"Oh I think they said we'd be getting some free stuff." Lysander said critically. "I mean I expect it'll be cheap. Everything on this island is cheap." he looked very sad. "But we never get any McDonalds. I guess whoever is running this simulation couldn't get a brand sponsorship or something." Seeming to remember his manners he extended a cordial hand. "Lysander Astoria by the way. I'd offer you a business card but I forgot to bring them."

The tag was smacked right in the middle of his chest, and a terribly loud crunch came from Robert as he chomped down on the apple immediately. He was eyeing the water bottle critically, as though it was inferior. And it was. Where were the juice boxes? This meeting was a farce.

Kim watched the attendance being taken and had a wrenching feeling of school. Okay maybe she didn't do open orientation after all... No wait she just went right to a division meeting. Yeah that was right. When she looked around again she noticed someone catching her eye and doing that eyebrow thing some guys do. Rather than flip him off she just stuck her tongue out at him like a kid. Mature Kim real mature. Wow there sure was quite a group of new woken. Had that many really died? How many at the hands of... No don't think. She shivered a little, crossed her ams over her chest and tried to look bad a**. She was Sun, she was here to help protect fellow hunters and the world. medigal Her maturity is showing...

The only reason that Caroline was here was for the children. This was now true on many levels - even when 'here' meant the island itself - but she found herself particularly active in doing everything she could for them in the few days that had passed since waking from another world. If any of them wanted to be here, she wanted to be here for them. She wanted to prove that she was here every step of the way (to herself, more than anyone else at the moment). She was holding one of Cami's hands for her own sake, refusing to accept any shame over how pathetic or needy it might have looked, and wore a pleasant smile that would be directed towards (almost) anyone that met her eye. Quote: Caroline is island mom a Life hunter and the designated mom-leader-guardian of 'Small Division', made up of the trainees that remained teenagers after Creation's effect.

"I don't remember ever being this rowdy either, not in meetings." Penty rowdy at other times. Lips twisting, e looked up at him. "You've been fine for a while, haven't you?" She was pretty sure she hasn't seen much of him on the island over the last nine or so months. Not that she saw much of him anyways, but this was less even than usual. As she spotted Roland she'd lean to catch his eye, waving him over to her.

Brittney snorted in amusement at the suggestion of streaking "I'll be sure to bring the popcorn so we all can watch and cheer for you." The orientation was oddly reminiscent of High School, and Brittney was one of the few people who could say she enjoyed High School. Not because she was a popular girl (God knows she didn't fit the ******** criteria) but she had friends and there were other people.
The newbie claiming there was no hazing got a groan from Brittney.
"Aw what? Is there is there no hazing? Because swear to god if there is and we have to go through it, we sure as <********> better have the opportunity to haze future newbies." She turned to the other guy and held her hand out for a high five, "Ain't that right?"

Terry had missed the part where another newbie was making a pass at all the girls present, including his unofficial girlfriend. (Look, nearly all of the damn otome games he'd played ended after the point nameless self-insert protag finally had potential love interest confess their feelings so he wasn't entirely sure what you did next.) He did, however, notice Kim sticking her tongue out.
"What are you doing?" he asked blankly.

Kim turned her head toward Terry and grinned. "Ah, just showing that guy over there I noticed him looking at me.". She smiled even brighter at the knowledge that even if Terry didn't know why she did things she did notice her do them. From the way the room was filling she knew things would be starting soon and in honour of that she started to sing along with the tune currently playing in her headphones. "Everything is Awesome... Everything is cool when you're part of a team..."

Lawrence arrived quietly, a short and unassuming looking blonde man with a white coat which at first glance could be mistaken for a trainees were it not for the elaborate nature of the tree on the back and its single red apple.
He smiled amicably to anyone who met his gaze and took the opportunity to scope out the new hunters.
He was also missing his left hand.
He'd brought a tray of very fancy little canapés to the class which had a sign inviting people to help themselves, with a small portion of them designated both vegetarian and gluten free for those that way inclined. His house hadn't really been affected by the damage.
His name badge read Dr. Michaels
Quote: Lawrence is a Life hunter, a qualified vet and a trainee doctor. He handles some classes in disguise but this is not a specialisation.

"Hi there," Joy greeted, holding out a tray of random individually wrapped candies. "Want some? How do you find orientation so far?" she asked.

"Fine in what way?" He looked faintly amused as his attention slid back down to Peyton, head tipped just slightly to one side. Ever certainly seemed fine; a little serious, at the moment, more than he'd ever been before, and that was hard to read. But there were no more signs of injuries, no more waffling uncertainty. He looked comfortable enough. "I'm assuming you don't mean fiiiine, since I don't think anyone's ever used that word for me..."

Gale Gentry ( Y3 Death Hunter Specialist )
One of the newest trainees was giving him a curious look, her face unfamiliar. Gale stacked several of his papers together and slid them into a folder before offering her a friendly half sort of smile that wasn't quite a smile - but it was encouraging enough (he wasn't used to smiling that much, anyway).
"Did you need help with anything?" he offered. "I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name."
Vasily was given a Look out of the corner of Gale's eye.Nash Flynn ( Y1 Sun Trainee )
Nash took it back. All three of them were being idiots.
He transferred his feet away from Dottie's chair to swing them across Tobin's legs instead, crossing one of his own legs over the other, Nash shifting sideways in his chair to accomodate this new, quite comfortable position. His hands linked together across his stomach.
"Good job, Dean," Nash stage whispered, giving Sherry a curious look, flicking his gaze over her. Dottie was still being - well, Dottie - but clearly Dean had not expected his little show to actually garner attention, because his ears were red; a tell tale sign Nash knew well.
"What's your name?" he asked, head tilted to the side.
She'd said it at the beginning of the meeting, but he'd already forgotten.Merric Cassel ( Y1 Life Trainee )
Merric wasn't a fan of cheap, and clearly this man wasn't either. He surveyed the room around them with a critical eye, frowning a little, though he wasn't particularly sad about not getting McDonald's. That definitely seemed cheap - and also greasy.
"I wonder if it's losing finances, or if they just dislike paying well," Merric mused, then realized he was being offered a hand. He extended his own and gave it a shake. "Merric Cassel. That's all right, I don't have a card either to offer you, I'm sorry."
He peered around. "As cliched as it sounds to ask - I'm assuming you're new here as well?"October Flynn ( Y1 Mist Trainee )
October had woken up.
Sort of. It was debatable. Physically he was awake, and physically he was moving around, but mentally he was probably still buried somewhere under a thousand pillows and blankets, sound asleep and quite definitely content.
October slouched over to where Stormy was and promptly plopped himself down at the desk beside her and put his head down on it again.

There where many reasons why Clyde should have been there. He was a trainee still. He should get to know the new recruits, they were about his level. It never hurt to rehash info, especially as he was floundering after that whole, whatever the heck that was. None of these reasons were why he showed up though. Clyde showed simply because he had heard there were snacks. He had shown up on time, (really) and then gone to lurk in a corner somewhere. Really the lecture wasn't bad. He'd needed reminders. (He'd even snorted when sherry stabbed poor lucky. He'd gotten used to the fear shield thing, but he totally glanced around for any looks of surprise.) It was good that he came because Clyde didn't actually know any of the division leaders out side of moon and it was good to hear about them. (Who the heck was Mark? Why was he weird? They were all weird.) ok actually, it was less than helpful over all, but it was there. Clyde was amused at Rep's little Rant about not touching s**t. (He should take his own advice... wasn't he a girl for a while? what the heck did he ever touch anyways.) Clyde merely people watched while everyone else talked and mingled. He didn't really know most people on island anyways. Too busy working. Clyde's journal here (Moon trainee)

Roland glanced up from his apple when he noticed someone waving to him, it was Peyton who was standing with another hunter he didn’t know. Taking a few more bites of the apple he wandered over. “Heya Peyton,” he glanced over towards the taller hunter, Ever, before offering out a hand to shake after shifting the bag and apple together into his left hand. “Roland, I don’t think I’ve met you before?” He glanced out to the mass of hunters, “I feel like they targeted the Small Division just as much as all the new hunters for this meeting.”
