered in a circle around them. The beast seemed to take care and not to slow down too much. The beast's pale face had lashed towards the most distressed member only to have its head cocked back in pain from Nox's hammer. It hissed in pain, and in anger as its head twisted back now on Nox. Furious.
The magnificent beast wasn't a novice at the game of death. It had only managed to reach this size due to its long lifespan. It had gained advanced knowledge over the years about the strength and unpredictable abilities of humans and faunus alike. While the white side glared Nox down the black one pulled back slightly. Scanning the group and looking for the weak points but before it could react something happened that it wasn't used to. The group was making their way towards the gap. The snake left the gap open as a trap though. Its white fangs descended upon the at lightning speed but something happened that it could not have predicted. The three girls launched out of the gap with a sudden burst. The snake retreated, but then felt the piercing of blades as the fourth jumped onto its body. This was an unusual technique. The snake writhed and shook its body with intense force. It would take literally everything the boy had in him to hold on if he chose to.
The black fangs turned towards the group of three that had just escaped. It hissed as it took a defensive stance. Its body was moving too much to amount an attack, but it could defend its other half. It started to coil itself in a new fashion. It would place the bulk of its body between the group of three and its white face which was writhing vigorously to get Eli off of it. In order to attack either of the faces one would have to either run a long distance around the snake first, or jump up on top of its body and jump from each section of its coil. Either way it would give the black fangs enough time to defend itself if not played correctly. Drool slumped over the edge of its mouth as it hissed once again at the group of ladies. Eli could be seen behind it being flung in all sorts of directions as he desperately held on.

___ The first point of worry was of course Eli. The spider knight's response to her warning to exercise some caution was not ideal. Now that the grimm were all free that look in his eye did not bode well. Cali's response said as much. That girl was well used to his antics and it looked to Nox that she was already working out how she would scold him this time. Nox sighed softly as her gaze checked the other group's fights for a split second before answering Ele "Yeah if we dont all die." Back full circle to her original concern. Honestly, did Rachel have any concept of what a safety margin was? Regardless it was do or die now and thus there was no time like the present to learn to survive. Their lives literally depended on it.
___ As their foe came Yenna started to declare her challenge and what Nox assumed was intent to defend against the grimm. If she meant to declare that she would safe guard her allies against its assaults Yenna didn't get that far into her declaration. Instead her words trailed off into complaints and distress that everyone could pick up on over the fact that it just had to be a snake. Nox had a facial expression that seemed to say 'I seriously wonder sometimes if she doesn't know about me...' Maybe Yenna just focused on her humanoid appearance to largely ignore the reptilian features. Or maybe it was because Nox didn't slither around on her stomach or do that tongue thing... Either way the King Taijitu came. Her planned defense seemed to have worked out as intended. The white head came for Cali and received a fierce bashing to the side of the skull. The impact knocking the white head away in a whiplash inducing movement. The head just sprang right back and fixed an angry glare upon Nox.
___ As expected earlier Eli managed to find a way to give them all reason to worry about him. To get them out of this encirclement he pushed all three of the girls towards an opening and then went to the snake rodeo. Nox couldn't help but watch, completely dumbfounded by his brazen actions. The King Taijitu definitely did not seem to expect what Eli was doing and it had worked as he wanted it to, but still that was probably a little too reckless. They could probably blame Rachel for this for giving Eli weird ideas. Cali grabbed hold of the her and Yenna about then and used the heels in her shoes to rocket them out of the encirclement. With them away from that spot the King Taijitu backed off to take a more defensive stance. The one head trying to focus on keeping the girls away while the other tried to buck Eli off it's back.
___ Cali was calling for ideas. Nox had one in mind and started on making preparations. Her right hand going to her thigh to pull out a vial she had in one of the small storage pouches there. The dust within was a pale blue color. Her thumb popped the cap off and she swung her arm to throw the contents out into the air beside her. Cali was already getting into a stance like what a runner takes at the start of a race. She had the speed to get in close and try to get around the grimm. Use her semblance to weaken it by decaying it's body. Nox looked from Cali to Yenna. "Hit it with ice if you can. Besides the damage from the attacks the cold should slow it down and even threaten to kill it. It's a snake after all." Cali had just said the Eli has her dust since she can't exactly carry it around, but Yenna should have some and could help out with putting their foe into a deep freeze. All the while Nox's semblance was at work with the dust she had just thrown out to use. A lance of solid ice eight inches thick and nearly five feet long had rapidly begun to crystallize in the air beside Nox. The moment the spire of crystal was ready Nox thrust her arm and hand forward as if throwing it herself. The action paired with the sudden burst of speed of the ice spear. The frozen projectile hurling at high speed towards the center of mass of the King Taijitu. If the spear embedded itself in flesh it should cause a very nasty and deep injury, but more importantly expose the surrounding flesh and blood to direct thermal contact to the freezing cold object. The chilled blood not spilled would then circulate that could throughout the King Taijitu's body and begin to hinder it's metabolism until it's movements become sluggish. They'd be right lucky in the easy lane if it got so bad the thing falls asleep.
XXXThe ball of feathers had been far more ambitious than the Manticore had given it credit for. While the fearsome creature did not hinder in its assault, the fact that such a small creature could endure so much. It was admirable but foolish. The aroma of singed feathers burned the nasal cavity of the beast once it was in striking range. The lingering embers caused the creature's mouth to feel quite toasty as its mighty jaw clenched down on the girl, its teeth piercing her skin effortlessly as an arrange of bones shattered like glass. Oddly enough, it was certain that it could taste blood before breaking skin. It was over before it even began, or so the creature thought. Wings would spread wide to act as a parachute, trying to keep its altitude the moment it secured its screaming prey. The taste of blood was intoxicating. As its jaw crunched down harder and harder, it made its own error in thinking that the avian faunus didn't have something up its sleeve. Just like that, one of the burning yellow orbs went dark like a knife much like its own eye color was plunged deep within its skull. It couldn't stop itself, it had to roar; to howl in pain. Mighty jaws would loosen to let the bird girl drop as it howled in agony, its wings beating rapidly in order to try and regain control as its body was thrown into a panic. In a blind rage, the creature would catch but a glimpse of the falling avian girl. In a last attempt to snatch its prey, the scorpion tail that hung behind it would lash out in a speedy strike. While it tried to stretch and strike the girl, it was thanks to the effort of those below, it wouldn't get such a privilege.
Following the hellish colored blade being plunged deep within its eye socket, a powerful updraft would slam against its wings from below. It was the efforts of Narx in releasing a shockwave that managed to disrupt the already irregular flight pattern of the manticore who was already desperate in trying to regain itself. With the wings knocked up for a moment and half its world going black, the creature would begin to plummet in a downwards spiral directly towards the ground. Roaring the entire way down, the Manticore managed to get a gust of wind beneath its wings just before slamming into the ground below. Albeit just a moment too late. An impact that followed with a series of sickening cracks that all around it were sure to hear. A series of cracks and breaks throbbed throughout the creature's body. Its right wing hung limp, its right front leg absurdly contorted That, however, didn't stop it from attempting to rise to its feet again. Clearly struggling, the creature would stagger as it rose to its feet once again. With a single glowing eye, a limp wing and leg, it was clear the creature was on its last legs... That, however, didn't stop it from fighting. With the eye out of commission, it could only see so much. Narx and Danae, they were in its blindspot. However, the other two were a-game for the creature. With a deep growl rumbling in the back of its throat, the creature would c**k its head towards Chase once again to let out one last fireball in his direction. Something about that masked man just seemed to annoy the creature. Then, its attention was focused on Richard, the man cladded in armor. The growl shifting to a roar, the creature would crouch back before using its mighty legs to pounce towards the armored man. While its movements were sluggish; pained, even. It would still muster the strength for such a feat. While it couldn't very well strike with its only front leg, it was ready to use its jaws and spiked head to tear into the metal and hopefully flesh. Behind it, the scorpion tail would rear up before striking down at him as well, aimed directly towards his face. This gave the man two assailants to be fearful of.

Azura Knight
Azura allowed herself a small smile of satisfaction, both because she had managed to injure the great nevermore, no matter how minor, and because her illusion managed to confuse the great beast. Both Cecil and Ridley praised her work. It dived for the ground, and she hoped this would give her teammates the opportunity to get their strikes in as well. Once Ridley was close enough to use her semblance on the beast it would be all over, or so Azura thought, as both their golden leader and the chipper teammate ran towards the beast to engage. However, things didn't go as planned from there. Razor sharp feathers flew towards the illusion Azura at surprising speed. She tried to have the fake dodge, but luck did not favour her on this day. One of the feathers pierced the chest and when it passed through to the other side the tip touched the symbol on the back the illusion vanished all at once. All of the sounds and sights Azura had been covering would return to the nevermore all at once in what was likely a very confusing moment. It seemed Ridley had equally bad luck in dodging the feathers, as she came out of the storm with several small scratches.
There were several explosions and screams in the arena. The ground vibrated underneath her feet and there was a particularly gut-wrenching cry of sorrow that sounded hardly human. At least one of the other teams was in trouble, yet she knew she couldn't help. Not right now. Their hands were full with the Nevermore. Free from the illusion the giant black bird dived straight for her and Cecil. "This way." She said breathlessly, pulling him off to the left before diving to the ground. But then the creature pulled up, perhaps with two passengers on it's back. "The other teams need help." But Ridley was too far away now, and Azura wasn't sure what to do. Keep working on the Nevermore and trust Professor Anderson had it under control? Run to help them and trust her team had the nevermore under control? At least it seemed like it was cold enough in the arena for Cecil's semblance to work now. Removing her hand from Cecil's she nestled the sniper against her shoulder once more and took aim at the belly of the Nevermore, squeezing the trigger.
OOC: I'm assuming Adam and Ridley either successfully climbed onto the back of the nevermore or missed their ride completely by the time Azura shoots at it. She wouldn't fire if they were still dangling underside for fear of hitting them.
Chase noticed the impact of what remained of the fire balls behind him, having been severely weakened by Danae going straight through all three. 'How tough is that bird?' He wondered to himself. Even dissipated, he could feel the intense heat of the fireballs when they had struck behind him despite having cleared it with his hound. It was likely he was only able to clear it due to her weakening it so much by taking the full force that they slowed down enough for him to escape the radius. So suffice to say, he was surprised the bird was not a smoldering ember...even if her fate may have been worse as she reached the manticore itself. To far to hear her voice amidst the sounds of battle all around them, he would nonetheless notice the manticore begin to bite into her shoulder as the two combatants met in the air. Chase had thought she died there and then after all she had been through, almost seeming like a chewtoy to the manticore. Already, resigned mentally to her having fallen then, his blood would transition to the manticore itself primarily under its jaw and neck. He wasn't sure how much was caught in its mouth, but as long as the blood was on the manticore it would serve his purpose. He did not notice the flash of steel in the sky, or the sudden life from the avian faunus, but he did hear the howl of agony of the creature as it let her go to plummet from the sky. 'Did she survive?' He wondered to himself, glancing at his scattered team briefly. The hungry one seemed to be yelling, and began to build up some type of energy wave that he soon after launched to the manticore. The other was moving to prepare to intercept it as well. 'Meaning...She struck it to cause that shriek of pain.' He thought to himself. Now knowing her plummeting form was a still living being, and that the hungry one was the closest to her. Had he known she yet lived...it may have given him pause, but would have changed little.
Seeing the beast attempt to strike the avian only confirmed Chase's suspicions of her surviving, but he hardly had time to think of it nor did he have anyway to help her at this point. The shock wave the hungry one had sent impacted with the manticore, It seemed to hit just beneath the wings, and send the beast in a downward spiral soon after, meaning his plan of coating its wing in blood was no longer necessary as he left it by its jaw. 'Perhaps he is not as insignificant as I first judged.' Chase thought to himself as he accomplished the goal they were all trying to do. The manticore roared the entire way down, as Chase tried to judge where it would land and be near enough to retaliate but not enough to be crushed beneath it. He drew burial blade from his back, keeping it in his bladed form for now. Just before the beast landed, it let out a large gust of wind to try and slow its fall before it hit the ground with a crash. Chase was almost pushed away by the force of the final gust, and had to brace himself on the ground just so he wasn't knocked back. Hearing the cracks of the beast as it landed, seeing its right wing hanging limp and one of its front legs contorted, Chase almost thought it dead already. Slight relief filled his mind, thinking the fall had killed the beast, but a growl from his hound made him refocus on the manticore again. It would stagger and rise to its feet, Chase taking on a guarded stand with his sword as he prepared to try and finish the beast. 'You die here today Grimm.' He thought angrily yet excitedly. This side of him, the side meant for battle, lived for killing them. But the knowledge that a wounded beast is just as, if not more, deadly when wounded kept him at bay temporarily. Despite the struggling it had in rising, it moved far too quickly and erratically for Chase to safely move in to attack it yet.
In his hesitation, the Grimm took the initiative as it's head turned to him. Chase could see a bright orange light filling his mouth as the Grimm prepared to launch another fireball. He was far too close to dodge it, so he had to try and stop it quickly. His eyes searched for the blood he had left on it from before, not having been able to track it clearly with how fast it fell before. Finding it where he had left it, stuck in the jaws of the beast itself and only a little left beneath the jaw as it had faded during the fall, he acted on instinct and hoped it would be enough. Focusing, he would have the blood rise to cover the front of the creatures mouth just as it was about to fire the fireball. He would even start to try and solidify it there, but did not have enough time to fully do so. Still, as Chase braced to be hit if his blood didn't hold, the fireball grew in light and intensity...before hitting the blood. The solid fragments blood shattered quickly as the liquid blood collapsed on the ball of fire, dousing it to just having sparks fly out of the creatures mouth towards chased as all the blood he had spent was now gone. He could feel the leftover heat and intensity of the blast as well as the force in air it held hit him...but had managed to save himself and his hound from feeling the direct blast. As the beast turned to focus on the armored warrior, Chase felt a growl emerge from his throat. 'I'm not done with you yet!' He thought angrily. It thought a simple fireball would be the end of him...and he would make it pay for underestimating him. It would then pounce to try and attack the armored warrior, stinger prepared along with whatever arsenal it had left from its front end. Which meant it had now turned a bit away from Chase at least. It was Chase's turn to be on the attack. Without saying a word or signal to his hound, Chase would charge at the beast from behind and aiming for its stinger as he would try to latch onto it and stab it repeatedly if he could manage to land onto it. Figuring if he could take out its stinger, he could cripple the beast further and inflict more pain to it. His hound would follow in its master's foot steps by trying to lunge at it from behind and bite into its rear.
Danaë felt the creature let go of her, her body falling backwards towards the ground. Had she succeeded? Had she been useful to her team? Her own blood seemed to fly above her. She tried to move her left arm. She had no luck. It had done too much damage. It looked like Narx would have to heal her again. A song resonated in her mind, showing how doomed she was to die from this fall. Above her, she saw the Manticore start to fall to the ground faster than her. It appeared that it was a lot heavier than her. At least that was good. She would turn herself in the air, looking towards her team. The look on Narx's face broke her heart.
She couldn't let herself die. There were so many things that she had yet to do. If she didn't slow down, it wouldn't matter. She saw her love trying to catch her from the sky. She had to slow down, otherwise, she could possibly kill him. She closed her eyes. "Please, anyone, if you have any energy to save my life, please do so..." Then she felt the warmth of her Aura hitting over her body, but more towards her arms. It wasn't healing her though, she felt herself slowing down. She opened her eyes, and she saw her brown aura coating her arms, over her feathers, extending them. "Wings?! I have wings!?" Her body would slow down, even if her left arm was dangling in the wind. Her body went to straighten out for a landing, something she didn't know how to do. She would see Narx trying to catch her. "Move Narx!" She would scream because her body gave out, 5 feet above the ground, however, if Narx didn't move, he would be pushed into the ground by her abdomen.
