Rhea Izar

Izobel Beckett

It seemed as if the show was finally ready to start. Izobel would admire the aerial displays that were going to happen and all the trapeze and clown acts but she couldn't help but think about the animals that might be here. It looked like she and Roxanne were out of luck in not having exotic animals involved. She'd try not to show her disappointment when those animals were brought out. The show lights in the tent dimmed and the show had begun.

Shaking her head slowly Izobel sighed before letting putting her notebook away into her bag. Then the sounds stopped and the lights went completely out. Izobel almost swore she could feel something almost close around her throat...and everything was still. Almost to the point of panicking did Izzy finally realize that she could still breathe but the weight in her chest was heavy, sinking, almost all consuming. And then the feeling dissipated as soon as the lights returned ... but why had she been sitting in the stands? She needed to practice and get better at her act. Diabolo was tougher than it looked.

Waving in the direction of Roxy and hoping she'd be free later to chat Izobel grabbed her bag and hurried off to get ready for things. There was no way she would be late again for practice.

[Zachary and Christabelle Calloway]

Khaleel was a sight for sore eyes, and Lilith with him probably made Melody more comfortable. Christa had never met Sunshine Incarnate, but seemed pleased by his boundless energy. She hid a chuckle with her hand as Zach and Melody were ushered into the tent for the start of the show. Following along behind, she didn't mind being an odd-one-out; in fact, she preferred it, allowing her to keep an eye on things while the lovebirds were at play. Someone had to keep tabs on them!

Zach, however, was none too pleased with the idea that filthy clowns might have been running around where he couldn't see them. "...yeah, yeah, I think so? I mean, I'm totally down with the popcorn and the games 'n stuff. It... yeah, it is like a double-date, isn't it? Uh, Khaleel, this is my older sister, Christa. Christa, this is Khaleel. Oh, and this is Lilith!" Gesturing to each, his sister nodded in approval.

"It's a pleasure, thank you."

Following Khaleel and Lilith to find their seats, Zach had grabbed a bag of popcorn for he and Melody to share on the way in. Lights dimming, all eyes were on the presentation.

Poppy Sedgwick

There were a lot of things Poppy could have / would have said to Tiberius, given the time; but they were in public, and that meant she did her best to pretend like he couldn't speak English if anyone else was listening in. She stiffened her shoulders when he balanced his paws upon them, doing her best to provide a stable surface, ready to direct herself towards the concessions, and -

and -

The voice reverberated through her head, impossibly loud, and Poppy shook; her hands flew to her ears like it would do anything, breathing loud - breathing so loud in her ears, faster and faster, her heartbeat a runaway train - she could feel Tiberius' weight on her, not thrown off, but it was so distant and too far to reach (no no no no no no no get out of my head). Clawing down through her throat. The sound of drums, all the way deep in her bones.

The lights went out and she could barely breathe, her heart in her throat, breath coming too fast; the noise in and out, in and out, and she was too far from a wall and she had nothing in her hands for calming and too loud too loud was reaching and grabbing all the way into her bones, into her mind and she couldn't see couldn't breathe couldn't couldn't couldn't -

The lights came up and Poppy took a deep breath, irritated, and brushed some hair behind her ears; the diamond-shaped clip that held her bangs back had come undone, and she rolled it between her fingers. God, these lights never worked for 24 hours consistently. It didn't matter if people said it was dramatic; somebody needed to call an electrician. "Tiberius? Get off my shoulders. You're hurting me."

[Melody Klein]

She was beginning to think they were always going to run in to Khaleel and Lilith at the rate their run ins were going. And sure it was their second run-in with them in the month but that was certainly more often then she ran into people after meeting them recently. Not that she was complaining in anyway, Lilith was a dear friend and Khaleel a literal ball of sunshine.

Though she didn't know Christa well enough just yet, Melody found herself feeling rather at home with the small group.

"I don't see why we wouldn't sit with you two~" she replied, following along with everyone. "As I mentioned to Zach before you both joined us, the more the merrier."

With such boisterous personalities from the boys she found it was often easier to just go with the flow of their directions. Which worked out often because their directions seemed to align with her directions, mostly in the case of Zachary though he and Khaleel seemed to work as one sometimes. Having Lilith and the even more quiet Christa with her was going to work well.

Though as they seated and the show seemed to begin, there was an excitement burbling in her own chest. And then the lights went out.

Suddenly the words he'd said to the female at his side, the warning, was forgotten as well as so many other things. All replaced and it was all unknown to the ashen blond who was watching as others hurried off and it had him glancing about. "Really, everyone running around like a bunch of children." Raising his nose into the air, though he was also standing and stretching.

"I should get going, I do have to get ready as well." Unlike the idiots running about he wouldn't do such a thing, he could walk back to his trailer and start to get ready at a normal pace. He'd never been much for running around and acting like some immature child, had he ever really acted like a child though? He didn't think so...than again he'd never really had the chance either. When you lived on your own for a good many years, than lived in the circus which was a business of sorts, you didn't get the time really to behave as a child. That wasn't to say it was all business and work, just most of the time, he did like to explore each new place they went to as they traveled.

Heading off, with a final nod of his head to Shannon the male headed off, He had things to get ready.

Toby - secretly on scene the whole time I swear

He honestly wasn't sure why he decided to go to a late night circus. That sounded like an awful idea.

And possibly a trap.

Toby spent most nights he wasn't sleeping powered up, after all, so was quite well aware of odd things existing around. But still he went. Not powered up, naturally. He got himself a nice badge, and oggled at the setup of the place. Circuses weren't really common things anymore, and he'd never actually gone to a real one before. Though it was tempting to go find somebody and talk their ear off, instead he decided to be quiet, and observe people. A circus seemed like a great place for that, watching what kind of weird person would come to on only open in the middle of the night... (hang on a sec there, something seemed slightly off about that judgment...) And other things. Outfits, hair styles, how people move and walk. All fascinating, and very easy to miss, if one wasn't specifically thinking about it.

Eventually, though, it was time to actually go into the tent. Big Top? I think that's the term, he thought. So on in he went, where he found it was pleasantly warm. He was already feeling some excited anticipation of going in to see a real circus, but the atmosphere of the place was infectious, and he was positively beaming with anticipation as he found his way to his seat.

When the show did start, the sound of the announcer (ringmaster?) speaking was strange...surreal, even, and it sent a tingle down Toby's spine. He was still grinning, of course. There was something off about the whole thing, but he wasn't really sure exactly what that was. Didn't matter, though, the show got started, and there was just so much to see! He was trying (and failing) to watch it all, constantly, everywhere... But there was far too much.

Circuses were wild, weren't they?

It was going on for a while, and Toby was grinning the whole time, drinking in the sights. Then, suddenly, the ringmaster was speaking again... He wasn't terribly clear on what he was saying...but it didn't matter.

THUNK.

A drum. Suddenly...static? Darkness? Strange.

THUNK.

"Welcome to the show," the voice said. Toby blinked once, twice. Something was...odd here. What was odd?

... A tiger roared, and Toby's eyes opened wide, unfocused...he briefly felt like his very existence was spinning, spinning...And then, just like that, all was good again.

It was a bright day, there were people everywhere...Of course there were, it was the circus! He looked around for a moment, grinning at the sight of so many people happily going about their day of excitement and wonder. Then his grin faded. He suddenly remembered--It's time for practice! I'm late! He took off at a run, dashing to the circus tent, reflecting briefly it was good he was actually dressed for the act already, because that wouldn't be good to be both late and unprepared!

[And so Toby goes off to his life of circusing!]

Tiberius

Before even a voice came, there was a strange shuffling feeling along his spine and a momentary whiff of something not right, but then the cloyingly delicious scent of circus hot dogs was once again firmly in the Mauvian's nostrils, burning away all other thoughts save sinking his teeth into one of those plump, disgusting meat tubes.

But then the voice happened and Poppy started acting weird - Tibs heard the voice, heard it doubled, trebled, quintupled, even - but there was no additional scent to go along with it. Just the same scents that had been there all along. The scent of sawdust, straw, and animals; of many bodies in an enclosed space. Of grease paint and cotton candy and powdered sugar and sea salt. Of oil and wood and canvas. The meaty-oily choke of the hot dogs, the fizzy-sweet scent of fountain drinks with too much syrup and carbonation. But there was no smell to go along with the voice that reverberated through their heads, nothing that struck Tiberius' sensitive nose. "Hey, Pops?"

But Poppy didn't hear him - or couldn't, maybe? And then the noise was in his head, the roar of that damn tiger, so loud it jarred his very teeth and then it was pressing the breath out of him and the lights -
the lights went out and -- the

lights went out and --

the lights went out and--

In the darkness, Tiberius can see better than the humans, he can see the people milling uselessly in the dark like puppets until the lights come on again and all is right in the world once more. The Mauvian shakes his head as though to clear it, huffing a bit from his perch on Poppy's shoulder.

Wait, why was he on her shoulder again? Oh, right. They'd been discussing their acts again - it was so much easier to do when his mouth was up near her ear instead of his near the floor and hers up in the damn air.

"Well dollface, if you'd lose a few feet I wouldn't have to hitch a ride, now would I? Or maybe you could just carry me like that sweet Orah does." But Poppy wouldn't carry him against her chest, which was a damn shame. Even grumbling, the cat hopped down from her shoulders to the sawdust strewn flooring, sneezing twice in quick succession as the dust from his landing rose up to tickle his nostrils. Ah, no place better. Where else but the circus could a talking cat be normal? Talking cats, bearded ladies, Siamese twins, and all the oddities of the world. Carnies accepted such things, within their own hierarchy, of course.

"I'll catch you later, for practice yeah? Gotta see a man about a horse." Which generally meant nothing more than Tiberius had discovered something with his heightened senses worth his time. Food, drink. A con to be had. He was a consumate conartist, as Poppy had found out years back - considering that was how she'd ended up his assistant! "Don't work to hard, Poprocks."

The cat trotted off towards the concessions full of purpose, his tail high.

Arias had never had true passion for the circus; it was loud and busy and grody, but he was always impressed with the amount of hard work and talent displayed by the performers. A circus wasn’t necessarily his first idea for a date but he would have said yes to Nick’s request even if his enthusiasm hadn’t been so contagious.

He had a hard time saying no to Nick, anyway.

He kept his fingers curled around Nick’s, more confident now about public displays of affection, but still fairly reserved.

They didn’t get to go on date nights often, so it was a nice treat and it was something fun and different.

‘Orah’ was an unfamiliar name, so when Nick was waving and calling to someone, Arias jus tilted his head and glanced between the two. He offered a polite smile but left introductions to Nick.

"Well that's not entirely true. I get excited when I get paid." That was his attempt at a joke. That worked well, right? Even if he deadpanned it he meant it to get a smile from his dear sister. Then again, she'd laugh at a peanut if it looked weird, so to him it was kinda more than needed effort.

Damn... He must have been in a good mood because he even gave a half smile and put up a peace sign when Lori got in position for the selfie. He wanted this to be a long time good memory. Landry imagined himself flipping through his sister's photos and just smiling at the memory of them here and having fun... Yeah, they needed more happy memories for sure.

"No, don't you dare. I don't want to stand out and be 'that guy'. You know me, I don't like the spotlight at all, feel free to suck it all up on your own. You'll need that extra energy for when you crash hard from all the sugar I'm sure you're going to scarf down at some point." That being said, he was trying to steer her away from the stands and to find a seat instead. Something close to the front so that they didn't have to squint too badly to see anything.

Then the music changed and s**t went down real fast. Some real creepy bullshit that had him reach out and pull Lori towards him.

".... Ugh... Don't tell me some stupid magical crap is about to happen... Honestly, we can't seem to have a single night out without worrying about someone trying to kill us or mug us or something..." He muttered irritably to his sister, half trying to drag her out of the tent before they became trapped in here.

Yet it was too late and the lights shut off, roars going and a vibration in his bones that held him captive, unable to move.

"I'm right here... I'm right here.." Landry managed to force out, his grip tightening on Lori to the point he almost felt himself bruising her soft skin...

A moment later he relaxed as the lights turned back on, as much as Landry ever relaxed and everything seemed well.

What in the world were they doing there...? They should be practicing not exploring the benches of this damned place.

"Ugh... What have you dragged us to now? You know we need to practice our balancing... Eating all those damned corndogs did nothing to help with the last performance, Lori! I don't need to hold my breath each time I decide to hoist you up!"

"Doesn't it though?" December was incredibly thankful that his friend was nice enough to be patient with how terribly, terribly excited he was for all of this. It felt like a loud and excited shout was stuck in his chest, screaming at him to just go "YEAHHHH" and run around to touch every little thing he could. It wasn't too different from how he felt during the Space and Love thing, wanting to touch and feel and eat and smell and DO everything. He'd always been that sort of overly excited to the point of being annoying kinda person, he'd be the first to admit.... But atleast he had his sweet best friend Kelly to put up with it. More than anyone else he trusted her to keep him close and feeling like just maybe he was a good enough person to be friends with.

Yeah.... He really REALLY loved that about her.

When she pulled him closer, he readily gave in, elbows brushing and shoulders almost touching as he tried to work himself off that edge of wanting to just run and be the kid he often could be and never really had the chance to be before. And December didn't mind a single bit either. After all, he loved Kelly and if she was happy to be by his side, then he was happy to listen to her as best as his wandering mind could.

"Oooh NO I forgot about Funnelcake! Okay, yeah, that's even better than six cotton candies! Kelly you always have the best ideas, I swear! So... Okay, okay, we got this, that's Two Funnel Cakes, TWO Cotton candies and... maybe a pretzel or a corndog or something! You know! Something salty to go with all that sweet." At this point they were in line, December rocking on his heels and gently swinging their hands back and forth while they waited.

The sounds started to get weird though... things were... Staticy in a way, different than the music that had been playing otherwise.

"Hrm... I wonder if someone knocked something over... Or maybe their system is really really old and they put a cellphone near it. Hehe..." It was creepy, that he could admit... Then a giant drum beat sounded... and a yell... and a roar that had December actually jump and put his arms protectively around Kelly. "Ahaha... G-guess they fixed the sound system..."

His heart was racing and... Why did it feel like hands came about his throat...?

"K-Kelly....?" He was afraid... Yes, he was afraid and when the lights went out, he pulled his best friend as close to him as be could, wanting to think that yes, he was doing this for her protection, but he was seeking out comfort the best way he could.

"Ahaha... Power outages... Ahahahaaaaa We'll be fine! I-I'm sure we will be! Ahahahaaaaa...." Silence... The world was so silent but December kept laughing... He laughed and laughed, nervous at first, then growing until it almost seemed crazed with his grip tightening more and more on the smaller girl's arms.

Lights came back on in a snap, but his laughing didn't end there. No, this time it sounded sweeter, genuine, more like himself. Good, good! He was the best clown around after all! If he couldn't have the best laugh, then he was failing his job. And in his arms was his favorite mime of a friend~ He could do it! This time he could make her laugh.

"Come on, Kelly-friend! You'd smile for a snack, right? Come ooooon, smile for me!" He let his hands fall to his side for a moment before reaching out with his overly long sleeves of his costume to grab her hand to pull her along. "Well, if you wanna be like that, let's keep goin' then! There's things to do, we got things to do!"

Shannon settled down next to Alex and continued to observe their surroundings. "Intriguing, that's one way to put it." Odd is how she would put it. Very, very odd. Then again that's why she was here, her assignment revolved around this odd circus and it's strange operating hours. She was already mentally writing her article, at least the bare bones of it, when Alex's words had her glancing over at him, surprised at what he just revealed. "What..." Her questions were cut off as the show began, all thoughts about possible dangers or unknown troubles got pushed to the back of her mind as a riot of color, lights, and sounds drew her full attention. Mesmerising her. Entrancing her.

The elephant's trumpet, the drum beats, the cheers and jeers, the music... it swelled around her. The tiger’s roar was like a freight train. So loud it seems to vibrate every molecule in her. Deep in her bones, sinking down beneath her silky skin and taking root in her very soul. It drowned her in it's sound. Not just heard but felt; like a heartbeat, like a breath, like a hand around her throat cutting off her air. Until it all goes dark. Time freezes, something crackles like static for a moment. Was it her breath? Her heart? The world itself?

The lights turned on suddenly and all Shannon could think of was how she needed to get ready for the show. Who she was lost, the warning was gone, all that was left was the knowledge of her years in the circus, perfecting her skills on the Aerial Silk and Corde Lisse, that and the worry about getting ready for the show. "Yes well it's almost time for the show." She rolled her eyes at her ashen blonde companion, her silver eyes taking in the rush of humanity around them. "I've got to get warmed up myself. Can't risk a tumble from the Corde tonight." With that she tossed a quick wave to Alex and headed off to back and her practice spot. Soon the show would begin.

Lulu made her way into the aisle and took a seat with her friends, being careful not to whack anyone with her huge ball of cotton candy. She gave Hania a little scratch behind his ears before she was fully settled. It was no joke just how much cotton candy they gave her, way too much for a single person to eat, unless she wanted to ride her own sugar high. While she loved sweets, she didn't need all the sugar to rile her up for the show. "You can have some of this if you'd like. This is way too much for me." She offered the colorful ball of candy toward her friends.

"It's a pretty late show. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a little more dramatic than your typical circus." The one she had been to when she was small was mostly clowns, some jokes, cute magic, and neat acrobatics. Things to awe her young mind.

When Kailey called out to Eva, Lulu waved her over as well, offering her the empty seat next to them. It was kind of amazing just how many of them had showed up for the event. Maybe it would have been a good idea to hit them up before hand. Oh well, they were all here now.

"I had no idea either. A very pleasant surprise!" It wasn't long after they had all settled down that there was a voice that called out and the show began. The lights and acts were almost mesmerizing. Her cotton candy was definitely forgotten during the whole things.

Once it was over, well it was time for practice!

Landry's attempt at a oke only earned him a puzzled look at first, honestly she was just trying to keep a straight face with him. That broke down quickly though and she was nearly bent over in laughter. Honestly, it didn't take much to make her laugh. The fact that it was her brother, her dear, normally very dull, brother that had made the joke was worth the extra effect.

"What has gotten into you?" Wow, if she'd have to be on the lookout for more events like this in the future. He even managed to give her a very adorable, happy pose for the selfie. Her own smile was wide, like she had just enjoy a good laugh with her twin. Which she had! She showed Landry the picture before stuffing her phone back into her pocket.

He was right to steer her away from the stands, if he hadn't been distracting her so well she definitely would have gotten some sugary treats to eat as well. She would have been bouncing in her seat during the entire show. Luckily, she didn't even notice them as they made their way into the stands, closer to the front.

They had just settled into their seats when things went dark real fast. Honestly, Lori wasn't concerned much at all. It was a Circus that was taking place in the middle of the night. A darker, creepier theme was sort of expected by her. Besides, she was a very unrealistically optimistic person.

"You're always so negative, shhh, just give it some time." Of course he was already trying to get them to leave and she was still insisting that they stay. This was ridiculous, but as the light went out and Landry's grip on her start to cut of the circulation to her hand she went into a more concerned sister mode.

"Are you having a panic attack?" There was only a moment of concern though, before everything reset. Why were they here?

"Uh, excuse me. Me? You know I don't like those greasy foods. I know what they do to me. And we're twins after all. What hurts my stomach hurts yours." She gave her brother a scowl and crossed her arms in front of her. "Maybe I'll turn tonight's show into a comedy and drop you. The crowd would get a kick out of that." She stormed off then, they really did need to hurry up.

Orah Gowan

The excited babble of voices around her made it hard to pick out any one voice or make out the words being spoken, but something caught her attention with its sense of familiarity. The sound of her name cut through the noise and Orah turned to sweep the sea of faces with her eyes, trying to pick out the source.

Maybe she had imagined it... with so many people talking, maybe someone had said something similar to 'orah', and her ear was playing tricks on her... But no, there was a blonde head and a waving arm. Nick? Orah squinted before her face cleared and a smile broke out on her face. The blonde was familiar, and a friend, exactly what she had been hoping to find.

There was a young man with him, brunette with a red tone to his shoulder length hair. A friend? A date? Hard to tell from over here. The brunette lifted an arm to wave back, breaking from her focus only to glance about and make sure she wasn't going to run into anyone as she headed their direction. There was always a chance she was interrupting something between the two of them, but if they didn't want company, Nick wouldn't have called for her, right? Inwardly, though, she resolved to sort of take the temperature of the situation, and quietly excuse herself after saying hi if things seemed more... inclined to keep things to two.

Before she made it across the tent to join her friend, things suddenly started to move. A drum beat, the sounds of the circus, music... and then the lights, and the noises... stopped.

Raina & Ignacio Araya

Ignacio went to open his mouth again, but Raina suddenly shushed him, swatting at him and making him quirk a brow. "Shh, shh, hermano, I think it's starting."

Raina had been right. The show was starting, and admittedly, as much as Ignacio hadn't wanted to go, it was captivating. He loved watching artists with such talent flying through the air so gracefully. Ignacio was fairly multi-talented when it came to athletic acts, but he doubted that he'd be able to do what they did. He didn't have the same kind of balance. He admittedly did parkour, which may have helped him more than other people in doing that sort of thing, but it wasn't a miracle working hobby. A talent at one thing did not necessarily imply a talent in the other.

He watched as a trapeze artist swung by, and heard an elephant's bellow. Wait-- were elephants even allowed in circuses anymore? He thought there was a lot of things about that in the news a while ago --

Never mind that, what he was watching was pretty. And it was so colorful. So very colorful.

Raina seemed captivated. Her eyes were locked on the floor, unmoving, her body careening forward just a tad as if she was trying to dive right into the action. Her fingers had a tight grip on the seat to try and keep herself in place despite the urge she had to go join them. It looked like so much--

The drum beat stunned her, and she suddenly stood up straight, no longer trying to lean close in. Who was screaming? Why was someone screaming? What was the screaming for was it part of the program was it supposed to be happening why--

With the tiger's roar, she very suddenly went from being captivated to turning into the "baby" herself, jumping up and leaning in a bit closer to her brother. Not that she wanted to show that she was afraid or anything because she absolutely was not after calling her brother a baby for not wanting to be there not at all definitely not she was definitely absolutely not scared of whatever felt like it was rattling her bones in a way that she hadn't heard since that one dance concert where the speakers were a little wonky and had suddenly blared for no reason no she was definitely absolutely not scared of anything at all nope no sirree--

Ignacio didn't miss the way that his sister seemed to go from excited to shivering, and he had to admit he had a similar concern. This didn't seem normal. Everything was way too loud. He wrapped his arm around his sister and brought her into his side, just in case she needed any actual protection from him. He hadn't wanted to be--

The lights went out.

Everything went quiet.

And then, it was noisy.

Ignacio blinked down at his little magician of a sister. He didn't know how he ended up being in such a different circus art than her, but he supposed that was part of being raised in the circus. "You alright? Did we fall asleep?"

"Huh?" Raina blinked her eyes slowly, coming back to a sitting position. "Did we?" She looked around, trying to figure out what was going on. Why exactly were they just hanging out in the bleachers? "That's weird ... well, I probably need to go back to practice now. Good nap!"

"Uh... good nap?" Ignacio watched her run off before standing up himself, heading off in another direction.

Perrie Diver

A circus! Circuses were great! Perrie wandered through the crowd toward the main tent, a huge grin on his face as he took in the sights and sounds and smells. His parents had taken him to the circus a couple of times when he was a little kid, and it had left a lasting impression; it was one of the reasons, actually, that he had taken so quickly to the juggling kit they bought him when he was seven. He knew in some alternate universe he must be some kind of circus performer instead of a jockey.

Entering the tent, he paused for a moment to take it all in. The place was filling up quickly, so he figured he had better find a seat and get settled in before the show started. Perrie looked around, then spotted a familiar head of pale pink hair, sitting with some others -- Lulu, he remembered, or Isolda, but that was her sailor person name -- and there was the talking cat that had told him he was this Parsifal guy! He was still half-convinced it was all a mushroom-fueled hallucination, that Isolda and Hania the cat were doing some wacky cosplay thing with someone dressed up like Gamera gone really bad, but he felt the weight of the transformation pen-wand-thing in his pocket and remembered that yeah, it had really happened.

But that was as may be. Circus! And someone he knew! "Hey, Lulu!" he shouted, waiving a hand as he made his way toward where she and the others were seated. Would she remember him? And were these people secretly other members of this Arthurian Court he'd been told about? He couldn't wait to meet them and find out!

Before he could reach them, a voice boomed through the tent…

the lights went down…

And when they came back up, he felt around for the juggling balls in his pocket. He was almost late to practice!

Perrie exit!

Kailey O'Carroll

When Eva joined their growing group, Kailey had given a snort and eyed the collection. "Yeah, 'sides me, Alex, and Hani, didn't expect others to be showing up, either." Lulu had a point though -- would have been worth it to send out a text to the group chat to find out if anyone else was game for the fun. As they began to settle, Kailey herself ran a quick run to the concessions stand with Hania on her shoulder, returning with some drinks for herself, Alex, and the guardian to secretly sip from, along with some small snacks. Lulu had the ton of cotton candy, after all.

She slid into a seat beside Alex, tossing an arm around her kid sister's shoulders after putting the food and drinks into suitable locations that wouldn't cause them to splatter on the floor. Leaning forward a bit, she grinned to Lulu and Eva, "I'm expecting the show to have a few cooler points since it's a later one, but didn't see any warnings about if kids were in attendance." That being said, if they had to toss hands over Alex's eyes, so be it.

A new voice called in, a guy with bright hair approaching and speaking to Lulu. She blinked, brow furrowing towards the unknown entity. Parsifal, was the whisper in the ear from the black cat on her shoulder. Kailey's eyes widened momentarily, having been told another of their.... group, had awakened.

But her attention didn't remain focused on the most recent of their ragtag group. A voice began to boom through the tent. Her arm tightened around her sister. The lights went down. Adrenaline spiked through her system.

And the daredevil cynic opened her eyes.

Lilith Calchas

Hearing Khaleel confirm she had heard familiar voices had been a wonderful surprise, hurrying along with him to meet with the others. "Hello! Exciting evening, isn't it?" Though she'd been referring to the circus, she couldn't help but give a small snort of laughter at the mention of it being a double-date. Well, it was true.

"Oh, pleasure to meet you, Christa," Lilith beamed, not having realized at first there was another in the group--oops! There wasn't much of a chance to speak and get to know Zach's sister, at least not yet, being instead quickly ushered off with Khaleel to grabbing some food then to seats. As he put his hand at her waist, she tucked herself closer to him, hesitating a little before putting an arm around his middle in turn. She still had her cane, of course, to help make sure she didn't hit people or trip over anything, but there was a definite comfort in being so close to the young man. She... well, trusted him.

Once in their seats, she sat in a way so she could tuck her legs up underneath her, her shoulder snug against Khaleel's arm. The smells, the sounds, the energy that pulsed through the crowd... when things began, she could feel the shift in the air as excitement from the crowd kicked up. She cheered with the others, even as her hand held tight to Khaleel's arm. No, she didn't see the lights go out.

But something else went dark, and from it emerged a magician that still yet lingered.
