Kylar made his way into the basement, closing the door behind him. He didn't bother turning on the light or even walking down the steps for that matter. He lifted off the ground moving to the center of the room as he removed himself from contact with anything. His senses were betraying him, but he wanted to see if he could overcome that by relying on another sense perhaps one that hadn't been manipulated.

Closing his eyes Kylar slowly focused. He removed his sense of sight by closing his eyes in the darkness of the basement. He dulled his sense of touch and taste as he stopped reaching out to the vinyl that made up the extremities of his body. Next was smell, as he slowed his breathing until it came to a halt, a benefit of an unnatural body. The last sense he had to shut off was hearing, but that one was more difficult. He hoped that the silence beneath the house would suffice as he reached outward focusing on his sixth sense.

Someone or something was messing with him, he just needed to find it now. Kylar focused on his ability to sense souls, cutting off all of the other senses that were somehow playing tricks on him to focus on one that most people wouldn't comprehend yet alone know to hinder. He began attempting to sense everything around him, no longer relying on sight, sound or touch to find things nearby.

Kylar continued to focus trying to get a clearer image of the people around him. Whatever that was, it must be whomever is messing with him. If only he could make out those hushed whispers, but those were unimportant for now. He first needed to isolate them, find them and then... Kill them.

Getting as clear a view as seemed able, Kylar began listening trying to split his focus between maintaining sight in reality and listening to the voices of the souls that surrounded him. They were talking faster since he started focusing on them, perhaps they were talking about him and he could learn exactly what was happening.

Unable to understand the words as a whole, Kylar gave up on listening and instead began to move his arms, attempting to feel where he was in relation to the voices. He needed to test his limits while under whatever influence these people had over him. If he couldn't manage movement within the confines of the real world then he would need to find another way to escape.

Kylar felt the restraints as he raised his arms fully in the basement, the movement here being a miniscule translation in the other world. Even with super strength he wouldn't be able to get out unless he could ground himself there more completely and translate his movements farther.

Kylar sighed as an idea came to him. He didn't like it, but he knew away to increase his focus that might just save him. "I'm going to give you back the body, Kylar, don't fight me and we might just survive." He spoke to himself as he summoned a small silver chain. The chain wound it's way up his arm as the innate power of a shadow was drained from his body. The aura of dread that surrounded Kylar faded.

There was a strange calm in his mind as he opened his eyes for the first time in weeks. Kylar took in the sights around him trying to focus as he took in an unnecessary breath. He had seen everything that the other him had seen, but this was the first time in what felt like forever that he was seeing what he wanted. 'I'm going to focus on our senses, you see if you can get us out of here' The thought raced through his mind as if it had come from another person, but it was just something from within his subconscious.

Kylar took in a deep breath enjoying the sensation before turning his focus solely on his sixth sense as the other him had done. No longer focusing on suppressing the other side of himself the two now worked in tandem attempting to see into the other world.

"Alright, this isn't working. Do you have any other bright ideas?" Kylar asked himself, opening his eyes. 'Just one, die. The shock might be enough to break whatever hold they have on us.' The idea ran through his head suddenly as if answering his question. Kyla sighed before responding, "Why did I know you were going to say something stupid like that?" The thought shot back, 'Because it was your idea, you were just to afraid to admit it.'

Kylar floated towards the doorway opening it back into the house before calling out, "I'm over here, Ree. Come and get me." He stepped out of the basement into the house looking for the source of the voice.

"You're right, no one would care. So what are you waiting for?" Kylar responded with a blank stare. He watched the pair calling out, "Well, what's taking you so long? If you're going to kill me get it over with, otherwise get out." He didn't show any hostility to the pair or intention to resist them. Whether this would prove to be an error in judgement was yet to be seen.
