Deme headed up to bat. Readying himself for whatever might come his way. it took his bat and tested it out. rubbing his shoes into the dirt below him and readying his stance. he looked straight at the pitcher and readied himself for whatever throw might come his way.

While he didn't know his team that well he really didn't want to let them down. after all it was his team today and they needed him to be on his a game. he thought as he drowned out the noise and focused on only the pitcher getting ready to throw. he watched as their feet left the ground and their hand arched in his direction. he counted down in his head and then at the count of three he took his swing. as hard and as calm as he could he swung that bat. only thinking of one thing at that moment, and that was his goal to hit that ball. He heard it and shut his eyes for a moment before looking up.

He tried his best to head to first base, though before he could it was tagged. this was what he had learned was a fly-out.

Oh man well he'd get it next time.




Bellunae the Cat | Team Stuffs Mascot

Bellalunae watched the game with super interest. it was actually a perfect game and was giving her tons of ideas for her next book. she smiled and moew'd. almost hoping to distract the team at bat with her loud meows. she really wanted her team to win even though in the beginning of the game she wasn't even sure what this game was. One of her fun memories and it wasn't even over yet. Her team could still pull it off.



Sabrina Luna // Crowd

Sabrina Luna watched both teams. She slowly nibbled on some snacks, and then she reached into her bag. her dad had packed some snacks for their kitty. and she totally forgot. she quickly raced to the dugout and placed a water bowl that was black with bones on it and a food bowl of similar style next to bella. "Sorry don't mind me, just being a snack person for the team cat," she said to the puffs team with a smile and slight wave. she quickly took out a thermos and poured some cold water and some sliced chicken and tuna her dad had had the hotel chief make for her.

Amigar // Crowd

Amigar continued to munch on her snacks as she watched the game eagerly. she was getting so many ideas for new desserts. from flag,
baseball hats, and even softball themed french pastries. she couldn't wait to doodle them up once she got home.

leave it to her she came to a game to get away from desserts and instead it just bought her closer to them. she really was a baker at heart. nothing could ever change that she thought with a smile as she watched the game for more ideas and out of pure interest of course.

Colin Hargrove | CROWD

Colin might not have always noticed when he was over-crowding someone, but he was wholly capable of noticing when one of his friends was distressed about something - even if he didn't always know the hows or whys. Thankfully Chris was distracted from further upset over whatever had distressed him regarding YouTube by discussions of children.

"Oh my god, congratulations Chris! I'm so happy for you guys." Colin would take a minute out of cheering in order to give Chris a hug - whether the other man was okay with it or not, he was going to be enveloped in the boisterous blond's embrace. "I can't believe it, December. That's so soon...and so far away. How do you even stand it?"

Back to the game, Colin laughed; obviously there was no way in hell he wanted to put one of the jersey's - which he actually did have one of, thanks to badgering Quenton endlessly - over his cheer leading outfit.

"Well, you guys are always welcome to an evening at my theater. I know it's not Paris' home turf, but we do some good work.


Pasi Järvinen | CROWD

Although his manner was brusque as always, he wasn't entirely displeased to see Yuuri again. Not really pleased, since the guy was nervous as a cat at a dog show and that wasn't really something Pasi enjoyed having to deal with...but Yuuri was fairly inoffensive. So it wasn't as though he were being forced to interact with that Caia guy.

"You know Bob, hm? He is opportunistic, it does not surprise me." Yuuri was stiff and timid, which was ridiculous. "You want a beer?" Might loosen him up some, or make him a bit more tolerable. At least watching the cats moon over the chicken and beer was amusing, as was watching some of the players moving around - most of them were fit, trim, and attractive. As long as he didn't have to converse with them, he could admire freely.


Tiberius | CROWD

The arrival of Yuuri threw a wrench in their plans to have some conversations while watching the ball game, but he also brought the chicken back - and that was truly the most important thing.

Delicately Tiberius ate his piece of tender flesh and then settled before the bowl to lap up plenty of the delicious beer that his brother in arms had left to him in favor of plopping himself into Yuuri's lap. Tiberius drank his fill and then went to fill the Finn's lap as his friend had filled the other man's lap. Pasi seemed a bit surprised, but mostly resigned to being a cat couch, and set to absently petting the fluffy Tom's fur.

”Got it!” Charlie called out as the ball was hit her way, shuffling her feet along the ground to get directly in front of the ball to scoop it up and throw it back to first. She gave a thumbs up to the girl who had just hit, as well as a bright smile.

“You’re doing great! Keep it up!” she called to the girl, not wanting her to feel upset about being thrown out. It was just how the game was played. “Okay team! One more out!” she called to the rest.

“Let them hit it, Robin! We’ll back you up!” she promised, because she knew how rough it was to pitch over and over again. He didn’t have to strike everyone out! The rest of the team was there to help, after all!

Peter knew that Briar understood what he was talking about. The other teen was smart and knew what he was doing, so there was no reason for Peter to try and make it more obvious that he was talking about senshi things.

“Definitely. You know we’d help however we could,” he said, answering for Benji because he wasn’t there, and because he was sure that Benji wouldn’t just leave Briar to have to do something on his own. “I’ll be free all week. All summer, actually. College doesn’t start until August sometime,” he said as he made a face, more at his own crazy decision to go to college early, and less at the fact that the second inning was just as boring as the last.

But this was softball and it was going to be boring.

“I’ve wanted to ask you guys something too. I’ve been doing a lot of, uh… research lately. I wanted to see if you guys wanted to spot me, or help collect some information when you can. I don’t want you feeling pressured, of course,” he quickly added, because it could get dangerous and he didn’t want anyone risking themselves while chasing after youma for him.

The hug wasn’t expected, but Chris often hugged people anyway, so it wasn’t as though he was going to be against it. He laughed softly, hugging Colin back until the other pulled away, both of their attention drawn back to the game for the play that was made.

“Thank you. We’re trying to prepare as best we can,” he said with a grin, the smile widening when the offer was extended to visit the theater. “I appreciate the offer. We’ll have to take you up on it sometime once everything settles.” He only had a short amount of time before he was back to traveling for work, playing maybe an inning of a game, if that, before growing too tired to carry on. He hated it, but all he could do was keep trying.

Absently, he lifted his hand to rub at his chest, feeling a little breathless. He hadn’t wanted to leave early, but he wasn’t entirely sure how long his energy levels would hold out if he was already feeling worn down.



Yuuri let out a somewhat exasperated breath as the large ginger cat made himself comfortable in his lap. Or mostly on his lap. He was too big to sit very well on his lap, so he was kind of just… draped over him. Which was fine, even though everything was being covered in fur.

He cast a small glance over at Pasi’s comment, and then back to the cat as he lifted paper carton with the last pieces of chicken above shedding range.

No, there was something more familiar about this cat than just being meowed at for food, but Yuuri wondered how much he could say before he was looked at like he was absolutely crazy. He supposed he could just pick the cat up, carry him off to some place secluded, and ask him if he could talk and if he was the same cat that had nearly tackled him to the ground. And then immediately apologize for going a little, well… mad, and potentially hurting him.

“Too bad you can’t talk. I’d like to know what you were saying,” he said quietly, although he wasn’t stupid enough to think that Pasi couldn’t also hear him.

The offer for beer came as a surprise, if only because Yuuri wasn’t entirely sure what Pasi thought he would gain by being nice to him, but he lifted his head to look more clearly at the other, trying to study his expression. He held out the uneaten chicken to Pasi in exchange.

“Sure, thank you. Would you like these? Otherwise they’re going to the cats. I’m… not that hungry,” he admitted, the amount of people around them was making him too nervous and jumpy to even think about eating.

Yuuri’s free hand went to the cat named Bob’s head to scratch, his fingers smoothing over his soft ears and down his neck, trying to find a spot that the cat enjoyed being petted.

“Does that cat have a name?” he asked with a nod to the brown one in Pasi’s lap.

Gosh it would be nice if they could get some cheers going. Did anyone know any cheers? Or even the crowd! Jackie couldn't remember any specifically for walking, which didn't seem cheer-worthy. Billy really didn't have anything to be proud about for as much as he was smiling out there. Positivity BS, they were still here to play the game and playing meant WINNING.

Jackie wasn't going to wait through pitches. The first one thrown was hatchet-smacked with a vengeance to bounce just as high and wild at the infield- at that cocky-grinning 2nd baseman (Pat O'Ryan) in orange. Catch THAT and get anyone out if you can, Jackie sneered inwardly while powering down to first case to make sure it wasn't an easy out if he managed to field it. And if he threw to first instead of the lead runner at second.

And YESSSSssssssss, no one called out. Next batter. Jackie called from first base, "C'mon batter, batter, BRING ME HOME!"

Things moved pretty quick after he had struck out. The batter that followed him did a bit better but the result was the same, three outs and now it was the next inning. Back out into the field he had to go. Apparently they had a full roster once more since he heard the boss man (Quenton) get the new volunteers settled as he huffed his way out to second base where he watched the first two batters strike out. It looked like this inning would end justs as quickly as the first two and Pat was already longing for the dugout and the cold bottle of water waiting for him. It was kind of boring just standing here.

He was proven wrong when the next bater ended up getting walked to first base, not too abnormal since they had people on base before too. It was the bater after the one currently on first that had Pat scrambling. They hit a bouncing ball his way and he wasn’t horribly prepared. By the time he was able to field it properly the bater stopped safely on first and he had company on second. Puffs were doing really great at this point but his team could still pull it out, with two out it just took one more. Pat cheered on the pitcher and actually focused on the game, not wanting to miss another ball.

His cheering apparently fell on deaf ears since the next bater basicly bunted that ball after nearly freaking out at the plate. With her hit and the subsequent scrambling for the ambling ball the bases were now loaded with two outs. Puffs looked like they might actually get on the board now and while it was still a friendly game Pat didn’t actually want the game to be a complete shut out. “Come on Stuffs! We got this! Strike them out!” He really should figure out what his teammates names were.

Mel settled on the boy’s lap quite comfortably, nudging the human’s hand until it was on his back. Hopefully he was smart enough to give Mel some pats because Mel knew he couldn’t come right out and say ‘pet me human’. Being in company of civilians kinda sucked some times. One couldn’t shout in excitement about the game when you were ‘just a cat’ or eat human food or tell the kid you were currently squishing where the best spots to scratch were. This became extremely annoying when some random fan walked past with a tray full of hot dogs.

The smell! Oh, the smell! It was evil to let that smell out in a crowd when one couldn’t just ask for it. Or could he???

Letting out a plaintive mew, the large cat looked up at his seat’s face. His eyes practically begging for food, hot dogs specifically. He yowled softly, whining for the kid to take the hint and share some grub with the lanky cat.

It was getting intense.

Fritz gripped the bat tightly, fingers curling around the wood, and gave a hearty swing that he - hoped - would actually do something for his team.

It was not meant to be.

He gave Cordelia a two fingered salute and then realized what he was doing and hastily scurried off the field, his cheeks turning red.

When Fritz St James went up to bat Cordelia began to unhook her padding, wanting to be ready if she needed to step up to the plate. On the other hand, though, there were two outs and if Fritz made the third she would have to scurry to put everything back on again in order to keep from stalling the game.

What it boiled down to was just how much faith she had in Fritz.

Lips pressed together, Cordelia pushed back any thoughts she might have had that weren't one hundred percent supportive. She took a deep breath and called their spunky new teammate over to give her a hand. Two people could make quicker work of the catcher's gear than one-- Fritz was going to get Team Puffs onto the score board and then it would be her turn at bat. She...

She glanced up just in time to see his bat make contact with the ball. Her heart froze and for a moment, one brief moment, there was hope and excitement and the thrill of the game.... and then it was over, just as quickly as it had started.

"Next time, Fritz! Just pitch us another good round, alright?" Cordelia called out to him before glancing to the young woman... What had she said her name was? Kat? "Alright. All of this back on... Thanks again."

It would seem that Robin took Charlie's request to let the other team hit it to heart, because suddenly the bases were loaded. The Stuffs pitcher stood on the mound looking down at the ball in his hand as if it had betrayed him somehow. How did he let the game get away from him so quickly?

And then his fellow expat Brit was up. Robin had to get his Puffs counterpart out -- if he didn't, he'd be the shame of the Stuffs. And think of all those cheering fans he'd let down if he let the Puffs score!

He scraped his feet on the mound, then tossed the ball toward the plate. And Fritz hit it! And suddenly he was out and giving someone on the Puffs team the classic two-finger salute. Robin barely suppressed a snorted snicker as he headed for the dugout. He was just glad Fritz wasn't pissed at him.
